Chapter 2

ANDREA

"Another one please",I said, shouting over the loud music that was in the bar.

It was my third shot and it was starting to kick in.

The joy of having no thoughts.

I didn't need to think about Jason or Loraine.

I just wanted to enjoy and have fun drinking and dancing to the music in the club.

The bartender slid the glass back to me and I chugged it down, slamming it on the table.

I was just starting to feel that joy, the music seeping into my bones.

I stretched my hand to request for another drink when a girl tapped me.

"Please, I need your help", she said, shouting over the music.

A random girl coming to ask for my help in a club.

Yeah...weird as fuck.

"I need help...my friend is about to loose her job because she fell sick", she said.

"She couldn't stop by today and the boss is not listening", she shouted..

I leaned in, the smell of her perfume mixing with the alcohol on my breath.

"Work?..Why are you telling me this"

"We have a gig here tonight and I was thinking you could help me impersonate her, you have the same body", she said.

"It's just dancing in a mask. You wouldn't show your face at all.", she added and I laughed.

I had no idea why I laughed because she obviously didn't crack a joke.

But still...it just felt like it was a joke.

"You're joking, impersonate your friend for a gig?."

"I'm desperate!", she said, rubbing her hands together begging me.

"She'll lose this job, it pays so well... It's just to twirl around the pole a bit in front of one guest. That's it. Ten minutes", she said.

"Fine...I'll give you her whole fee.", she added.

I really loved dancing...I remember back in college..after exams, my friends and I would organize a house party and we'll learn pole dancing like our lives depended on it.

But ever since I got married...I never had the time to do things like that...

The idea of moving to that music, of feeling it claim me while tipsy made me so excited.

It couldn't be a bad idea.

Moreover she mentioned me dancing in a mask.

"You don't need to pay me, I'll help you, I hope your friend gets better", I said and she threw her hands around me.

"Thank you so much", she said.

"So what do I do?", I said, the moment she pulled back.

"You dance and you leave...He's just some rich guy who likes a show.", she said.

The thought was reckless and at the same time delicious.

No one had to know it was me.

"What's a birthday without crazy memories?", I thought.

"Alright, lead the way", I said as I tossed a wad of bill to the bartender and I followed the girl.

We walked through the club until we reached the back room.

There were lots of laidies in there, trying to dress up and prepare for what I assume to call their "gig".

She introduced herself as Mia and I nodded.

I didn't need to tell her my name.

We'll obviously not see again after today.

She handed me a black lace and silk lingerie and a mask that covered the upper half of my face completely.

Which was fine by me.

I slid of my gown and I wore the lingerie, not forgetting my mask.

The cold air hit my skin as I rubbed my hands together, hoping the friction provides the heat I needed.

"Perfect,", I heard Mia say as she adjusted a strap on my shoulder.

"Just follow my lead and we'll be done in no time, thanks for agreeing to this", she said and I nodded.

She led me out of the room, up the stairs and we stopped in front of a door.

"He's in there, he's the one that requested for my friend, I've got the room next door... just dance and don't talk", she said and then she turned and walked into the other room.

I took a deep breath as I pushed the door opened, I had no idea of what to expect...but I was here already.

I couldn't go back.

The room was so huge, there was a huge bed and two poles meters away from it.

And then there was a chair chair not from from the pole, which were at the center of the room.

The light was not too bright..but bright enough to see each other.

A girl was already at the pole, twirling like her life depended on it.

"Wrong room", I thought as I saw the girl.

Why would he want two girls?

Mia never mentioned that.

"Just dance and get out", I thought as I walked towards the pole.

I hadn't even seen the man's face.

He was just sitted on the sofa, staring at the girl dancing.

I walked closer to the pole opposite the girl and only then was I able to see the man's face.

His back was slumped against the sofa he was sitting on, he had a glass of liquid in his hands and Damn..

He passed the description of a Greek god we read novels.

Dark, tousled hair with a striking jawline, a perfect straight nose and a lips that looked soft.

He was wearing a black shirt and the sleeves were rolled up to his forearm, revealing his muscles and a dark tattoo.

His shirt was few buttons down and I could also catch glimpse of a tattoo...tiny words inscriped on his chest.

He watched us with a lazy, predatory interest that made my skin prickle.

The girl began to move, and instinct took over.

I was representing someone who needed the job badly, I couldn't flop.

I let the rhythm in, my hip connecting with the cool metal of the pole, my back arching as I let my head fall back, I spun, curled around the steel just like I loved doing back then in college.

It brought a lot of memories back and I actually felt like I needed to enjoy that moment.

There was no way I would find myself round a pole ever again.

As I twirled round the pole, I could feel his eyes bore into me.

He seemed to be staring at me...a bit too much.

Suddenly, the girl left her pole and with a sway of her hips, she walked right to the sofa and without a word, she say on his opened legs and slammed her lips on his.

He let her, his hands coming up to rest on her waist, pulling her closer.

I could hear her moan and I could hear their tongue slide against each other.

I dropped down from the pole and I noticed his eyes were over her shoulder, looking at me.

A jolt, sharp and electric, went through me.

"Right....I guess I have to do something, too", I thought as I walked closer to him.

The moment I got to him, he broke the kiss with the girl, staring at me and I placed a knee on the sofa beside his hip, leaned down, and brought my lips to his.

He tasted like alcohol and mint, cool and hot at once. His lips were firm, and for a second, he didn't respond, letting me take the lead and then with a low hum that vibrated against my mouth, he kissed me back.

His tongue swept into my mouth, bold and demanding, and the hand not holding the glass came up to cup the back of my neck, holding me to him.

A moan escaped my throat and my body pressed closer, my lace-covered breasts flattering against his chest.

And then, just like I had been poured a bucket of ice water, I remembered Jason.

I was married!!

What am I doing?

I tore my mouth from his, pushing back against his chest. His grip on my neck tightened for a fraction of a second before he let go.

"I... I have to go," I stammered, the words rolling out before I could stop it.

The plan was to dance and leave.

It wasn't for me to shove my tongue down some stranger's mouth, moaning like I wasn't a married woman.

I turned and his hands shot out, his fingers wrapping around my wrist.

"Not so fast, princess," he said, his voice a low rumble that seeped into my very bones.

"We're just getting started."
