Chapter 5

My parents hurry in as soon as I break free from his grasp, and he turns away from me.

"Seems like you're making good headway." My dad is always trying to reassure me that things will turn out well, even if they don't now. When they start worrying, I swat their hands away.

"The packhouse is available to you during your stay. I'll arrange a personal showing of your new home for tomorrow so you can see it all for yourself. Matthew would be there if you need anything, I will have a monthly checkup there to see if daily necessities are ok. "

"As of this morning, Katrina is officially enrolled in school, so tomorrow is free to focus on getting settled in and unpacking. We need to get her pack training started on Monday, so I'd appreciate it if you and her could attend the pack training on Friday and come see me at the office and early on Monday. "

"Pack training? " I ask in astonishement.

When my mother gently elbows me to remind me to be quiet, the Alpha takes notice.

"You must go for trainings with the rest of the pack. I just don't see how it could be an issue at all. "I try to avoid making eye contact by looking away when he asks a question.

My mom wraps his arm around me and extends his hand to the Alpha, saying, "No issue, at all."

"I'm interested in your experience educating teenagers. " Alpha Antony turns to my mom.

"Although I have mostly trained with my daughter and more experienced she-wolves, I am always up for trying anything new. "

"Interesting. If you're available, helping out at the high school would be very appreciated. "When he told my mom, "That way you can also care Katrina,"

He looks at me and then at my dad and nods his approval.

"My Beta will show you where you are resting for the night."

We complied with Beta Mathew's instructions and followed him as he took us to the outskirts of the quaint small village in where we planned to make our home. A gravel driveway can be seen leading up to the quaint cottage, which has a sizable terrace.

This lovely and cozy home was tucked away from both the Pack and the city, providing complete seclusion. My dad and I got out of the car and walked into the house together. When my dad would open the white wooden door, Beta Mathew would always reach his hand out with the keys and wait for my dad to unlock the door.

"There are a few resorts and other accommodations in town that have vacancies, and it's possible that one of them may be a good fit for you if you think the place is remote and not convenient. "

"This is actually very wonderful. It seems like everything is in order, Beta Mathew."

I wait at the bottom of the stairs with the expectation that my father would come outside and join me in sitting on the grass.

Mathew looks at me with an inquisitive expression and offers a quick sniff as though he is trying to figure out what's going on.

"You smell different from most wolves,"

I feel myself tensing up.

"Please forgive me, but I'm not following what you're saying."

"Your wolf scent is distinctive, yet it isn't overpowering. "Thereafter, he cocks an eyebrow and says, "You smell familiar."

"Let me let you settle in for the time being, but remember that every Friday night at 5:00 o'clock, there will be mandatory Pack training. If you're not available this week, that's ok. I still want to introduce you to the pack."Mathew assured my father, "the rest of the Pack will feel more at comfortable with newcomers to attend since we're a close-knit pack."

My father nods, "Sure, we will be surely there on time. "

I quickly take the package and run up the stairs.

My chamber smelt musty, and it seemed to be closed up completely when I did a quick check of it, so I decided to leave it alone for the time being. The carpet in the living room was such a deep brown that it was practically black, and the big fireplace filled up one whole wall of the room. Even though it has crystal dandelization on the roof, the light coming from it isn't very bright. My mother threw wide the windows and drew back the curtains in an attempt to ease the oppressive affects that the heat and humidity were having on the house.

My father, with the aid of a couple of the people working for Mathew, unloaded the furniture, while Beta Mathew provided detailed instructions for each particular room. Because the area that houses my bedroom is at the other end of the house from the rest of the living space, it is necessary for me to get the package to that location before I can go to bed. Within the restroom was a window that provided a glimpse of the surrounding woodland and lack. Even so, it was rather lovely.

When I finally got around to setting up my bed frame, the truck had already pulled away and the movers had already carried in the rest of my stuff. The remainder of the day was taken up with chores like tidying up and unpacking.

It was a wise choice to go from a house that was located on a busy road to a home that is located in this quiet suburb. At this more remote location, I enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as the absence of any curious neighbors.

The following three days went by quickly as I got back into my normal routine.

On Monday, I got up, put on my pants and a white T-shirt, grabbed my backpack, and crammed as many textbooks as I could into it. Today was the first day of school.

My stomach is doing somersaults with fear as I make my way toward the entrance gates of my brand-new school. My mother kept an eye on me via the rearview mirror the whole time she was driving.

"It'll all work out in the end. " My mother tells me,"Just keep your head down and behave, everything will be OK," and I sigh as I unlock the back door and slip away. Thinking about how dreadful it would be if they found out I didn't have a wolf, I stare up at the brick structure.

I am met by a nice lady in her mid-thirties as soon as I walk in the door of the office, which I visit as soon as I get there. She wore a pair of enormous oval spectacles that were set on the bridge of her flawlessly straight nose, and her jet black hair stretched down to her shoulders. In contrast to my prior dean, she had a more compassionate demeanor and had cherry lips. She has a tall and thin build. As I entered the room, our black eyes locked gazes with one other. When I looked up, I was greeted with a warm grin.

"You are, without a doubt, Katrina, "
