Chapter 1

As the Ocean Supreme was sinking, my fiancé Dylan, clung to the lifeboat, refusing to let us leave.

All to wait for his lover Isabella, who’d gone back for her Louis Vuitton.

To survive, I knocked him unconscious and forced our escape.

Three years later, the night before our wedding, he drugged my whiskey.

I awoke bound on a boat, hands bleeding. He pushed me into the black water.

“Bennett, you killed my Isabella! Now drown like she did…”

When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the sinking ship.

This time, I let go of his hand and took a step back with a smile.

“Very well. I wish you and Isabella… never to be parted.”

"This ship is sinking! If we don't leave now, we'll all die here!"

Towering waves crashed against the hull, and the violently lurching deck sent everyone around into a blind panic.

Someone was crying out in terror, while a few daring men tried to approach my fiancé, Dylan, wanting to pull him from the gangway.

Dylan, however, furiously shoved them away.

His gaze was venomous as he stared at the crowd, and he roared, "Isabella will be here any second! Is it going to fucking kill you to wait for her?"

The man he'd pushed to the ground clutched his dislocated shoulder, his voice hoarse with desperation and fury, "We're all going to die waiting for her."

"The engine room at the stern has exploded, and the entire lower deck is flooding, can't you see? Not to mention, this ship could break apart at any moment!"

As he spoke, he pointed to an elderly couple behind him.

Dr. and Mrs. Mitchell, Nobel Prize candidates from Harvard Medical School, were on their way to an important collaborative medical project.

If something happened to them, countless cancer patients around the world would lose their last hope.

"So a cancer patient’s life matters, but Isabella’s doesn’t?" Dylan demanded, his face cold.

"Besides, getting cancer is just their own damn bad luck."

Dylan's words sent a tremor of rage through the crowd, but for the moment, no one dared to step forward.

They could only turn their gazes to me. "Ms. Carter, please, talk some sense into your fiancé. This brutal weather is no joke."

"If the hull fractures, none of us will make it out alive."

"There are so many women and children on board. Their bodies won't be able to withstand the freezing water and the violent impact alone."

This cruise ship belongs to the Carter Group. As CEO, I have the final say.

So everyone was looking to me to take control of the situation.

Dylan also turned his gaze to me, and this time, I noticed the viciousness hidden deep within his eyes.

He was tense, terrified I would give the order to leave Isabella behind.

In fact, as I looked up, I clearly saw the blazing murderous intent hidden in his eyes.

Realizing this, I lifted my head and made a choice completely different from the one in my past life. "Dylan is right. The patients' lives are lives, and so is Isabella's. Since she'll be back any moment, we'll wait for her."

"Of course. The two of you sleeping together, two sides of the same crazy coin! Lunatics!" the man who had been pushed down cursed furiously.

Dylan immediately strode forward and knocked the man to the ground with a single punch.

At the same time, while everyone was distracted, he pulled out the life hammer he had stashed away. "I dare anyone to move forward. I'll smash the lifeboat's engine to pieces right now."
