Chapter 4

Caitlyn's pov.

I snuggled the pillow closer, my feet curling and my skin sinking into the soft, silky blanket. I have never been this comfortable in my whole life, the warmth was revitalizing.

Wait a minute!

My eyelids threw open, a loud gasp leaving my lips. How on earth did I end up here!? Sitting up, I took a look around the luxurious room that I had found myself in, it wasn't like any of the hotels I've ever been in, it was so gorgeous.

The bed was a staggering giant, twice as big as my old room in Mason's room. Everything in this room was white, including the tall, floral curtains that cascaded down to the floor from the ceiling. My eyes darted over to the huge smart tv on the wall in front of me, a gasp of wonder leaving my lips. I couldn't help but notice the door, it was grand and beautiful, having intricate carvings on it, it felt like a palace.

I stepped down from the bed, my feet meeting the cold, tiled floor. I walked towards the door, wondering who had brought me here. The last thing I remember was sleeping off in Zayn's arms after the steamy night we shared.

Darn! I can't believe I slept with my boss, I misbehaved and turned into a whore because of little alcohol. I wonder if he'll fire me or start to hate me for jumping on him the way I did.

"Hello?" I whispered, pushing the door open and taking a look outside. It was even more luxurious than I thought. I was definitely not in a hotel, but this is one heck of a mansion. Somehow, I feel I have been kidnapped, because it is cold, dead silence in here.

Fear gripped me, my heart thumping against my rib cage as I took my first steps out of the room. If I really have been kidnapped, then I need to find a way out of here before my captors notice. I shakily made my way over to an elevator at the end of the pure white hallway. I stepped in and headed for the ground floor.

As soon as the elevator dinged, I waited for sometime before stepping out, hoping that there was no one waiting to jump out and grab me. I was still trembling, but when I saw the wide open doors, I picked up the pace, racing for my life. A sudden noise behind me made me halt, a lump forming in my throat.

"Going somewhere, miss?"

I slowly turned around, swallowing the lump in my throat and sweating heavily despite the two air conditioners that stood each beside me.

It was a woman, over five feet and probably in her fifties. She was dressed in a typical maid attire, a long gown that almost covered her feet, black in color. Her hair was packed neatly in a bun, and she had a warm smile on her face. She looked nothing like a kidnapper.

"Where am I?" I summoned the courage to ask.

"This is Morrison Manor. Sir Zayn has brought you here." She answered immediately. Zayn owns a manor?

"Really? When?"

"Last night, you were quite drunk." She smirked.

"Where is he?" I blushed.

"He'll be here soon, he will be joining you for breakfast. He has requested that you wait until he comes, he has something to discuss with you." She answered. She doesn't seem to be American, she has such a sophisticated accent and I could listen to her speak all day.

That was when I looked over her shoulder and noticed the feast on the dining table. I've never seen such good looking food, my stomach growled in agreement.

"Come sit. He'll be here shortly."

I walked over to the dining and made myself comfortable on one of the cushion seats, my eyes fixed on the delicacies in front of me. I wonder how much longer I have to wait for Zayn, I'm starving.

"What's your name by the way?" I questioned, since it was just two of us and I have to distract myself from pouncing on the food.

"You may call me Miss Rose." She smiled, flashing her white set of teeth at me.

"Nice to meet you Miss Rose, I am.."

".. Caitlyn. Yes, sir Zayn told me." She took the words right out of my mouth and I couldn't help but blush again.

"Are you his maid?"

"I prefer the term; caretaker."

"Right, sorry." I chuckled nervously.

Just then, we heard footsteps heading our way, and we both turned simultaneously, only to spot Zayn majestically making his way over. The atmosphere became tense again, an attribute of his that I don't quite understand. His presence is as intimidating as it is intoxicating. I can't have enough but I still don't want him around because he is mysterious.

"Good morning sir." Miss Rose greeted him and I scrambled to my feet to welcome him as well but he raised his hand, signaling that I remained seated.

"G-good morning." I said shyly, watching him take his seat opposite me. I found it difficult to look at him, I was still embarrassed over what happened last night, but I could feel his heavy gaze on me.

"Miss Rose, you may leave us." He instructed and she bowed her head slightly before walking out of the room.

"Why did you bring me here?" I asked.

"Go on and eat, I know you are starving." He completely ignored my question. Well I can't argue with that, I am famished.

I picked up the cutlery to eat, but he didn't. He continued to gaze at me, making me utterly shy and unable to move. I couldn't take it anymore.

"If you're gonna keep staring at me like that, then I won't be able to eat anything." I confessed.

"Don't mind me, I'm just wondering why your husband divorced you." His outburst was unexpected. Why was he wondering that?

"Don't stress it, it's not me, it's him. He's just an asshole who can't stick to one woman." I answered sharply and he chuckled.

"Since you're divorced now, will you be open to a new marriage?"

I was about to swallow my food when he made that statement and I almost choked. I started to cough, struggling to breathe and he sprang to his feet, handing me a glass of water. I gulped it down while he rubbed my back, until I stopped coughing.

"Are you okay?" He asked, settling down again with a genuine look of concern on his face, a side of him that I have never seen before.

"Yes I am." I answered, clearing my throat.

"But what did you just say? Another marriage? What does that mean?" I questioned in pure curiosity, my heart racing.

He didn't answer me straight away, instead, he pulled out a document from the suitcase he had brought in with him and handed it to me, caressing his beards.

"That is a contract, I have signed it, so you have to sign it."

He's so bossy. How dare he tell me what to do? What if I don't want to do it?

"What type of a contract?"

"A marriage contract Caitlyn."

My eyes widened, for a moment, I couldn't feel my whole body. It doesn't make any sense. Why would he want me to sign a marriage contract?

"W-what?" I stuttered.

He leaned in, his charming eyes peering into my soul. "I want you to be my wife for the next three hundred and sixty five days, Caitlyn."
