Chapter 3

Test Results

That explained why Cassius was wary of my child. They'd been sleeping behind my back. That necrospermia story was probably fake. I smiled bitterly as tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Your brother's going to come after you. You'll pay for what you did to me. To his child."

Cassius kicked my belly. "Really? I'd like to see how a guy in a coma will come after me."

That kick nearly locked me out. Though I was in agony, I still tried to keep my baby safe, yet Cassius wasn't about to spare me. He grabbed the scalpel and tore my patient gown open, revealing my belly.

"This bastard is a stain on the family's bloodline! I will scrape it out myself!"

"No!" I felt my throat closing up. The cold metal was closing in on my belly, and it chilled my blood.

Jessica appeared at the entrance and asked darkly, "What if she is pregnant with Donald's child? How are you going to explain yourself to your dad?"

Philip Lichtenstein adored his firstborn, and he was famous for that. If his son's child was killed by Cassius, Philip would make sure Cassius was exiled from the family.

Cassius pulled his hand away darkly. "I got a dozen men to sleep with her. I bet one of them knocked her up. When the results come out, I will take that bastard out myself."

A smiling Jessica wrapped her arms around Cassius' neck and kissed him deeply, calming him down. He pushed her down on the table and tore her clothes apart right in front of me.

"Oh no." She was bashed. "Your wife's still here."

His breathing was ragged, his hands squeezing and kneading Jessica's chest. "She won't be, once the results are out. Now focus on me."

I stared at them making out, despair welling within me. Then, my pain snapped me out of it. I felt something spilling out of me. With all my strength, I rasped, "Save me. Save my baby. I'll do anything, Cassius."

But the couple was deep in their carnal desires. Their breathing was louder than my whisper. Eventually, they were done, and Cassius held the glowing Jessica, while he had nothing but disdain for me.

"The results should be out now, and your little bastard doesn't need to be saved anymore."

Jessica happily straightened up her clothes. "Oh, don't do that. She is still your sister-in-law, even if she's not technically married to your brother."

Cassius kissed Jessica's ear. Gently, he said, "My mother only keeps that useless man around because she pities him."

Blood was spilling out of my lower body, but Cassius ignored it. With disgust, he told his men to throw me into the car. Philip was coming home that day, and Cassius wanted to expose me right in front of him.

I barely had any strength left, and I couldn't fight as they threw me onto the ground of the living room. Once the test results were out, Cassius gleefully tossed them in my face.

"Look at this, Rachel. Your child shares zero similarity with me!"

Since they had no time, Cassius used his DNA sample instead of Donald's. He thought they were brothers, so they should share the same DNA.

I summoned what little strength I'd recovered and looked at the paper, and I laughed.

That struck a nerve. "You're laughing even when you're going to die? You're a stain on our family's name, you slut! I'll kill the little bastard myself!" Cassius raised his leg and swung at my stomach.

Pain spread through my body, and I felt my ribs crack. I had no strength left to fight, and everything around me started to blur.
