Queen Of His Twisted Betrayal
My husband, Cameron, cheated on me with his intern, Cara. After months of begging, I gave my childhood sweetheart a second chance, but the trust was gone.
One night, after a fight, he stormed out. I watched on a hidden dashcam as he drove straight to her apartment, the sounds of their passion echoing through the car's speakers, a soundtrack to my despair.
The next day, I found them kissing in our foyer. In a blind rage, I attacked Cara. Cameron shoved me to protect her, and my head slammed against the wall, splitting open. As blood streamed down my face, he cradled Cara, murmuring, "Are you okay?"
At the hospital, his mother arrived, horrified. "She's pregnant with another man's child, and she's trying to trap you!" she screamed at Cameron.
But he only had eyes for his mistress. He pushed past me, sending me sprawling to the floor, and rushed to Cara's side after she faked a medical emergency. He didn't even look back.
Later, he returned, his eyes cold. "I can't let Cara go," he said. "You'll still be my wife. My queen. Just... allow me this one small indulgence."
The audacity was breathtaking. He wanted me, his wife, to accept his mistress. But his arrogance didn't stop there. When Cara went missing, he accused me of harming her. He dragged me from my hospital bed, held a knife to my arm, and sliced my skin. "Tell me where she is," he hissed, his face twisted with madness, "or I'll make you."

Chapter 7
Audrey POV:
Cameron' s eyes, wide with horror, locked onto mine. "Audrey!" he stammered, his voice a choked gasp.
I didn't answer him. I didn't even look at him. My gaze was fixed on Cara, a cold, burning fury igniting in my chest. I surged forward, moving faster than I thought possible, my body still weak from fever but fueled by a raw, primal rage.
I reached her in a flash, my fingers tangling in her bright blonde hair, yanking her head back with brutal force. Her eyes, wide with fear, stared up at me.
"You," I hissed, my voice thick with loathing. "You little slut."
My hand lashed out, a sharp, resounding slap that echoed in the silent foyer. Then another, and another. My palm connected with her cheek, each blow punctuated by a choked sob from Cara.
"Stop it!" Cameron finally roared, his voice filled with a desperate urgency.
He grabbed my shoulders, pulling me back with a force that sent me stumbling. I lost my footing, my head snapping back, and then there was a sickening thud. The world spun, stars exploded behind my eyes, and a searing pain bloomed at the back of my skull.
Warm liquid trickled down my neck. Blood.
Through a crimson haze, I saw him. Cameron. He was cradling Cara in his arms, his face a mask of concern. "Are you okay, Cara? Did she hurt you?" he murmured, his voice soft, solicitous.
My mind reeled. He hurt me. He pushed me. He threw me. And he was asking her if she was okay?
"You promised," I whispered, the words catching in my throat, each one a fresh wave of pain. "You promised you'd never hurt me, Cameron." His words, from our wedding vows, echoed in my ears. Till death do us part. I promise to cherish, to protect, to honor.
I laughed then, a broken, hysterical sound that was more a sob than a laugh. "Liar," I accused, my voice barely a whisper. "You're a damned liar."
My legs gave out, and I slid down the wall, the rough plaster scraping against my back. The crimson tide flowed, blurring my vision. Tears streamed down my face, mingling with the warm blood, tracing a grotesque path of agony.
My vision wavered, the edges of the world growing dark. I could feel consciousness slipping away, pulling me into a merciful oblivion.
Suddenly, a piercing scream cut through the haze. "Audrey! What happened?"
I blinked, forcing my eyes open. Standing in the doorway, a look of utter horror on her face, was Cameron's mother, Carolann. Her hands, clutched around a thermos, trembled violently. The thermos fell, crashing to the tiled floor, milk and tea spreading in an ugly puddle.
"My God, Audrey!" Carolann cried, rushing towards me, her face pale. She knelt beside me, her hands hovering, afraid to touch. "What did he do? Where is he?" Her eyes darted around, searching for her son.
I gripped her arm, my fingers surprisingly strong. "Hospital," I whispered, the word tasting like rust and defeat. "Please, Mom. Take me to the hospital."
Her face hardened, a fierce resolve replacing her shock. She helped me up, her strong arm supporting my weakened body. We hurried out, leaving the scene of my shattered life behind.
The ride to the hospital was a blur of pain and muffled voices. I drifted in and out of consciousness, the throbbing in my head a constant, agonizing rhythm.
I woke in a hospital bed, the antiseptic smell filling my nostrils. My head was throbbing, a thick bandage wrapped around it. I must have drifted off again, because the next thing I knew, a commotion outside my door jolted me awake.
A familiar, angry voice cut through the hospital din. My mother-in-law. My heart sank.
I pushed myself up, my head spinning, and stumbled towards the sound. Through the partially open door, I saw a crowd of nurses and doctors gathered. Carolann stood at the center, her face flushed with fury, her usually elegant demeanor completely undone.
"Cameron Williams!" she shrieked, her voice echoing down the sterile hallway. "You worthless son! How dare you lay a hand on Audrey?" She pointed a trembling finger at Cameron, who stood defiant, Cara cowering behind him.
"And you!" Carolann turned her wrath on Cara. "You little tramp! Get away from my son! You think I don't know what you are? You're nothing but a gold-digger, a home-wrecker!"
She then turned to her guards. "Get her out of here! Drag her out! And if she resists, rip that cheap dress off her!"
Cameron stepped forward, shielding Cara with his body. "Mother, no! Don't you dare touch her!"
"Don't you dare?" Carolann raged, her eyes blazing. "You protect this... this thing over your own wife, your own family? You're a fool, Cameron! A complete and utter fool!" She raised her hand, a silver bracelet glinting, and swung it wildly at Cameron.
He flinched, but stood his ground, still protecting Cara. The bracelet caught him on the cheek, drawing a thin line of blood.
Cara, seeing her opportunity, suddenly pushed past Cameron. She dropped to her knees, clutching his leg, her head bowed in feigned supplication. "Please, Mrs. Williams, don't hurt Cameron! It's all my fault! Hit me! Beat me! Just don't hurt him!" Her voice was choked with sobs, a perfect performance of self-sacrifice.
Cameron's face contorted, a flicker of anguish mixed with a desperate desire to protect her. He pulled her up, his arm wrapped around her shaking shoulders. "Cara, no," he murmured, his voice soft, comforting.
Cara shook her head, tears streaming down her face, but she glanced at me, a triumphant smirk flashing in her eyes before it was quickly replaced by innocent distress. She even tried to reach for Cameron's bleeding cheek, a gesture of tender concern. "Oh, Cameron, your poor face!"
Carolann, witnessing the blatant display, looked as if she might explode. Her face was crimson. "That's enough!" she snarled, her hand flying out again.
But this time, Cameron was ready. He threw himself in front of Cara, taking the full force of his mother's slap across his back. The sound was sickening, a dull thud of flesh against flesh. He didn't move, didn't utter a sound, his body a human shield for his mistress.
Carolann staggered back, clutching her chest, her face ashen. Tears welled in her eyes, blurring her vision. "You... you chose her?" she choked out, her voice filled with a profound sorrow. "Over your wife? Over your family? Over me?" She pointed a trembling finger at Cara. "She's nothing but a manipulative little whore, Cameron! She's pregnant with another man's child, and she's trying to trap you!"
Cameron blinked. His eyes, fixed on his mother, held a flicker of surprise, a dawning realization. He opened his mouth, perhaps to protest, to deny, but then his gaze fell on me.
