Rejected Luna's Vengeance

“I’m here to end the mate bond with Miracle Myers today.” Adam Lee, the Alpha heir of the Lee Pack, stood in the center of the grand hall, his broad shoulders and towering frame commanding attention even amidst the chaos. His tailored suit clung to his muscular physique, a stark contrast to the trembling girl in a simple uniform he held by the hand. Ruby Barnes, an Omega from his pack, looked up at him with wide, adoring eyes, her scent—a faint hint of vanilla—barely noticeable in the room. The guests, a mix of high-ranking Alphas, Lunas, and pack members, froze at his declaration. The air thickened with tension, the kind that precedes a storm. My grandmother’s birthday gathering, once a joyous occasion, had turned into a spectacle. “Arrogant pup!” My grandfather, a powerful elder in the Myers Pack, slammed his fist on the table, his aura flaring with anger. He hurled his coffee cup at Adam, who turned and shielded Ruby with his body, his protective stance almost theatrical. The cup shattered against the wall, and Adam straightened, his dark eyes blazing with defiance. He raised their joined hands high, his voice booming across the hall.

Rejected Luna's Vengeance Chapter 1

“I’m here to end the mate bond with Miracle Myers today.”

Adam Lee, the Alpha heir of the Lee Pack, stood in the center of the grand hall, his broad shoulders and towering frame commanding attention even amidst the chaos.

“Today, I want everyone to know that my mate is Ruby Barnes. She may be an Omega, but she is kind, brave, and strong. In my heart, she is a thousand times better than Miracle Myers.”

The room erupted in gasps and whispers. My chest tightened, and I felt my wolf stir, a low growl echoing in the back of my mind.

“You… you…” Grandpa sputtered, his aura crackling with rage. I stepped forward, my own voice steady despite the storm inside me. “A mate bond is sacred, Adam. Breaking it in front of the entire pack—is this what you call honor?”

Adam’s gaze met mine, cold and unyielding. “Miracle, the mate bond was a mistake. Ruby is my true mate. I ask you to respect that.”

Ruby stepped forward, her chin lifted in a show of confidence that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Luna Miracle,” she began, her voice trembling slightly, “I never meant to come between you and the Alpha heir. But the Moon Goddess has chosen me as his mate. I hope you can find happiness elsewhere.”

I stared at them, disbelief and anger warring within me. The audacity of their words was staggering.

“Ruby’s right,” Adam added, his tone dismissive. “Even if we completed the mate bond, I wouldn’t love you. Instead of focusing on me, use your position as Luna to strengthen your pack.”

A chair scraped against the floor as Grandpa lunged forward, his aura flaring dangerously. “Get them out! Now!”

My father, the Alpha of the Myers Pack, and my uncle, a Delta, quickly stepped in to restrain him. “Father, this isn’t the time,” Dad said firmly, his voice carrying the weight of an Alpha command.

Grandpa glared at Adam, his eyes narrowing. “Boy from the Lee Pack, we accept the rejection of the mate bond. But causing a scene here today—I won’t let this go unanswered.”

Adam smirked, his confidence unshaken. “The Lee Pack is the strongest in the region. My grandfather, the Lycan King, won’t turn his back on me because of this.”

With that, he took Ruby’s hand and strode out of the hall, their heads held high. The guests began to murmur, some casting sympathetic glances my way, while others whispered in hushed tones.

Grandpa scoffed, his voice cutting through the noise. “Those who came just for the Lee Pack, you might as well leave now.”

One by one, the guests filtered out, their loyalty to the Lees outweighing their respect for the Myers Pack. The once vibrant hall grew quiet, the silence heavy with unspoken judgment.

I stood tall, my Luna aura steady despite the turmoil inside me. This wasn’t the end. It was just the beginning.

The bass from the karaoke bar pulsed through my chest like a second heartbeat, each thump making my temples throb. I watched Lucca laughing with his pack brothers, his arm slung casually over Delta Marcus's shoulder as they belted out some terrible rendition of an old pack anthem. The crowd was a sea of familiar faces from Silvermoon, all here to celebrate our territory's founding anniversary. I'd been smiling for two hours straight, playing the perfect Luna-to-be, but the noise was finally winning. 'I need some air,' I murmured to Mira, who nodded with understanding before turning back to her own conversation. The cool night air hit my face like a blessing as I slipped through the bar's side door. Silvermoon territory at night was beautiful—the trees rustled gently, and moonlight painted everything in silver and shadow. I took a deep breath, letting Selene, my wolf, stretch contentedly within me. For just a moment, I could pretend I was alone with the night sky. Then I heard Lucca's voice.

The morning light filtered through our penthouse windows, casting golden patterns across the Egyptian cotton sheets. I stirred slowly, consciousness returning in gentle waves. Seven years. Seven years of what I believed was perfect love. "Happy anniversary, my only one," Gabriel's voice caressed my ear as he entered our bedroom, a silver breakfast tray balanced in his hands. His dark hair was slightly disheveled, giving him that boyish charm that still made my heart flutter. "You didn't have to," I murmured, sitting up against the headboard as the scent of fresh croissants and coffee filled the air. "For you, I want to do everything." He set the tray down and sat beside me, his fingers brushing mine as he handed me a steaming cup. No redness appeared on his skin, no hives, no shortness of breath—just the miracle of his touch, reserved only for me. The condition that had brought us together.

At six in the morning, the penthouse was a hush of pale gray light. The marble under my bare feet was cold. I sat on the edge of the bathtub with the test stick in my hand and watched the second pink line darken until there was no more pretending. Eight weeks. Maybe nine. My thumb found the inside of my left wrist and pressed there. A small habit. A way to hold myself in one piece. I did it without thinking, the way some people pray. I looked up at the mirror across from me.
