Mr. Romeo's Unexpected Nanny's Wife Novel Cover

Mr. Romeo's Unexpected Nanny's Wife

"C'mon, Dad, we're going to be late for school!" Noel shouted at his father, who lay motionless on his bed. "Daddy! Daddy! I can't find my toothbrush!" Kayla screeched with excitement. No one knew what was so exciting about that. "Dad! Junior just peed on his bed... and he's crying so hard!" Janietta yelled from the baby's room. Mr. Romeo looked completely frustrated as he listened to their complaints. "What!" he shouted weakly, almost in tears. Gosh. These children were a handful. He pried his eyes open a little and gazed at the wall clock. "Fuc—" He cut himself off the moment he remembered the kids were in the room. It was almost 7:00 a.m. And he still needed to get them ready before eight, dress them, prepare their breakfast and lunch, and also get himself to work… all before 8:00 a.m. He quickly jumped out of bed and tied his robe. "The three of you, take off your clothes and line up in the bathroom. I'm bathing all of you at the same time," he instructed before dashing off to attend to his wailing nine-month-old baby. ?????? Meet 30-year-old David Romero. Father of four beautiful kids. And yes, a single dad. His children: Noel, 8; Kayla, 5; Janietta, 10; and Junior, a nine-month-old baby. They are a handful. He lost his precious wife during the delivery of his last baby precisely nine months ago. He has been taking care of his kids ever since, and trust me when I say it has been hell. His kids virtually have minds of their own. It is very hard for David to cope with all of this and his new job as the supervisor of Duvel Company. The responsibilities are simply more than he can handle. Getting a new wife would be hell, because his kids do not want a new mommy. What about a nanny? Duh. They definitely don’t want one either. To them, it’s supposed to be just them and their Daddy. But David is not ready to do this alone. He definitely needs assistance.

Chapter 5

ALICIA

I texted him thirty minutes ago, and he still hasn’t replied. Huh!

Didn’t he see it?

I huffed as I shut down my computer, looking both worried and angry at the same time.

I hate being snubbed.

David is my colleague and yes, the supervisor of Duvel Company. He’s a single dad.

A hot single dad. Mark the word HOT.

And of course, I like him so much.

I’ve always had a crush on him, long before his wife’s death.

And now that he’s single again, I see a green light waving a passage for me into his life.

I know he likes me too. I see the way he stares at me sometimes—especially when we eat lunch together.

He’s got such a sexy gaze, and anytime our eyes meet, my body begins to heat up. It feels like he performs magic on me, and I want him so much for myself.

I wonder why he still hasn’t asked me out. For the past nine months, I’ve been treating him to lunch and most times bringing him breakfast—ones I always buy on my way to work.

I don’t know how to cook. I never learned how. I didn’t see any reason to learn when you can buy cooked food almost everywhere around you.

I heard he has four kids too. I’ve even seen a photo of them once.

Four kids are way too much. Didn’t he practice family planning with his late wife?

I may like David a lot, but I literally don’t like kids. Most kids are annoying.

And to think David has four children!

Gosh!

Though I haven’t met any of them yet, from the looks on their faces in the picture, they’re probably not above eleven or twelve… so I can handle them.

They’re small. So they know nothing.

I’ll just have to shove them aside so they won’t come between me and David when I finally have him to myself.

Because David is so engrossed in them, and it baffles me a lot.

If only he could spend more of his time with me, and not with his kids.

Their mates are even in boarding school.

ROSIANA

Noel led me to the kitchen, and my eyes darted around in amazement.

It’s huge! And well organized.

The burners, gas cooker, stove, dishes… fridge… everything was neatly arranged.

“Take your apron,” Noel said, handing me a piece of cloth.

“Thanks.” I smiled.

I put mine on as I watched Kayla bring out two more aprons from the side shelf.

“Uh… Kayla. I’ll be needing just one, okay?” I chuckled softly.

“I know. I want to cook with you.”

“Yeah, me too,” Noel added as Kayla handed him one.

“But… sometimes the kitchen can be pretty dangerous for kids like you, and—”

“Who said I’m a kid? I’m not a baby, mi-lady,” he drawled, putting it on.

