The Luna Who Married Seven Times

The Luna Who Married Seven Times

I was cursed, bound to every alpha I became luna to, each one winning battles and gaining power. But with victory came death-every husband I had, slaughtered in the end. And I was left, only to become the luna of the next. I grew numb to the endless cycle, until my sixth husband. I thought he would be different. We had children together. I thought he would love me, cherish me, unlike the others. But he, too, was seduced-by the sister of my former luna. She tricked me, drugged me, and almost ended my life. Chapter 3

Alpha Blake beamed. "To our future Alpha!" The room erupted with cheers, glasses raised high, but as the last drop vanished, I seized the moment. "Let Luna Mary's servant, Ora, drink in my place," I said, my voice cutting through the clamor. "I cannot drink, and I must also thank her for the care she and Luna Mary shown my children." Ora,looked at Luna Mary for a moment, Mary whispered something to her, then she standing quietly by my side, caught my gaze. Without a word, Ora stepped forward, taking the glass from my hand. Ora's body shook violently, her face contorted in agony. She gasped, blood spilling from her mouth with a sickening sound. "You... you said... the poison wouldn't be in the wine..." Ora choked out, her eyes wide with disbelief. The room fell into stunned silence. All eyes turned to Luna Mary, her smug expression faltering. I collapsed to my knees, my heart shattering, crying out in despair. "No! What have you done?" "I should never have existed. If it weren't for me, Luna Mary would still be your only wife, Alpha Blake." My voice broke as I reached for the gleaming sword at his side, pulling it from its sheath. Before the cold steel could strike, Blake's hand shot out. He seized the sword from my trembling grasp, pulling it from my fingers. "Luna Mary's family is powerful, Blake. You still need them. You can't afford to lose her, not yet." His eyes darkened. "You think I don't know that?" He growled. For the first time, I saw his fear. He was bound by Luna Mary's family, tethered to them by power. His reign-his strength-was built on her influence. I could see it in his eyes. He loathed it-the whispers, the sneers, the constant reminder that his power wasn't his own. "I built this," Blake hissed, his voice low and venomous. "Not her. Not her family. Me." "It was her, wasn't it? She's the one who wanted you dead." He grabbed her by the collar, seized the sword from her grip, and drove it straight into her abdomen. As I watched her fall, I couldn't help but feel a flicker of sympathy for Luna Mary. What if one day I ended up the same way? Alpha Blake, cold and calculating by nature, had just killed his wife of many years-not for me, but for his own greed for power. Luna Mary had been with him for so long. She had been deeply loyal, fiercely passionate, but in the end, her death was inevitable. She had to die. If she didn't, neither I nor my child would survive.
