Chapter 7

SABASTAIN'S POV

"Ariana," my mouth fell open seeing her before me, as I couldn't believe my eyes.

The same Ariana, my ex-wife, I thought, as I started around her, while she frowned immediately.

"What the hell are you doing here, and who brought you here?" She asked me, while moving away from me, making me sighed softly.

"Dylan invited me," I managed to say.

"You both know each other?" Dylan asked, making me sigh softly and she agreed to know me.

"I guess you both have bad memories about each other, since you are acting this way." Dylan said,

"Dylan, is he the one you want me to see?" She asked him, while he nodded in agreement.

"Well I'm not interested in seeing him, I'm out of here," she said, and with that she stormed off leaving just me and Dylan.

I quickly turned to Dylan, before he could leave, and held him in the hand, as I turned to him fully.

"Dylan, who is she?" I asked him, while he sighed softly.

"She is the heiress of the swan family, and she is also my fiancee." Dylan responded to my question, making me swallow hard.

"Wait, does that mean she was the one you were telling me about?" I asked him, while he nodded softly, making me widen my eyes in disbelief.

"I guess you both have a bad history together," Dylan said, making me nod my head recalling how we had treated her back at my family house.

We weren't really nice to her, that was the actual truth, and I really regretted it.

"So that means she wouldn't be willing to do business with you then," Dylan said, making me nod again in agreement.

"Oh that's so bad, because she was really the big shot here, and she won't be willing to do business with you again," Dylan stated, making me take a deep breath.

"I guess so," I said sadly, as he sighs softly.

"Anyway just enjoy the party, I will be with her right now," he said while I just signed him to go, as he walked away from where I was standing, and I couldn't help but just sighed softly.

I walked outside the party feeling so down and annoyed for not fighting for her, while she was with me back in my mansion. Now I knew I was never going to get her again.

I was still dwelling in my thoughts, and totally regretting all my actions and that of my mother's and sister, when I felt a hand tapped me.

I turned around only to see Valarie and my mother. My face turned into a frown immediately, as I stared at both of them.

"What do you both want here?" I asked them, while they just kept calm. Making me swallow hard as I repeated my question.

"Son the big party is going on inside and you are here why?" Mum asked me, making my frown deepen, as I quickly screamed at them to leave here now.

But I try to stop myself from screaming and continue trying to hold myself back.

"Come on brother, have you forgotten that you have a big shot deal tonight?" Valarie reminded me, making me decide Within me that I was time to talk.

"Well there will be no business deal anymore with any big shot," I said, as they both stared at me with a questioning gaze.

"Why?" They inquired, while I just stared from one to the other knowing fully well that what I was about to say would really be so shocking to them, as I cleared my throat.

"Well the big shot is actually no one else but Ariana," I voiced out, making they look at me.

"Which Ariana are you talking about?" Mum asked me, making me smile.

"Ariana my ex-wife," I responded to her, making her gasp.

"What!" Valarie exclaimed, widened her eyes in disbelief.

"No this can't be, how will it even be possible?" mum asked, as she couldn't still bring herself to believe what I had just said.

"Mum you have to believe it, because that's actually the truth," I told her, making him open her mouth so wide.

"Oh no, this isn't good at all," mum lamented, while I just sigh softly.

"Yes mum it isn't good at all," I repeated after her.

"Why don't you talk to Dylan to see if he could help you convince her to do business with you," Valarie suggested, making me sigh softly.

"She looked upset when she saw me, and Dylan already made it clear to me that since I have a bad relationship with her then she won't be doing anything business with me," I responded to her, while they all took a deep breath.

"Oh my goodness this isn't good at all," Valarie sighed.

"So what do we do now?" Mum asked me, making me sighed softly, as I kept calm for a while thinking about what I could do to make Ariana want to do business with me.

Ariana was actually a heiress all this while, but I never knew, but how and why did she decide to hide it away from me? This question popped into my head, as I continue trying to get a solution to my problem.

"I think we should all go and apologise to her, and plead for her forgiveness, because we have really wronged her," I suggested, making them sighed softly, as they looked up at me.

"Do you think she would be willing to forgive us?" Valarie asked me, making me sighed softly.

"We have really done so many terrible things to her, when you got married to her," mum said, while I just took a deep breath.

"I really don't know if she would be willing to forgive us, but there is no harm in trying, so let's just give it a trial," I suggested, making them sighed.

"Okay then what are we waiting for," Mum said, while I turned to Valarie who was still thinking.

"Valarie let's get going," I tapped her gently, as she looked up at me, making me realise she was in tears.

"I did so many terrible things to her, and I don't think she could forgive me so easily," Valarie cried, while I swallowed hard, realising she might be right.

"Ariana is a nice person, maybe she might forgive us, let's just give it a trial first," mum said, making me sigh softly, as I turned to Valarie who was now wiping her tears.

Without any hesitation we all made our way back into the party, and started searching for Ariana. We couldn't find her anywhere, making me sighed softly as I made my way to Dylan.

"Where is Ariana, I have been searching for her for quite a while now," I told him, while he sighed softly, and looked up at me.

"Why are you searching for her?" He asked me, making me swallow the leap in my throat.

"I wanted to talk to her about the little difference we have, and also try to settle it." I told him truthfully, while he sighs.

"Hmm," he exhaled, and stared at me for a while.

"Please just tell us where she is, we really need to see her, it's really important we meet her," mum spoke from behind me.

"Okay, but you would have to wait for sometime before you can see her, because she is having a meeting with her parents right now," Dylan said, making me sighed softly realising that was the reason she wasn't around here.

"Oh okay then, we will wait for her just as you have said," mum said, while Dylan just sighed and excused himself.

I really couldn't help but feel so bad all over again. I have really hurt her so much, and I didn't know how to start pleading with her at the moment, but I'm going to drop my ego today and do the right thing.

She deserves an apology for all the wrong we have done to her. I thought within myself, as I hoped she would show up soon.

"Why don't you come and have a drink with me as you are waiting for her to come back from her meeting with her parents," Dylan Suggested snapping me out of my thoughts, as I turned to him, realising he was back behind me.

"Okay, I think I like that idea," I said, and he smiled.

"So shall we," he said with a smile plastered on his face.

"Yes of course," I responded while walking behind him, as he finally took me to a table.

We had our seats as he turned to me. "What drink do you want?" He asked me, making me keep calm for a while.

"Champagne will be just fine," I told him, while he smiled immediately.

"I was hoping you would say that, because that's exactly what I wanted to have as well," he said, and quickly brought the bottle of champagne closer to himself.