“Neither am I,” Kayla added, wearing her apron inside out.

I laughed at the sight and helped her adjust it.

“Are you sure you want to join me in cooking? What if your dad comes back and—”

“Forget my dad. I can handle him, alright?” Noel waved it off, looking so serious.

I didn’t want to argue much, so I let them be.

Besides, they look so cute in the aprons.

“So… what do you guys want for lunch?”

“Oh, I want pancakes!” Kayla squealed.

“Noted. What about you, Noel?”

“I want pancakes, mashed potatoes and fish stew… grilled chicken and tomato soup… oh, and yes! Macaroni and cheese and baked fillets!”

“How many can you eat?” I asked, surprised by the long list.

“All. I want all!”

“Hmm.” I shook my head.

“Okay… let’s start with the pancakes. Who knows where the flour and baking ingredients are?”

“Mee!!!” they chorused in excitement.

“What about potatoes and fresh tomatoes?”

“Yay! Yay! Me, I know!” Kayla ran to the fridge to get them.

“Alright. Let’s start cooking.”

I brought out the frying pans and pots.

JANIETTA

☃️ Twenty-Five Minutes Later ☃️

I sat on the couch watching my favorite cartoon.

It isn’t so interesting today because Noel and Kayla aren’t here with me. They’re with that stranger.

Noel is a big idiot, you know… and Kayla is just too innocent and sweet to know what’s right.

As long as food is involved, everyone is Noel’s friend.

I don’t like this lady at all. She’s too pretty, and I fear for my daddy.

I don’t want my dad to like her either. That’s why I’m acting this way toward her.

I do not want a second mummy!

And to think Noel and Kayla are in the kitchen with her.

Ugh! So annoying.

I instantly switched off the TV, which suddenly felt like noise to my hearing.

I’m hungry, and my stomach aches for food.

Why isn’t Dad back yet? And how long does it take to make a simple dish?

I lay on the couch and started counting the ceiling.

I don’t want to go into that kitchen. I’m so hungry, and I don’t want to show it either.

It’s best I go to my room and sleep until the food is served.

I got up from the couch and walked out of the sitting room into the passage.

My room is just a few doors away from here, and I hope—

Oh. My. God! What is that smell?

Where is it coming from??

I stopped walking and sniffed the savory aroma.

It smells so good and yummy! I felt my stomach twitch.

I’m hungry. I bit down on my lips.

I stood there sniffing, trying to satiate my hunger.

Roars of laughter echoed from the kitchen, and I knew they were having fun in there.

What if they’re eating already?

I can’t take this! I do not want to beg that lady for food, nor do I want her to know I’m desperately craving it. I don’t even want to show how hungry I am.

But wait…

This is my father’s house. Literally my house too, and my dad owns the kitchen—giving me equal rights.

I want to eat.

And that’s final. I can’t kill myself with hunger in my own house.

I’m simply going to walk in there and order her to give me food.

I decided that and marched toward the kitchen with a straight face, disrupting their little fun.

My eyes caught the different delicacies in the kitchen and the breathtaking aroma.

I can’t take this.

The three of them stared at me as I walked over to grab a plate from the sink. Then I walked to the lady… cleared my throat… and stared at her with a bossy expression.

“This is my father’s house, so I want you to dish out some food for me…”

My bossy tone soon melted as my stomach let out a loud growl.

I’m hungry.

“Pl…ease,” I said softly, staring at her with puppy eyes.

