Chapter 1
The city streets were quiet, almost too quiet, for someone like me, someone who had learned to notice danger in the smallest movements. My heels clicked against the cobblestones, echoing in the narrow alleyway as I pulled my coat tighter around me. The night was cold, but there was something else in the air an electricity, a tension I couldn't name.
And then I saw him.
He was leaning against the brick wall at the corner, tall, impossibly broad, and still. Shadows clung to him like a cloak, but even in the dim light of the streetlamp, I could see the sharp line of his jaw, the intensity in his dark eyes. My heart stuttered, a pulse too fast to ignore, I froze.
He didn't move at first. He just watched. The kind of watching that feels like it sees through everything you're hiding-the kind that makes your skin prickle and your breath catch.
"Who's there?" I asked, my voice steadier than I felt.
He stepped forward, slow, deliberate. Every motion radiated control, power, and danger. I wanted to look away, but I couldn't. My body refused.
"You shouldn't be here," he said, low and smooth, the kind of voice that felt like velvet over steel.
"I... I live nearby," I managed, my fingers curling around my coat lapels.
He tilted his head, observing me like I was a puzzle he intended to solve. "I think you've noticed me," he said, almost amused.
I swallowed hard. "Maybe."
For a moment, the world narrowed to just us. The alley, the streetlamp, the cold air-they all disappeared. His presence was magnetic, impossible to ignore. And beneath it, I sensed something darker, something untamed hiding just beneath the surface, A low growl rolled in my chest no, not mine. His.
I froze again, terror and fascination colliding. There was something in him that didn't belong to the normal world. The city felt too small for the aura of danger he carried, and yet, here he was, watching me as if he'd been waiting for me all along. "I should go," I whispered, backing away.
"Not yet," he said, and for the first time, a corner of a smirk curved across his lips. "The night isn't done with you, Not yet. "The way he said it sent a shiver down my spine. Not the shiver of cold, but something hotter, something that hinted at danger and desire in equal measure.
I wanted to run. And at the same time... I wanted to stay, that was the moment I realized that whoever or whatever he was, my life was about to change forever.
The shadow in the alley moved closer, and even as my instincts screamed to flee, my heart betrayed me. There was no turning back now.
Not with him watching. Not with him waiting. Not with the dark, unspoken promise in his eyes that whispered, I'm yours if you dare.
He disappeared into the shadows, I felt goosebumps but I was desperate to know who or what he really is.

My family and fiancé begged me to donate my last remaining kidney to my twin sister, Kyleigh. They didn't know I was already dying.
My fiancé, Axel, gave me an ultimatum.
"Donate the kidney, or I'll break our engagement and marry Kyleigh. It's her dying wish."
I agreed, only for them to frame me for plagiarism with my own thesis, forcing me to confess on camera. They never knew I was the one who secretly saved our father with my other kidney five years ago-a sacrifice Kyleigh had stolen all the credit for.
As they wheeled me into the operating room, they celebrated with Kyleigh, promising her a future built on my death. I was already a ghost to them.
But I died on the table. The surgeon, seeing the old surgical scar and the poison riddling my body, walked out to face them.
"This wasn't a donation," she announced, her voice cold as steel. "This was murder."

It all started with one encounter.
One night with a man whose touch felt like sin and whose scent still haunts my skin.
I never meant to fall - but when I caught my boyfriend, the Alpha's son, cheating on me, something inside me broke.
And that's when he found me - a stranger cloaked in dominance and danger. His hands promised ruin, his lips whispered damnation.
I gave in. Just once.
Or so I thought.
Now, I've been hired as the Alpha's new secretary.
And when I walked into his office, the world stopped.
Because he's not a stranger.
He's him.
The man from that night.
The man I should have never touched.
The father of my ex.
I tell myself I can resist him - that I can keep my secret buried. But every time his gaze lingers, every time that deep, commanding voice wraps around my name, my resolve burns away.
This isn't love.
It's an obsession. Possession. Darkness disguised as desire.
And I know one thing for sure - once an Alpha sets his eyes on you...
He never lets go.

I thought my best friend Mila and my lover Preston were my only salvation from Essex Langley, the ruthless billionaire who kept me caged in his estate.
I trusted them blindly when they planned my grand escape.
But it was all a cruel setup.
Mila deliberately leaked the plan to Essex's guards to win his favor, and Preston only wanted my family's shares to pay off his massive debts.
When we were caught in the rose garden, Preston shoved me toward the guards and ran for his life.
"You're insane if you think I actually loved a freak like you!"
I was dragged back into the manor, my ribs cracking under heavy boots.
I bled out on the freezing marble floor, staring into Essex’s unhinged, mad eyes as I took my last agonizing breath.
Until the moment I died, I couldn't accept it.
I had ruined my own life, adopting a hideous punk look with fake tattoos and piercings just to make Essex hate me, all for two people who saw me as nothing but a sacrificial lamb.
Why was my blind rebellion rewarded with such a brutal betrayal?
Opening my eyes again, the white-hot pain was gone.
I was back in the freezing bedroom on my eighteenth birthday, the very night Mila would come to orchestrate my ruin.
I looked at the rebellious, smudged stranger in the mirror.
This time, I calmly washed off the black makeup, took out my lip ring, and put on a pristine white dress.
If fighting the devil got me killed, then in this life, I would tame him and make them all pay.

Six years ago, I stole from a stranger.
I was desperate, broken, and trying to save the only family I had left.
I never expected that stranger to be a billionaire.
Or that one reckless night would bind our lives forever.
Now he's back-powerful, haunted, and dangerous.
He doesn't remember me... but he remembers the theft.
I work in his hotel.
He signs my paychecks.
And the secret I've carried for six years could destroy us both.
He wants answers. I want redemption.
But when desire burns hotter than guilt, and the past refuses to stay buried, loving him might cost me everything, including the truth he deserves.

I died on a filthy bed in a back-alley clinic.
I willingly sacrificed my own corneas so the Mafia man I loved could see the light of day again.
But my soul was forced to stay behind, watching another woman claim my sacrifice as her own.
Dante reclaimed his throne as the Mafia boss. Believing the lie that I had abandoned him, he unleashed his vengeance upon my family.
"Where the hell is she hiding?"
He shattered my brother's hands and drove my mother to her death. He absolutely refused to believe the fact that I was already dead, convinced instead that I was just cowering from his wrath.
It wasn't until my medical records were thrown right in his face that Dante finally realized whose eyes he was using to look at the world.
The truth drove him completely insane.
He burned the whole world down just to beg for my forgiveness.
"Gianna, please wait for me!"
