Chapter 1

As I stepped into into the Crow's mansion, all I felt was fear. I was anxious that somehow something might slip and someone might recognize me, and that may be the end of the revenge I carefully planned for years.

"Mrs. West, I thought that you would not come anymore," Kimberly Jade declared.

I smiled. "Not really. Something needed my attention in my company, so I had to attend to it. How can I not attend the wedding ceremony of my two latest investors?"

"Come, the groom is free; let's go talk to him and eye-fuck him. Mr. Damian is such a sight for sore eyes, right?"

"I will be right there; let me look at the paintings; they are so beautiful," I said, pointing at the paintings.

"I think that your husband's death has sucked out any human feeling from you because I can't believe that you would prefer looking at a painting than a handsome Apollo," she whispered.

"Aren't you married?" I asked her, then she winked at me and walked away, but not before whispering.

"And you are a widow, so what's your excuse?"

I saw Damian's eyes on me; he was checking me out. I walked closer to the wall and then pretended that I was looking at the paintings.

Everything was going according to plan, and Damian loved to chase whoever was immune to his handsomeness. "The thrill of the chase" that was what he used to say. He knew that people loved to be closer to him because he was the handsome Alpha of House Stone for the supernatural and the handsome rich businessman for humans, so when anyone defied that order, his narcissistic self befriended the person.

I heard him ask someone who I was, due to my super hearing, but I did not turn to see who, because I did not want to act like I was aware of his presence but knew that he heard my conversation with Kimberly. Werewolves have those special gifts from the moon goddess.

After spending a few minutes looking at the painting, I decided to go meet him casually, but then I came face-to-face with my ex-sister, Ava. The ex-sister sounds awkward, right? Then maybe I should tell you a bit of my backstory.

My name is Anastasia Crow, the heir apparent of the Crow family and the adopted daughter. The whole werewolf world was led by 6 families. Now five, because I heard that the other families revolted against the Reign family, which was the ruling house, and massacred them all, and because my family and the Stone family contributed the most, there was trouble in choosing who was to lead, so it was finally suggested that I marry Damian Stone to bring peace to both houses.

When it was first suggested, I was so happy and could not wait for that day to come because he was so handsome and always knew the right word to use in many situations, and that was my mistake, listening to his sweet mouth. And thinking that his heart was like his face.

Somehow, they found out that I was adopted, which I think would have been the work of that witch, Ava because I saw the way she always looked at him even though he was promised to me.

I was sure that my mother would have given him to her because she hated saying no to her lovely daughter, but that would raise suspicion because I was older than her.

They had a meeting, and my mother told me that she was only meeting them to explain things to them, but I later overheard that they concluded that they would kill me quietly and Ava would marry him. I did not believe it, but then a servant showed me the short video of them at the meeting.

"Hello, you are such a beautiful bride." I said and smiled.

She did not smile back; instead, she condescendingly looked at me.

"You look familiar. Who are you? One of Damian whores?"

And if I forgot to add, Damian did not turn out to be what she wanted. He kept sleeping around, so she kept delaying the marriage. But both families could not wait any more, so the date was finally fixed.

I pretended to be offended. "Excuse me, Lady, I am Nicole West. Your husband is one of my investors. So I am here to congratulate a business partner on his achievement and not whatever vulgar word you just said."

"Today has been a bit hectic. Thank you for being here. Have you met my husband?" She said. Her version of apology.

"No, I was distracted by the beautiful painting," I said, waiting for her to take the bait.

"I love paintings too," she grinned.

"Then I guess we have something in common; I would have invited you to our art show, but you might be on your honeymoon then."

"When is it?"

"Next Saturday, many high-profile artists will be there."

Her eyes beamed. "Yeah, I will be there."

"What about your husband? Would he not mind?"

She scoffed, "No, and I could get him to tag along too."

I nodded. "Perfect then. I will send you both invites to the show."

"I see you met Mrs. Nicole, the CEO of West Corporation," Damian said.

She went and grabbed his arm. "I did. She is so kind to grace our wedding and even invited us to an art show next Saturday."

"Art show," he asked and made a face.

"What? you don't like art?" I asked.

He fixed his face and smiled. "I do, but I have some things I prefer, to art shows, but because the invitation is from you, we will be there."

"Okay, well, congratulations to both of you," I said.

"Thank you." They both greeted me.

I smiled, then walked away from the both of them. I went to sit down beside a friend of Lelani. I knew that she would come out to be a great friend.

A few minutes later, the priest arrived. The wedding started. I sat down and kept clapping and cheering from then on as the wedding progressed.

When they were officially married, everyone screamed, and then she threw her bouquet, and it landed on my leg.

I came out holding the bouquet and was prayed for, and on my way to my seat, one of his best men stepped closer.

"You are a werewolf, right?"

I nodded. "Yes, who is asking?"

"Joel, Delta of Stone Pack."

I smiled immediately. I heard that he would be useful someday.

"Wow, it's nice to meet you. It must be nice for you guys; you still live in your pack."

He looked at me in surprise and asked, "What happened to yours?"

"Massacred in a rogue attack, and we had to run."

"Well, thank God that such a beauty like you survived."

I chuckled. "Thank you for the compliment, but no one deserved that, beautiful or ugly."

"Sorry if I offended you; I was just trying to be funny."

"No, I was not; I just remembered that day again, and that usually spoils my mood."

"Then maybe I should show you around instead of asking you about your sad past."

He took me around, then I kept pointing at the paintings, and from the corner of my eye, I saw that Lelani was in my seat talking to her friend.

I tapped him. "That is the Crow's famous Luna right?"

He nodded. "Come, let me introduce you guys."

I held his hand, and he led me to the seat, then he smiled at them.

"Good afternoon, Luna, This is Damian's latest investor, the mighty Nicole West."

She smiled. "A wolf?"

"Yes, but my pack has been massacred. So it's been long since I lived in a pack."

"That is sad. Do you want something to eat or fruit? Maybe apple? "

I shook my head. "I hate apples."

Then she smirked, and I bit my lips; I had just slipped.

"I had a daughter as tall as you, and she hated Apple too. You remind me of her."

"What happened to her?" I asked nonchalantly.

I did not want to show that I was interested in the story that she was about to tell.

"She died in a fire. Someone started a fire and left it till it got out of hand." She finished, then kept weirdly looking at me.

Lelani was trying to see if it was me. She was waiting for me to react, but instead I smiled.

"That was sad; I'm so sorry for your loss," I replied.

She was about to ask me another thing when it was announced that the reception was happening outside.

I smiled politely, then excused myself. I hurried to the bathroom to catch myself. I stood in front of the mirror and looked at myself. No hair was away from the others, and I looked beautiful and different from the Anastasia they knew because of the cosmetic surgery I had done after I was injured on some parts of my face as I ran that night. Also, the cloating spell never fails, as they will never know.

I washed my hands and then headed outside the door, but as I walked back to the hall, I was about to step outside for the reception. I heard moans and screams.

I quietly moved closer, and I saw Alpha Damian. At first, I thought that the couple was having a quickie, which was a normal thing, but then I spotted Kimberly's clothes on the ground. Damian was with another woman on his wedding day.