I stared at the screen, my fingers hovering over the keyboard as the footage played again. The dim lighting of the Brooklyn loft couldn't hide what was happening. Alexander—my Alexander—pressed Sophia Rodriguez against the wall, his hands tangled in her hair as he kissed her with a passion he'd never shown me. "Play it again," I whispered to myself, though no one else was in my penthouse study. The pain was exquisite, like pressing on a bruise to feel its boundaries. I clicked back thirty seconds and turned up the volume. "Victoria would kill to have you kiss her like that," Marcus's voice came through clearly, followed by his distinctive laugh. "Poor cougar's probably at home right now, counting her money and waiting for one of us to show up." "God, don't remind me." That was Ethan, sprawled on the leather couch just visible in the corner of the frame. "Last night she wanted me to stay over. Do you know how hard it is to pretend you're into someone when..." He shuddered dramatically.
Five Years into Marriage, His Mistress Brought Me His Child Novel Cover
8.6
A woman burst through, her desperate strength overwhelming the startled guards. She was nothing like the polished guests surrounding us. Her clothes were simple, worn—a faded cardigan over a plain dress that had seen better days. Her dark hair hung limp around a face etched with exhaustion and something deeper: desperation. But it was the child that made my breath catch. A small boy, maybe five years old, clung to her hand. His skin had that translucent pallor I'd seen in hospital charity visits—the look of serious illness. His eyes, too large for his thin face, swept the glittering crowd with a mixture of wonder and fear. The woman's gaze locked onto something behind me, and I felt William's hand tighten against my back. "William!" Her voice cracked like a whip across the suddenly silent room. "William Fitzgerald!" Every camera in the room swiveled toward us. William's face had drained of all color, his jaw slack. The confident Wall Street titan who commanded boardrooms and closed billion-dollar deals looked like he'd seen a ghost. "How could you?" The woman's voice rose, raw with anguish. "How could you just abandon us? He's dying, William. Your son is dying, and you won't even return my calls!" The words hit me like physical blows. Son? My husband William's son?
His Unwanted Wife Is A Top Scientist Novel Cover

For four years, I played the perfect, naive, low-income wife to my wealthy husband Duke, completely hiding my true identity as a top-secret DARPA scientist. On our anniversary, I discovered he was having an affair with an old-money socialite named Adelia. He used our marital assets to buy her a half-million-dollar Birkin bag, but that wasn't the worst part. While hiding in a parking garage, I recorded him telling his mistress that the daily prenatal vitamins he lovingly gave me were actually high-dose contraceptives. He had secretly sterilized me to ensure I would never produce a "low-class" heir, planning to toss me aside with a tiny settlement in six months. When I confronted him, he violently attacked me, smashed my head against a marble dresser, and locked me in our bedroom. I thought of the four years I spent crying in doctors' offices, blaming my own body for my infertility, while he held my hand and comforted me with perfect, monstrous concern. I didn't wait to be punished. I climbed down the second-story balcony in the dark, leaving behind every diamond and luxury bag he had ever given me. Sitting in the back of a taxi, I wiped the blood from my forehead and opened a secure app on my phone. "Divorce fraud. Initiate sequence." It was time for him to finally meet Dr. Patterson.

The conference room erupted with cheers as I closed my laptop. Thirty million dollars. The largest deal in FosterTech's history, and I'd just secured it with a signature and a handshake over video call. "To Victoria!" My senior project manager, Liam, raised his coffee mug in a mock toast. "The woman who just saved all our jobs for another year!" The team gathered around, clinking mugs and water bottles against mine. Their faces glowed with relief and admiration. This deal meant bonuses, stability, and growth—everything we'd been working toward for months. "You're a machine, Vic," Sarah from marketing whispered, squeezing my shoulder. "I don't know how you do it." I smiled, but my eyes drifted to my phone, checking for messages. Nothing from Ethan yet.
Pregnancy Amidst Cruelty Novel Cover

The sound of shattering crystal still echoed in my ears as I knelt before Arlet's portrait, my knees raw against the marble floor. Three months had passed since that terrible wedding day, three months of this daily ritual that Kian insisted would cleanse my family's sins. The girl in the painting gazed down at me with painted eyes that seemed to mock my suffering—beautiful, ethereal Arlet, who had chosen death over a life that included my existence. "Your penance is not yet complete," Kian's voice cut through the silence like a blade. He stood behind me, close enough that I could feel the heat of his anger radiating against my back. "Your family destroyed her. They drove her to jump from this very house." I wanted to scream that we had done nothing, that my father had been an honorable man, that my mother had never spoken an unkind word about anyone. But the words died in my throat as they always did. What was the point? Kian's grief had transformed into something monstrous, and I was the convenient target for his rage.
