Wendy’s face was deeply flushed, and her clothes were drenched with sweat. Besides, she was breathing rapidly and looking miserable. I enjoyed the sight.

I covered my mouth and smiled before I asked, “Wendy? Why are you so concerned about me today? I suddenly felt like training. It’s so fun running in this hot summer.”

Wendy grew quite mad. She had purposely gone to a construction site to deliver water to the workers there. She even hired an assistant to take photos of her as a record.

In the beginning, she felt quite comfortable. She basked in the hot sun and walked around for several hours. She felt no discomfort.

I also stopped running and returned home.

Max instantly approached me with a glass of iced water. He said dotingly, “Dear, have some water. You have to stop torturing yourself like this.”

When I woke up, I found myself in a summer resort located at an altitude of over three thousand feet. Max had brought me here.

Surprisingly, there was a pool party outside. The guests were all friends from Max’s circle.

Although he was smiling, his gaze filled me with uneasiness.

I looked at Max and asked, “What do you mean by this?”

Max held my hand and said gently, “Dear, you can’t stand the heat. So, this is a surprise for you.”

After that, he jumped into the pool and pulled me into the water with him.

Anger got the better of me as I slapped him. It seemed like he would do anything for his sister.

All I felt was hot and dizzy. Presumably, Wendy had started acting like the kindest person and delivering water under the hot sun.

During my previous life, she did the same thing and became famous on the internet by acting like no one else was as kind as her.

“Get lost!” I pushed him away and tried to get out of the pool.

But he pressed me down with force and pinned me in the cold water.

His gentle facade had finally vanished. He sneered. He was rough and violent with me.
