Chapter 1

After checking my final exam results, I hand the bottle of water given by my mother and the amethyst bracelet given by my childhood friend to the school bully with AIDS.

In my previous life, my exam score of 1250 was swapped with the score of 600 of my younger adopted sister, Adelia Quentin, right after I drank that bottle of water.

My health immediately deteriorated in the following days. I had a high fever and kept on coughing up blood. I was even nearly bedridden from severe pain.

On the other hand, Adelia miraculously recovered from her stomach cancer.

I begged my mother to send me to the hospital. But not only did she refuse, but she even mocked me and accused me of faking my illness. She then locked me in the basement.

They celebrated Adelia's enrollment in university while I writhed helplessly in pain.

In the end, I died in the basement all alone.

After my death, Adelia used my exam score of 1250 to study at a renowned university. She also officially started her relationship with Thomas Haynes, my childhood friend.

It was only then that I finally realized that the bottle of water my mother handed me had been cursed. My exam results would be swapped away when I drank it.

Meanwhile, the amethyst bracelet Thomas gifted me would swap my health condition with Adelia's three days after I wore it. I'd get Adelia's stomach cancer and die a painful death.

Just as I open my eyes again, I find myself back on the day I checked my exam results.

"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and take the water." A familiar voice startled me, snapping me back to my senses.

When I realized I'd been reborn, the sight of the water bottle and bracelet sent chills down my spine.

Those two things from my mother, Agnes White, and Thomas Haynes had been the reason my exam score of 1250 was swapped with Adelia's score of 600.

Not only that, my health had taken a turn for the worse after three days. I'd gotten a high fever and would even cough up blood. At the same time, Adelia had suddenly recovered from her stomach cancer. She looked so alive and healthy, unlike how sick she'd been before.

I'd held Mom's hand and begged her to take me to the hospital as the pain of the illness wracked my body.

Yet, Mom had flung my hand away and snapped, "You're just being dramatic! Do you think I don't know what you're up to, acting all sick right after Adelia recovered?"

Then, they had dragged me into the basement and locked me there.

After that, Mom held a celebration for Adelia's enrollment into university, ignoring me entirely.

I'd died a slow and painful death in the end, having been deprived of food and water.

After my death, Adelia got the university offer letter that should've belonged to me. She then officialized her relationship with Thomas, living the life that should've been mine.

Only then did I understand that Mom had given me a cursed bottle of water to swap my exam score of 1250 with Adelia's score of 600. The bracelet Thomas gifted me had been cursed to swap fates as well.

Both my exam results and my health had been swapped with Adelia's.

When I woke up again, I was back to the day when I checked my exam results. I stared at Mom and Thomas, who pretended to be nice.

I acted as if nothing was wrong, accepting the water and bracelet with a smile. Then, I left and gave the items to Jeremy, the school bully.

Jeremy had terrible grades and AIDS to boot.

Since they wanted to swap lives, I'd make sure they got what was coming for them.
