Chapter 1

An “innocent” omega appeared, clinging to my mate, Alpha Shawn. He'd just bought her the custom necklace meant for me.

Shawn reassured me, "Are you really getting jealous over some insignificant omega? You're the only one in my heart."

But three years later, the pack was gone, and so were my parents.

Shawn tossed a blood-soaked jewelry box in front of me.

"You love necklaces, don't you? Silver, gold... but how could any of those compare to one made from your parents' finger bones?"

Desperately, I leaped from the rooftop of the villa.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day the omega snatched my necklace.

This time, I let her take it.

I stepped aside and made the call.

"Jacob," I said. "I need you."

"Alpha, this necklace is so beautiful. I want this one, can I?"

The brand-new, custom-made necklace was rudely snatched from my hand. I spun around, my shocked gaze landing on Shawn.

In my last life, he orchestrated my parents' ruin, driving them to suicide. He even had their finger bones cruelly sawn off and fashioned into a necklace.

I shoved down the hatred and terror clawing at my heart.

"Katrina... she's the new omega. She doesn't understand the pack's rules."

"But this is the first time she has ever asked me for anything, and I've already promised her. You have a jewelry box overflowing with necklaces. Just let her have this one."

His voice was gentle, yet it was laced with the undeniable authority of an Alpha, leaving no room for refusal.

Before I could utter a word, the omega shot me an apologetic look, her nose crinkling.

"Alpha, I'm so sorry... I didn't realize she was your mate. Have I caused trouble...?"

"Luna looks a little unhappy... Is she blaming me for taking her necklace? If that's the case, I don't need it..."

Her voice trembled, thick with unshed tears as her eyes reddened.

Shawn frowned and was about to speak when I thrust the necklace into the omega’s arms, patting her shoulder lightly.

"You already stole my mate, so what's stealing a necklace? Why the guilt now?"

My sharp words, paired with the sales associate’s disdainful glare, seemed to crush her.

Tears streamed down the omega’s face as if on cue. She shook her head, looking utterly wronged. "It's not like that, I've never stolen anyone..."

Shawn grew flustered, clumsily trying to comfort her.

I watched them, unmoved, before stepping aside to dial a number.

The familiar, lazy voice on the other end of the line sent a jolt of confidence through me.

"Jacob, do me a favor."

When I hung up, Shawn caught the smile playing on my lips and frowned in displeasure.

"Who were you on the phone with? You look happy."

"No one important. Just a friend asking me out for coffee."

I lied casually. He didn't suspect a thing.

After all, ever since becoming his mate, I had settled into the role of a full-time Luna, interacting with only a handful of werewolves, all of whom he controlled.

The tension in his brow eased slightly, and he managed a resigned smile. "Katrina, since when did you become so petty? How can a completely insignificant omega make you this paranoid?"

"Alright, I was wrong this time. I promise, it won't happen again..."

"Also, if there's anything you've had your eye on lately, just say the word. Your Alpha will buy it for you."

For the last six months, they had been inseparable at the company in Los Angeles. The entire Shadowridge Pack had seen their silhouettes, far too close for comfort, behind the privacy blinds of the CEO's office.

He openly paraded her at all sorts of high-end events, protecting her so impeccably that not even a fly could get near her.

Now, he bought her a three-million-dollar necklace without batting an eye, yet he still had the audacity to call her an "insignificant omega."

In the past, my fiery temper wouldn't have tolerated a single slight. I would have raised hell.

But I had lived this life before. I knew she was Shawn's Achilles' heel—absolutely untouchable.

Stepping back was the wisest move.
