Rejected by Fate's Alpha Novel Cover

Rejected by Fate's Alpha

When Sasha Collins returned to the Silver Moon Pack territory after her rehabilitation period in the Alps, the emptiness of her home struck her immediately. The absence of familiar items—her mirror, the coffee maker—was a stark reminder of the life she had left behind. Exhausted, she moved to make herself a cup of coffee, but the door swung open abruptly. Standing in the entrance was Alpha David Collins, his towering frame filling the doorway. His presence was as commanding as ever, his broad shoulders and muscular build a testament to his status as the pack’s leader. They exchanged a silent gaze, the tension between them palpable despite the months that had passed. Sasha lowered her eyes to her hands, now rough and calloused from hard work—a far cry from the smooth, delicate hands of a Beta. "Beta Sasha," David began, his deep voice steady but laced with an edge. "What are you doing back here?" Sasha took a deep breath, her wolf stirring uneasily in the back of her mind, but she remained silent. "Fine," he continued, his tone sharpening.

Chapter 1

"What are you doing back here?"

Sasha took a deep breath, her wolf stirring uneasily in the back of her mind, but she remained silent.

"Fine," he continued, his tone sharpening. "Since you’ve returned, watch your step. Do you realize the trouble you’ve caused Khloe? If we hadn’t intervened in time, she might not be here. She’s been speaking on your behalf, taking all the blame."

David spoke with the detached authority of an Alpha addressing a subordinate who had failed to follow orders, his alpha tone cutting through the air.

"I understand," Sasha replied calmly, nodding.

David’s eyes narrowed, clearly taken aback by her composure. In the past, she would have reacted with far more emotion, but now she stood before him, composed and unyielding.

"Make sure you mean it; no more secret plans," he warned, his voice low and commanding.

All Sasha could do was smile bitterly inside, her wolf growling softly in frustration.

"Alpha David," she said, meeting his gaze with equal intensity. "You don’t believe me when I agree. What do you want from me?"

David opened his mouth, then looked away, clearing his throat awkwardly. "It’s for the best if you’ve made peace with things. There’s nothing between Khloe and me—I’m just helping her out."

Sasha remained silent, her wolf’s unease mirroring her own.

David’s expression shifted, emotions flickering across his face. Eventually, he sighed, his alpha tone softening slightly. "Let’s try to move on. Just stop causing trouble with Khloe."

Still, Sasha said nothing. She knew there was no moving forward for them, not after everything that had happened.

David hesitated, as if he wanted to say something else, but a bright voice interrupted from outside the door.

"Alpha David, is it true that Beta Sasha’s back?"

The woman who entered was none other than Khloe Jacobs, a rogue werewolf and David’s treasured childhood friend. She stood beside David, her presence instantly shifting the dynamic in the room.

"Beta Sasha, you’re back," Khloe said cheerfully, her eyes flashing with triumph as she took her place beside David.

"Khloe, you arrived at the perfect time," David said, his voice softening as he offered her a smile. He turned back to Sasha, his gaze unreadable. "Beta Sasha, apologize for all the trouble you’ve caused her."

"I’m sorry," Sasha said plainly, her voice steady despite the storm inside her.

David’s surprise was evident; he hadn’t anticipated her apology. "You..."

She met his gaze with indifference. "Is that enough?"

David frowned, but before he could respond, Khloe tugged on his arm.

"Alpha David," she said sweetly, her voice dripping with charm. "I need to pick up a few things from the store, but I can’t manage on my own. Could you come with me?"

"Of course," David replied, his tone gentle as he glanced at Sasha, seemingly waiting for a response.

But she turned away, refusing to offer any parting words.

Finally, David left with Khloe, leaving Sasha alone in the empty room, her wolf’s quiet growl the only sound in the silence.

The leather folder in my hands felt heavier than it looked, but the weight was a comfort. Inside lay the signed trade agreement with the Northern Timber Pack—a deal my father, Alpha Marcus of Stone Creek, had said was impossible. I had spent three months negotiating tariffs, soothing egos, and leveraging my family’s reputation to secure it. This wasn’t just paper; it was prosperity for the Silverclaw Pack. It was proof that I, Aria Stone, was more than just a political ornament. I smoothed the front of my silk dress, my heart fluttering with a naive, pathetic hope. Maybe this would be enough. Maybe today, when I placed this victory on Alpha Damian’s desk, he would finally look at me with something other than indifference. Maybe he would see his Luna. I reached for the heavy oak handle of his office door, but my hand froze mid-air.

One more week. One more night. My thumb found the mark on my neck before I even realized I was doing it.
