Jasmine pov

I was walking home when I ran into my mate and I was excited till he kissed a girl in front of me. She looked gutted and sobbed, knowing we were mated.

You can tell when mates cross paths it is literally in the air. The smell changes for both wolves. I felt so much anger and pain.

"No," he growled viciously as I stood frozen. He seriously doesn't want us. My wolf whimpers as she gets angry.

"Excuse me?"I question getting pissed off. I didn't do shit but walk by. I was minding my own damn business when I smelt his spicy scent.

He acted like I punched her.

"I'm with Cecilia your not fucking this up for me. I promised her we'd be together forever ",he almost roared at me. I scoffed loud.

"You know that isn't how this works. You know mates are more important than girlfriends, "his eyes darken, meaning even his wolf wants her. I feel my wolf whimper and start crying in my head. She goes quiet, but I feel her pain, and I almost start sobbing in front of these two. Our alpha doesn't want me, and that hurts the worst. Why did I have to be mated to this douchebag? Why am I mated to Kaiden Fire? The most feared alpha in the world.

"I've been with her since we were thirteen. I can't just leave her for a mate that I don't even know, "he seethed out at me as he cradled her in his arms. I'm shocked but also hurt as she glares at me from his chest. Her eyes find mine, and I see a smug look enter them. She knows she won and I'm nothing. I can't compete with her at all.

"You got to be kidding me," I'm floored as he cusses. I just turn on heel and walk off heading home I need to get the fuck out of here. I bust in through the front door as my mom walks out at the noise. She looks at me with worry as I rush to lock the front door.

I'm in panic mode and flight mode. I need to run away.

I need far away so I can not feel what I'm feeling now.

"Jasmine, what is wrong?"She follows after me as I rush upstairs to pack. I'm leaving this fucking pack.

"I found my mate," I throw clothes in my suitcase. Tears fall as I pack faster. I need to go. I need out of this fucking pack. I'm not sticking around to be hurt by them.

"That is great, baby. Who is he?"she asks, clapping her hands.

"The fucking alpha, I grit out, you know the one who is dating Cecilia since he was thirteen. It has been a grand time being told I'm not wanted because he wants her, "I sob out. Mom stiffens as I keep packing. Then she gets scared as I pack up my whole room in fifteen minutes. I'm about to lose my shit and I need distance between this pack and myself.

"Honey, just stay here. we can fix this, "I pause as I look at her. She can't be serious. I'm not being a third wheel in our mate relationship. I'm not sticking around to be hurt by them fucking. If I get distance between us I won't feel much if they fuck.

"Fix it, how? He is going to reject me for that whore",I go back to packing. My mom calls my dad, and soon both are begging me to stay. I ignore them and start loading up my car as fast as I can I need out of the Fireside pack fast. I need away from Kaiden Fire the alpha of the Fireside pack. I'm not staying to watch my mate be with her. I'm loading the last box when he walks up looking pissed.

"Jasmine," he says, looking confused as I stuff shit in my car.

"I'm busy Kaiden",I keep packing up my shit so I can run. I'm going closer to my job and plan to work remotely anyway. If I'm closer, I can get promoted and stop in once I'm awhile. This job has been great for me because I'd rather sit in my pajamas to work anyway.

"We need to figure this out, Jasmine. We need to figure something out. I've been with her since I was thirteen. I can't just dump her. I can't hurt her like that. "I slam the door shut hard and round on him.

"You're okay hurting me, though, right? I'm the one moon goddess chose for you but it is okay to fucking destroy me as long as your whore is not hurt. Fucking unreal"I shut my trunk and head for the driver seat.

"Jasmine," he says louder, and I turn to look at him.

"What Kaiden? What could you possibly say that won't hurt me? You know damn well if you stay with her I will be hurt so I'm fucking leaving Fireside Pack to hopefully find a man that will put me first",I hop in my car and smack the steering wheel.

"Just wait. We can figure this out. We can come up with..."I scoff as I glare at him.

"You expect me to share you with your whore..yeah no thanks",I start my car and he smacks the hood.

"No, I expect you to give me time to break it to her gently she is fragile. I don't want her hurt, "I chuckle darkly.

"I'm not giving you time Kaiden I'm not standing on the sidelines while you fuck your whore. I'm not having my other half chose another that is not meant for him. So I will save you the trouble. I'm out of this shit. "I peel out, leaving him standing there chest heaving. My gut hurts as I drive out of the packland heading away. I stop at the border and sigh sadly.

"I Jasmine Heart reject you Kaiden Fire as my mate. I hope she makes you happy, "tears fall as I look into the pack I grew up in. I see his wolf racing my way. With a broken sob, I jump in my car and speed away. It fucking hurts. I sob the whole drive, and I swear I hear a loud howl as I go. I'm not coming back. I tell my wolf, and she sniffles sadly. It is for the best he and his wolf love her we couldn't compete with that. I wipe at my cheeks as I clear the state line and pull over to cry more. I must have sobbed for a long time because a voice startles me.

"Honey, are you okay?"I jump at the sudden deep male voice.

Looking up, a cop stands there, and I sniffle as I go to talk. Instead, more tears fall as I cry harder.

"I'm sorry I will move soon. I need a few minutes. "I choke out. He sighs.

"Did you have a bad breakup?"I sob more feeling foolish, but the crying is actually helping.

"Not really he just chose a whore over me. He said he had been with her since he was thirteen. I can't compete with that, so I left. "I sob like a fool as he watches me.

"Honey, you need to relax," he says softly.I feel like my chest is caving in, and I can't breathe.

"I'm so stupid. Of course, he would choose her. "I'm breaking down as he opens my door and unbuckles my seat belt. He gathers me close, and I whimper. He holds me as I cry, and I feel stupid. This stranger is holding me as I sob like a little kid.

"Everything will be okay honey",I wish I could believe that, but deep down, I know it won't ever be okay again.

I won't ever be okay, and I'm gonna have to accept that.
