Chapter 2

His sharp, handsome face, and those dark, brooding eyes.

I had been so caught up chatting with the system earlier, but now, taking a good look at him…

Damn, the crazy male lead I wrote is ridiculously handsome!

He pulled me into his arms, his voice suddenly lowering, “Selena Vance, kiss me.”

I: ???

What the hell? Why is this male lead acting so weird?

But then I remembered how readers used to criticize me for writing male leads who were all too quick to fall for the female lead. Now that I’m experiencing it firsthand, I feel like maybe they had a point…

Lysander frowned, his expression darkening slightly. “Your face looks like you have three question marks floating above your head. You really don’t like me, do you?”

Huh? Say that again?

I immediately stood on my tiptoes, grabbed Lysander’s collar, and kissed him hard.

Then, I whispered in his ear, “What’s with the ‘godly kiss’ nonsense? Next time, you do it yourself.”

And that’s when I saw it…

The crazy male lead was blushing.

In the end, I bought Lysander a fresh bouquet of roses and escorted him back home.

The next day, I had my first encounter with another twisted male lead. My boss was pushing me to meet the bare minimum of social media goals for the end-of-year KPI.

This plotline was familiar—I wrote a post where the female lead was an edgy livestreamer, dealing with a 1V3 situation, with the boss, Xavier Sterling, eventually becoming one of her closest allies.

To keep the story from falling apart, I opened my entertainment account to start a livestream. But to my surprise, my comment section went absolutely crazy first.

A woman claiming to be Xavier’s fiancée, the scheming Lydia, DM’d me, accusing me of seducing a married man. Half the comments were full of her hired trolls, all attacking me.

I distinctly remembered writing that Lydia was the one who took matters into her own hands and started insulting the female lead, while Xavier’s character was never supposed to have a fiancée.

So, I decided to let Lydia run wild for a bit and didn’t pay her any mind.

After all, I’m the chosen one, right? The one who listens to the voices of the side characters? The true author—let the bullets fly a little longer. I love watching the chaos.

Then, I realized none of the content I had written was even remotely presentable. It was all cringy, with awkward shots of waist twisting and leg-flashing. It was just… hitting new lows.

Thinking about my own post where the female lead was forced to complete hidden tasks, I decided to make all the risqué videos visible only to me and instead switched to a more wholesome livestream about cooking delicious dishes.

Perhaps my culinary skills were so mind-blowingly good that the comments started taking a wild turn:

“No way! Selena Vance is back to… wiping the table?”

“I swear, you just made a damn good-looking plate of fries, what the hell?”

“Wait, is that idiot back again? …What? Oh, the idiot is me?!”

“Grandma’s pity money for you, hurry up and get over here to cook me something good, ugh!”

And so on, the comments flooded in.

Seeing the livestream viewership rapidly approaching 500,000, I knew the most difficult guy to handle was about to come “flirting” my way.

As expected, a message from my manager suddenly popped up:

“Selena Vance, Mr. Sterling demands that you achieve ten times your current viewership within the next two days, or there will be consequences.”

Oh? Consequences?

I’m the author, I know how this story goes. The female lead ultimately fails. And the “consequences” are probably an S&M session with Xavier, full of all sorts of wild, steamy nonsense.

Fearing that Mr. Sterling might whip me to death during one of his S&M sessions, I decided to lose it for once.
