Chapter 6

My hands are clenching my leather files. I could feel the outdoor breeze cutting through my skin down to my screaming mind and tensed heart.

The garden is so natural and aesthetic. I could see so many perfect colours and neat cuts. The Gardner certainly did a nice job, every view screaming wealth and riches.

I walked slowly with every pace one step at a time, my eyes were everywhere from the top building, to the angles, to the flowers, to the cars, to him!

Shiiiiiiit right, him. He is still here with me, his lips twitching gently in pride, sure he deserves it, because damn his villa is very surreal.

"Be careful with your steps mam".

"Pls don't call me mam". I retorted back

"I'm Emily, daughter of Richard Williams". My face beaming with pride.

"Yeah I know , you're quite popular around here" he said, his face straight and firm like that gives him serious competition.

"You look too tired, your face is melting". He said sharply walking faster than me this time with every step moving with precision.

Wait, I'm melting? Who is he to say that my face melts? I'm still traumatized by what happened earlier.

"And who are you if I may ask"? My tone is getting deeper this time.

"You can call me Eric Carter the son of James Carter and the Heir to the Carter financial enterprise".

That's enough! I know you well now. The son of the man that walks alone, no partnership just earns his hard, rough and sweaty money independently.

James Carter, my dad's superior and more likely to be the biggest billionaire in this terrain.

My mind is screaming Go Home!

"That's nice," I said sharply. I didn't seem to be amazed or baffled by him or his father. I've always had a suspicious feeling about how they make their corporate investments and equity assets. I know they're into manufacturing and logistics but I can't decipher if that's their source of wealth.

"Pls join me in my room, there is ample space there, and it's more warm for you to rest". He said, with a sharp smile that looks innocent but I don't trust it.

Like you could sit me down on the fine sofa, I could watch some TV that's relaxing, instead you choose your room, why are men so direct and always in a rush?

"Okay"! My voice is loud with a weary sigh on my face and a pretend smile to back it up.

He lets me gently to his room I couldn't say no, I was tired and filled with thoughts, and his presence seemed to shatter every living sense in me, his textured crop hair, his muscles hugging his dress shirt, every step he makes sends a shiver to my spines my mind skips every time he makes that intimidating step of his.

Every moment with him felt like a pause, a hold to my existence, his warm breath and deep voice chokes my throat, my lips are dry, my tongues are itchy, my heart longs for his touch, my bosoms are hardened with every sense shooting out in deep response.

Fuuuuuuuuck I need this man on top of me!

"Let me get you something to drink". He said, while he moves to get the bottle from another room.

My Ass sits softly on his bed when I hear a soft knock on his door.

Who could that be?

I'm sure he isn't back that fast. And if he was back with the drink he shouldn't have knocked on his own door.

I moved to the door to open it slightly to check if it's a cat.

Then Boom___ His mother, Mrs Sarah Carter at the tip of the door entrance, she wore a grimace on her face when she saw me, a striking look of total disgust.

I heard of how she treats women that come into her house with her son. She once threw a model out with relentless dogs after she jumped a story and landed on the sedan car downstairs, skipping her legs out the gate to escape fully from her grip.

I simply hate dogs. I hate women that protect their sons and I can't run with my weak legs. I'm really scared of dogs.

Would this be the end of Emily Williams?.

For three years, I was the perfect, invisible wife to Bart Brown. On our third anniversary, I stood in the kitchen for four hours, preparing his favorite meal with imported truffles, only to receive a cold text command. "Crysta fainted again. Get to the hospital. Now." My rare Rh-negative blood was the only thing the Brown family valued. Bart didn't want a wife; he wanted a walking blood bank for his "sick" best friend, Crysta. While I was fainting from chronic anemia, Crysta was smirking in her hospital bed, clutching Bart's hand and mocking my "peasant" lifestyle. Even his mother treated me like a servant, demanding I vacuum the floors after I'd already offered my veins for the hundredth time. When I finally reached my breaking point and signed the divorce papers, they didn't let me go quietly. They filed a false police report, accusing me of stealing a multi-million dollar diamond necklace just to watch me crawl. I didn't understand how a family could be so heartless. I had cooked their meals, cleaned their house, and literally bled for them, yet they were determined to ruin my life the moment I stopped being useful. Did they really think I was a nobody with nowhere to go? Standing outside the hospital with a bruised wrist and nothing to my name, I didn't cry. I simply took off my cheap wedding ring and dialed a secure line I hadn't touched since the day I married him. "It's me, Dad," I whispered as a fleet of black Maybachs rounded the corner. "The extraction is a go. I'm coming home."
