Chapter 6

Perhaps Jenna had caught a cold from the cold breeze all night, but she felt unwell and had a slight cough when she woke up the next day.

Matthew was heartbroken when he saw this. Seeing that she had no appetite, he ordered her favorite stew.

However, the delivery did not arrive for a long time. Jenna called to ask, yet the food delivery platform said that the seller would deliver it themselves. When she tried to contact the seller, she could not get through to them.

After an hour and a half, the doorbell finally rang.

The moment Jenna opened the door, her face was already tinged with anger. "How could you have taken so long..."

Jenna froze before she could finish speaking.

The person standing at the door was Luna. She was covered in mud, carrying a takeout bag. She was staring at Jenna without blinking. After a long time, she smiled faintly and answered, "We finally meet, Ms. Scott. I came to surprise you."

Jenna clenched her fists.

The next second, Luna dropped the takeout bag to the floor. At the same time, she plopped down on the ground, and her eyes reddened immediately. "I'm sorry. I accidentally fell on the way here and hurt my leg. That's why I'm late..."

Jenna said nothing but waited quietly for her next trick. As expected, Matthew's figure soon appeared. He first asked Jenna who was standing in the doorway with an indifferent expression, "Jenna, what happened?"

Then, he looked down at Luna sitting amidst the mess on the ground. He was so shocked that his tone changed. "Why are you here?"

Luna was huddled on the ground with red eyes. The stew had spilled all over the ground, staining her clothes and making her look particularly disheveled.

"Sorry for being late, Mr. Simmons. Your wife probably pushed me out of anger. She didn't push me hard. It's my fault for losing my footing... I just hope you'll intercede for me. It took me a lot of effort to find this job."

Jenna looked down at the pitiful Luna before looking up at Matthew.

However, Matthew did not even look at her. He strode to Luna and helped her up. "What happened to your foot?"

Luna's ankle was still bleeding. "I accidentally fell on the way here..."

"Let's go to the hospital first!" Matthew picked up Luna in his arms and was about to leave.

Jenna could not help calling to him, "Matthew, aren't you going to give me an explanation?"

He paused for a moment before turning around with his eyes lowered. "Luna saved me the day I was hit by the chandelier. Jenna, what you did today has let me down." With that said, he hurried away with Luna in his arms.

Jenna saw Luna turn around and flash her a triumphant smile when she got into the passenger seat of Matthew's car. Jenna's phone suddenly vibrated, and she tapped on it to find a voice message from Luna.

As soon as it played, Matthew's voice rang out. "I only asked you to pretend to be a food delivery rider and deliver her order. How did you get yourself into this mess?"

Luna answered coquettishly, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I'm just too clumsy."

He sighed helplessly. "I don't mean to blame you. I just feel sorry for you. But don't worry, I'll tell Jenna to arrange a job for you when I get home."

Luna responded, "Okay. You're the best, Matt. I love you."

Jenna then received a provocative message from Luna.

Luna: [Do you like this gift, Ms. Scott?]

I woke up in a bedroom that screamed old money, but the body I occupied felt sluggish and fragile. I was now Chris Olson, a man known as a pathetic failure who spent his marriage groveling at his wife's feet for a single look of approval. Elizabeth didn't even wait for me to clear my head before she threw the divorce papers on the nightstand. She stood there in her silk robe, eyes cold as ice, demanding I sign them before breakfast so she could finally go public with her "White Moonlight," Greg. "You're walking away with nothing," she snapped, her voice full of the disgust she'd harbored for years. She reminded me that my family had disowned me and that I'd be on the streets within a week without her charity. As I sat up, a metallic, garlic-like scent on my breath confirmed a terrifying truth: the Olson family hadn't just disowned me; they had been micro-dosing me with arsenic for years. They wanted me weak and mentally unstable so they could split the inheritance without a fight. The original Chris would have cried and begged for her to stay, but I just looked at her like she was a target. I realized then that my "loving" family and my "faithful" wife had been watching me die in slow motion, and neither of them had lifted a finger to stop it. I signed the papers without reading a single line and walked out with nothing but a duffel bag and a rusted sedan. I didn't need her alimony; I had already called her greatest rival, Adelia Cherry, to discuss a merger that would rock the city. "I'm not here to save this marriage," I told Elizabeth as I moved into the mansion right next door to hers. "I'm here to bury it, along with everyone who thought they could poison me and get away with it."

After four years of marriage, my wealthy husband Brad handed me a $50,000 severance check outside the Manhattan Family Court. Take the money and get out of our lives," he sneered, looking at me with absolute disgust. I tore the check into pieces, but my nightmare was just beginning. To access my grandfather's trust fund, I had exactly seventy-two hours to get legally married, so I desperately proposed a one-year contract marriage to a poor insurance salesman I met in a dive bar. When Brad found out, he and his arrogant family cornered me at their estate. Brad mocked my new husband for being a penniless, money-grubbing parasite, while my former mother-in-law slapped me hard across the face, knocking me to the ground. "You are trash, just like your mother," she spat, watching my knee bleed onto the sharp gravel. Jenna gleefully kicked my phone away, shattering the screen and cutting off my only lifeline. Lying there in the dirt, I stared at the broken glass in absolute despair. I didn't understand why four years of quiet devotion had earned me nothing but cruel betrayal and endless humiliation from the people I once called family. Just as I thought I had completely lost, a black Lincoln Navigator slammed to a halt at the gates. Her back hit the wall beside her bathroom. Nowhere left to retreat. "Mom said I should take care of you." I was standing very close to her and staring down at the swell of her breasts from the top of her robe. I reached out and trailed my hand down her neck, through the center until I pulled the string holding the robe together. "Stop." She whispered but her expression betrayed her. I leaned forward and whispered in her ear. "Why? Give me one good reason and I might." I bit the curve of her neck, and she threw her head back. "Because... ahhh..." she moaned. "This is wrong." "Says who?" I tugged the string, and the robe fell open, leaving her completely bare before me. I stepped back slowly, staring at her body. Shit. **** contains very explicit details.
