Me And My Alpha Had A Revenge Plan

Three years of sacrifice, secrets, and survival lead Evadne Ruther back to the heart of the Windsor pack—only to watch the man she loves publicly reject her. As Alpha Ajax reclaims his birthright, he casts aside Evadne, the rogue-turned-Delta who stood beside him in exile, choosing the venomous Primrose Hubsburg as his Luna. Together, Ajax and Evadne are playing a dangerous game to expose the ones responsible for the murder of Ajax's sister, Mia—a crime carefully disguised as suicide. Surrounded by scheming Omegas, whispered rumors, and public humiliation, Evadne wears her mark like armor. Every insult, every cruel smile from Primrose, is one more step toward revenge. But as the lines between duty and emotion blur, Evadne must hold fast to the promise she made: Justice for Mia. Justice for her unborn child.

Chapter 1

I stood beside Ajax, my face a mask of calm while my heart thundered in my chest. The grand hall of the Windsor pack house glittered with celebration lights, packed with wolves celebrating Ajax's triumphant return to power. Three years of struggle, of dancing in seedy clubs to earn money, of plotting and planning and sacrificing—all leading to this moment when he reclaimed his rightful place as Alpha.

I should have been ecstatic. Instead, I was steeling myself for what was to come.

Ajax's hand squeezed mine briefly—our secret signal. It was time.

He stepped forward, his powerful presence immediately commanding silence from the crowd. His dark hair caught the light, his shoulders squared with the authority that was his birthright. I'd watched him transform from a broken, exiled heir to this magnificent Alpha, and despite everything, pride swelled within me.

"My loyal pack," Ajax's voice resonated through the hall. "Today marks not just my return, but the beginning of a new era for the Windsor wolves."

Cheers erupted, glasses raised in celebration. I caught sight of Orion at the edge of the crowd, his handsome face twisted with barely concealed rage. Beside him, Primrose Hubsburg simpered, her golden curls bouncing as she whispered something in his ear. My stomach clenched at the sight of them together—the murderers of the woman who had saved my life.

For you, Mia. All of this is for you.

"As your Alpha," Ajax continued, his voice dropping to a tone that made the crowd lean forward, "I must make decisions that ensure our pack's strength and future."

His eyes, those deep blue eyes that had looked at me with such tenderness in private, now turned cold as they landed on me.

"Evadne Ruther has served me well during my exile."

The words sliced through me despite my preparation. Served. Like a tool, not a partner.

"However," Ajax's voice hardened, "a former rogue, a Delta, cannot be the Luna this pack deserves."

Gasps rippled through the crowd. I felt dozens of eyes turn to me, filled with pity, shock, and in some cases, smug satisfaction. I kept my chin high, my face impassive, though inside I was reliving that moment years ago—finding Mia's body, her pregnant belly still with the child that would never breathe, the staged evidence of suicide that only I knew was murder.

"The Windsor bloodline requires purity and strength," Ajax declared, turning toward Primrose who stepped forward with practiced grace, her Omega scent sweet and cloying. "Primrose Hubsburg comes from a noble lineage that will strengthen our pack. She will be my Luna."

Primrose's smile was radiant as she took Ajax's extended hand. The perfect picture of the Alpha and his chosen mate. I saw the triumph glittering in her eyes as she glanced at me, expecting to see me crumble.

I didn't give her the satisfaction. Instead, I bowed my head slightly, the picture of acceptance, while inside I repeated the mantra that had kept me going: Justice for Mia. Justice for her unborn child.

"The marking ceremony will proceed tomorrow as tradition demands," Ajax announced, his voice betraying no emotion. "Evadne will remain as my marked mate until a proper dissolution can be arranged."

More whispers. More pitying glances. Elder Kaelen Vance watched from his seat of honor, his ancient eyes missing nothing. I wondered what he saw when he looked at me—a pathetic, discarded rogue, or something more?

Later that night, as I prepared for the marking ceremony in my chambers, I allowed myself one moment of vulnerability. I pressed my forehead against the cool glass of the window, remembering Mia's gentle hands braiding my wild hair when she first brought me in from the wilderness.

"You're safe now, little wolf," she'd whispered. "No one will hurt you again."

But they had hurt her. And for that, they would pay.

A soft knock at my door announced Ajax's arrival. When we were alone, his cold mask slipped away, revealing the man I truly knew—tortured by his sister's death, driven by the same thirst for justice that consumed me.

"Are you ready?" he asked softly, his fingers brushing mine in the shadows.

"I've been ready for three years," I replied.

The marking ceremony was a blur of ancient words and ritual movements. I felt the eyes of the pack on us, their confusion palpable as Ajax performed the sacred bonding with a woman he had publicly rejected. His teeth grazed my neck in the ritual bite, sending shivers down my spine despite everything.

This was not how I had once dreamed it would be. But dreams were luxuries neither of us could afford.

Afterward, as tradition dictated, we should have retired to our chambers to complete the bond. Instead, Ajax escorted me to the door of my room, his face once again the cold mask of the Alpha.

"Rest well," he said loudly enough for the lingering witnesses to hear. Then he turned and walked away, heading toward the wing where Primrose waited.

I closed the door behind me, alone on what should have been my bonding night. Through the window, I could see the pack house lit up, shadows moving as gossip spread about the Alpha who had abandoned his marked mate for an Omega.

Let them talk. Let Primrose believe she had won. Let Orion think Ajax was as cruel and power-hungry as himself.

They didn't know that every whisper, every humiliation, every moment of this charade brought us one step closer to exposing their crimes.

I touched the mark on my neck, still fresh and tingling. Not a symbol of love as it should have been, but a promise between two broken people united by grief and purpose.

Justice was coming. And it would be worth every sacrifice.

At 3:12 AM, a call from the NYPD shattered the silence of my dorm. My childhood sweetheart and the city’s golden heir, Liam Sterling, was in custody and needed me to bail him out. I rushed to the precinct, trembling as I swiped my father’s emergency credit card for five thousand dollars, only to watch Liam walk out and head straight for another woman. He had landed in a cell because he’d started a brawl to protect Jade—a girl with pink hair and a jagged attitude—while I was just the "best friend" he called to clean up his mess. In the backseat of the cab I paid for, I watched the man I loved pull her into his lap, treating me like an invisible chauffeur. When I finally demanded the truth, he didn't apologize; he reminded me that our families were tied by a multi-million dollar merger and that I was "like a sister" to him. My own mother echoed his coldness, telling me to stop being dramatic because our family was secretly bankrupt and we needed the Sterling money to survive. I spent years being his "good girl," even recording a fake video for the press claiming he was a hero who fought to defend my honor. But the illusion shattered when I saw the photos of him with Jade on my birthday—the same night he told me he was working late to secure our future. "I love you, Zoe. Like I love my dog. You’re loyal, but you’re boring." I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was his shield. He used the trauma of the day he "saved" my life to keep me in his debt, never realizing that the chains of gratitude had finally snapped. As the Sterling empire began to crumble under a sudden leak of scandals, I didn't run back to Liam. Instead, I looked at the encrypted message from his dangerous, outcast brother, Julian, who had been waiting in the shadows. He didn't just offer me a way out; he offered to buy my family's debt and claim me as the collateral.
