My Husband Panicked When We Switched Bodies

"This reminds me…" A thought flashed through my mind, and I quickly grabbed my phone.

"Locke… You kept talking about Locke the other day. Why haven’t I met him yet?”

Seth stood up. He wanted to snatch the phone from my hands, but he failed.

I had dialed Locke’s numbers as I was speaking.

"Why are you calling me at this hour, darling? Do you miss me?"

A familiar female voice came through the phone. Her voice was so sultry and sweet that I could almost taste the sugar in the air.

I made up an excuse and hung up. After that, I gave Seth an understanding smile.

Seth could no longer keep up his act. "Just tell me what you want. Don't hurt Jenny. She's innocent."

I smiled even though tears were welling up in my eyes. "I knew this day would come, but I didn't expect it to come so soon."

My parents disapproved of my relationship with him while we were dating. They tried everything they could to convince me not to marry him.

"His family isn't well-to-do. What can he give you? You're our little princess. We didn't raise you just so you could suffer a hard life with him.

"Nicole, you've been sheltered for your entire life. You have no idea how terrible people can be. How do you know that he doesn't have ulterior motives?”

"He'll treat me well."

I was so in love that I could not listen to a word my parents said.

Seth had stood outside my house for the next three days, enduring the sun and the rain. Finally, he passed out from exhaustion.

That was when my parents finally relented. They kept sighing, but in the end, they agreed to our marriage.

Seth treated me very well after we got married. He was capable enough to expand his business, and he eventually made more and more money.

We were the perfect couple in the eyes of our friends and family. I was naive enough to believe that we would continue being this happy.

Seth fell silent when I talked about the past.

"I'll ask her out tomorrow. You can meet her as me. Will your true love choose money and leave, or will she be willing to wait for you to divorce me so she can marry you?"

A guilty look flashed across Seth's face. He gave me an upset glance. "When did you become like this? Jenny is not what you think she is."

I smiled and said nothing.

The next day, I found a hidden corner to sit at in the restaurant where they were meeting.

Seth stood up the moment Jenny walked in. "Jen—I mean, Miss Locke."

"I'm sorry, but I don't know your name, Mrs. Rothman. How do you do? I'm Seth's colleague, Jenny Locke."

Seth stared at her blankly, while she looked back at him quietly.

After half a minute, Jenny said, "I know you don't like me being close to Seth. I'll do whatever you want."

It took Seth quite a while to reply. "B-but why?"

Jenny flung back her long hair. "I never planned to marry him. It's more fun to leave men like him hanging. I wouldn't cherish him if I could get him so easily. Do you expect me to wait around to marry him while he gets his divorce?"

I saw Seth demanding with a look of shock, "Don't you like him? Otherwise, why would you still flirt with him knowing full well he's already married?"

"All I need to do is wave, and men will come running. It's no fun that way, is it? I'll be leaving if there's nothing else. Don't worry. I'll keep my promise to you."

Seth seemed to have turned into stone. He could not snap out of his daze.

"She's gone. Stop thinking about her," I said sardonically as I appeared from the hidden corner.

Seth looked up suddenly and glared at me. "I've cheated on you more than once. Do you have any idea how many women want me?"

I was silent.
