My Wife Sold Me to the Blackmarket
Chapter 2
I stared in disbelief at Vivian. I had emptied my savings to send her abroad to study.
She ignored my ashen face completely.
She impatiently urged me to start cooking a couple more times before turning on her heel and walking away, her high heels clacking behind her.
The last trace of familial warmth between us shattered completely.
I deleted the message to my lawyer and typed a new one, gritting my teeth.
[Write me a notarized certificate to sever family relations.]
I wanted nothing to do with the sister and wife who betrayed me anymore.
Jason deliberately opened the bedroom door, showing off the hickeys that covered his skin.
The wedding suite I had carefully prepared had already been turned into a wreck.
Used condoms were scattered all over the floor. The bedsheets were crumpled and stained, and the air was thick with a foul, musky odor.
Jason looked at me provocatively.
“Shawn, the wedding bed you prepared is really comfortable.
“Chloe and I just unlocked ninety-nine different positions. She was screaming so loud the roof almost came off!”
His eyes slid down toward my lower body as he sneered in disdain.
“Chloe said you’ve never satisfied her. No wonder! A sewing needle really can’t get the job done.”
Rage surged through me, and I punched him hard.
He deliberately fell to the ground and suddenly started slapping himself repeatedly.
“I’m sorry, Shawn! I didn’t realize you hated me so much. I’ll pack my things and leave right away.”
Chloe came out wrapped in a bath towel just in time to witness this scene.
She got furious and smashed a vase against my head. Her face was full of rage.
“Shawn, why are you bullying Jason?!”
I had known Chloe for over a decade. Back then, even scraping my knee would make her cry in distress over me.
Now, she struck me for the first time for Jason’s sake.
Blood streamed down my face as a searing pain spread through my body.
She did not even look at me. Instead, she anxiously pulled Jason into her arms, soothing him with a gentle voice.
Jason raised an eyebrow at me. The corners of his lips curled into a mocking, contemptuous smile, yet he pretended to be understanding.
“Chloe, don’t be mad. Shawn is just upset. If hitting me makes him feel better, I’ll accept it.”
He crouched down and helped me up, whispering in a voice only I could hear, “You can’t even satisfy a woman. What gives you the right to challenge me?
“You’re just a watchdog her family kept around out of pity. Do you actually think you’re something now?”
A low chuckle rolled in his throat.
“Oh, right. That one-dollar bonus Chloe gave you? I told her to ‘spare’ you that.
“She said that if keeping a dog around helps guard the house, then a useless, impotent man like you might as well stay.”
Jason’s smug expression made my stomach churn.
I clenched my fists tightly, forcing myself to stay calm.
“No matter how you put it, you’re still just a homewrecker.
“Even if I divorce Chloe, she would never marry you.”
Jason’s smugness twisted instantly.
Suddenly, he shoved a fruit knife into my hand and immediately let out a piercing, pig-like scream.
“I’m sorry, Shawn! I won’t do it again! I’ll leave right away! Please don’t kill me!”
“Shawn! Are you insane?!”
Chloe immediately kicked me hard in the stomach.
A wave of sharp pain forced me to stumble back.
Vivian rushed out of the room and pointed at me, yelling at me, “Shawn, I can’t believe you’d try to kill someone over jealousy! Are you even human?!”
“He set me up! He shoved the knife into my hand!”
I raised the knife, trying to defend myself.
Still, there was only pure, naked disgust in Chloe’s eyes.
“Shawn, I didn’t think you could be this shameless! You tried to hurt someone, yet you’re blaming Jason now?!”
Vivian stared at me like I was nothing but filth.
Before I could speak again, Jason let out an even more painful groan from the ground.
They immediately panicked and rushed to call an ambulance.
