Rejected Under the Blood Moon
On the night of my mating ceremony, my Alpha rejected me.
Not in private.
Not gently.
But before the entire pack.
"You are not fit to be my Luna."
Those words shattered the sacred bond between us.
Then he chose another woman to stand at his side.
I ran.
Into the forest.
Into the darkness.
Into something ancient.
That was the night my wolf awakened.
Silver. Rare. Royal.
Now rogues hunt me. Rival Alphas want my bloodline. Whispers of a forgotten prophecy follow my every breath.
And the same Alpha who humiliated me under the Blood Moon?
He's hunting too.
But not to destroy me.
To claim me.
His eyes no longer hold indifference.
They burn with obsession.
With regret.
With something dangerously possessive.
He says rejecting me was the only way to save me.
He says I was always his.
He says if I try to run again... he will chase me to the ends of the earth.
But I am no longer the broken girl he cast aside.
I am power.
I am prophecy.
I am the storm he awakened.
And this time...
If he wants me, he'll have to kneel.

Chapter 6
LIORA'S POV
The forest seemed to hold its breath after the rogues fled. Silver moonlight spilled across the clearing, illuminating the tension between Kael and me. Every leaf shimmered faintly, as if it recognized the storm awakening between us. My claws still dug into the moss, my fur bristled, and my chest heaved. My wolf stirred inside me, wild and restless, tasting the thrill of power, danger, and freedom.
Kael did not move toward me immediately. He remained a shadow at the edge of the clearing, red eyes fixed, radiating Alpha dominance that made my stomach clench. His presence was suffocating and magnetic all at once. I wanted to run, and yet every instinct screamed to stay.
"You are trembling," he said, voice low, carrying steel beneath velvet. His growl was a warning, a claim, and an admission all at once. "Do you feel it? The power? The blood? The bond?"
I swallowed hard, chest tightening. "I feel it," I whispered. "And I don't know if I'm ready. If I can control it."
Kael stepped closer, each movement deliberate, predatory. His claws scraped against the earth, silent but deadly. My wolf roared inside me, mirrored by the instinctive need to guard myself. My silver fur shimmered, brushing the forest floor with spectral light.
"You can," he said. His eyes softened for the briefest moment before hardening again. "I've seen it. Felt it. You are the Silver Heir, Liora. The bond between us doesn't lie. You will not falter. And no one will touch you. Not now, not ever."
My stomach clenched, a mixture of fear, awe, and something else I couldn't name. Desire? Anger? The memory of humiliation from the pack surged like fire through me. He had rejected me publicly, broken me in front of everyone, and yet now he stood here, dominant, possessive, unwavering. And the bond pulsing between us whispered: he had never stopped claiming me.
Before I could respond, movement flickered at the edge of the clearing. Shadows shifted. Rogues? No. Too precise. Too deliberate. This was different. A rival Alpha had arrived, one whose presence demanded recognition. I could feel it through the bond: danger, arrogance, and the scent of blood and challenge.
Kael growled, low, a warning that reverberated through the trees. His body tensed, muscles coiling like springs ready to snap. "Stay behind me," he ordered softly, and I did not argue. I could feel the power radiating off him, Alpha dominance, obsession, protectiveness-and something more, something darker.
The rival stepped into the clearing. Massive. Golden eyes glinting with intelligence and hunger. He measured us both carefully. His voice, smooth and commanding, cut through the air like a blade. "So this is the one. The Silver Heir. They said you were nothing, but I smell the moon in your veins, girl. You are dangerous. And she is mine."
I tensed, heart pounding. My wolf flared. I had never felt fear so sharp, so alive, and yet power surged through me, answering instinct with instinct. I would not allow him to take me. I would not falter.
Kael's growl rose, deeper, darker. His red eyes blazed. "She is mine," he said, his voice low and deadly. "You will not touch her."
The Alpha squared his shoulders, a dangerous smile curling across his lips. "We shall see," he said.
Every leaf, every shadow, every whisper of wind seemed to freeze as we faced each other. The bond pulsing between Kael and me flared, silver energy spilling from me and red fire from him, wrapping around us like a storm. The forest trembled. The moon shone brighter.
I stepped forward instinctively, claws out, ready. My wolf coiled, growling, testing its strength against this newcomer. I had fought rogues before, but nothing like this. My body surged with adrenaline, my blood thrumming with silver energy, each heartbeat echoing in the clearing like a drum.
Kael moved beside me, closer than before. His presence was both shield and cage. Protective and possessive. My chest ached, a mix of fear and desire. Every instinct screamed that he could crush me with a glance-or claim me fully.
"You cannot hide your power," Kael said, low, almost a growl. "Not from me. Not from anyone. Let it flow. Let it burn. Let them see what you are."
I inhaled sharply, silver energy flaring along my spine. My wolf roared inside me, mingling with my own voice. I felt the transformation fully now: not hesitation, not fear, not doubt. Only power, only clarity, only survival.
The rival Alpha lunged. I met him with teeth and claws, fur blazing silver, energy spilling like liquid light. Kael was beside me instantly, a predator alongside another predator. Our movements synced instinctively, a deadly dance of protection, possession, and power.
The first strike hit, my claws cutting through shadow and air, hitting him squarely. He staggered, growling, and I felt exhilaration and fear collide. I had never been so alive. Every sense pulsed, every muscle burned, every heartbeat screamed that I had become something else entirely.
Kael's presence was a constant, a wall behind me, a fire that roared with the same rhythm as mine. His claws met the rogue's shoulder with force, sending him sprawling. Red eyes met silver eyes, and the forest held its breath.
When it was over, the rival Alpha lay retreating, vanishing into the shadows, leaving only the two of us in the moonlit clearing. My chest heaved, silver energy still humming along my spine. I was trembling. Alive. Triumphant. And terrified.
Kael stepped closer. He did not speak. He did not touch me. Yet every movement, every glance, every breath he drew carried his obsession, his protection, his possessiveness.
"You are mine," he said softly, voice rough with something I could feel more than hear. Desire. Rage. Protection. Possession.
"I am not yours to claim," I said, voice shaking, but full of defiance. "I am me. I am mine. And I will not bow to anyone."
His eyes softened for the briefest moment, almost warmth, before hardening again. "I know. But I will keep you. Always. And if anyone touches you..." His words trailed off into a growl.
I felt the bond flare between us, silver and red energy intertwining, a storm that refused to be denied. My wolf purred, tense and ready. My blood surged with power. And for the first time, I knew exactly who I was-and exactly what we were together.
The Blood Moon hung above us, bright and unwavering. The forest seemed to pulse with life and tension. And in the shadows, new threats waited. But we were ready. Together.
A storm had begun. And nothing would ever stop it.
