Marrying My Ex's Ruthless Uncle Novel Cover

Marrying My Ex's Ruthless Uncle

I'm Kailee Lynn. On the night of my engagement party, my fiancé Julian left me standing alone in front of every wealthy guest in the city, humiliating me without a single shred of mercy. I became the biggest laughingstock of high society overnight, written off as a nobody from a small town with no status, no backing, and no right to stand among them. Everyone looked down on me, convinced I was weak and easy to push around. But I've never been one to swallow insults or accept defeat. Instead of fleeing in shame, I turned and walked straight toward the darkest, most intimidating figure in the entire banquet hall-Ervin Hendricks, the reclusive and ruthless fifth heir of the powerful Hendricks family. Rumors followed him everywhere: they said he was confined to a wheelchair, cold-blooded, dangerously unhinged, and cruel enough to ruin anyone who crossed him. The entire room held its breath, certain I was walking straight to my doom. I lifted my chin, met his sharp gaze steadily, and spoke in a calm, unshakable tone: "Ervin Hendricks. Marry me. I'll clear every obstacle in your path and help you seize everything that belongs to you. In return, you'll stand by my side and shield me from this world's cruelty." In the blink of an eye, I went from Julian's discarded fiancée to his aunt by marriage, the official Mrs. Hendricks. The whole town waited eagerly to watch me break down, to see me suffer at Ervin's hands and beg for mercy. They had no clue I was hiding far more than they could ever imagine. I'm the elite medical genius that top hospitals beg to consult, the unbeatable hacker who can crack any system in minutes, the hidden tycoon pulling strings behind global empires, and the secret powerhouse even the most elite families dare not cross. One by one, my true identities were unveiled, and every person who once mocked me fell silent, bowing to my power. As for Julian? He watched me rise from a social outcast to the most feared and respected woman in the city, standing proudly beside the all-powerful Ervin Hendricks. Meanwhile, his own fortune crumbled, his reputation was in tatters, and the life he'd chased after leaving me turned into a complete disaster. He was consumed by regret, so desperate he lost his mind. He chased me down at every high-society event, his eyes red with guilt and desperation, pleading for forgiveness, groveling to take back every cruel word, begging me to give him a second chance. He whined about how he'd made the worst mistake of his life, how he'd thrown away the only person who could have made him truly successful. I felt nothing but cold contempt for him. You cast me aside like worthless trash when you thought I had nothing to offer. You chose arrogance and greed over loyalty, and now you think a few empty apologies can erase that? I didn't even spare him a glance, simply linking my arm through Ervin's and stepping past him without a second thought. And then, the man everyone believed would never walk again suddenly rose from his wheelchair, pulled me tight against his chest, and whispered in a deep, soft, and utterly possessive voice that only I could hear: "Kailee. You're my little treasure, my only obsession, and the only person I'll ever love and protect with everything I have." This life, I'm taking down every enemy that wronged me, dominating every circle I step into, and making the most powerful man in the city wrap himself entirely around my finger.

Chapter 2

The heavy satin of the wedding dress rustled against the carpet, Kailee walked fast.

Chaya jogged to keep up, her tablet clutched to her chest. A notification pinged.

Chaya looked down at the tablet, her face went from pale to ash gray.

"Oh no," Chaya whispered.

She tapped the screen, a video expanded. The audio was tinny, echoing in the long hotel corridor.

"Screw the family merger!" Julian's voice. Slurred. Drunk. "Tonight is for the boys! And the real girls!"

The camera swung wildly. It showed the interior of a VIP suite-the one three floors above them. Julian's face filled the frame, sweaty and red. He pulled Annabelle into the shot. She was giggling, her dress strap falling off her shoulder.

"Say hi to my boring sister!" Annabelle shrieked, kissing Julian's cheek.

Chaya clamped her hand over her mouth. "He's live. He's streaming this. He forgot to set it to Close Friends."

Kailee stopped, she turned around and took the tablet.

She watched the man she was supposed to marry in twenty minutes groping her younger sister, them laugh at her name.

She tapped the screen. Screen Record, then she handed the tablet back to Chaya.

"Send this to the audio-visual booth in the ballroom," Kailee said. "Tell them to hold it in the queue. Standby."

Chaya stammered. "You... you're going to play this? At the wedding?"

"Do it."

Kailee turned to the elevator bank, she pressed the button for the Penthouse Executive Lounge.

"Kailee, you can't go up there," Chaya hissed, looking around for security. "That's Hendricks territory, it's restricted. Ervin Hendricks is... he's dangerous."

"If you want a job tomorrow, stop talking."

The elevator dinged. The doors slid open.

Two men in black suits blocked the entrance.

Kailee didn't flinch. "Tell Ervin Hendricks I have a solution to his board problem," she said.

The guard on the left blinked, he touched his earpiece. He murmured something low, indistinguishable.

Silence stretched for ten seconds.

The guard stepped aside. "Mr. Hendricks will see you."

Kailee stepped into the elevator. The doors closed, sealing her in.

The Executive Lounge was dim. In the corner, a silhouette sat on a high-backed chesterfield sofa. A glowing ember of a cigar floated in the darkness.

Ervin Hendricks didn't stand up. He didn't offer a greeting. He sat with the stillness of a predator waiting for movement.

Kailee walked toward him.

"The bride," Ervin's voice was gravel, deep and scraping. "You're supposed to be downstairs, crying into a handkerchief."

"Julian is gone," Kailee said. She stopped three feet from him. "I need a groom."

Ervin laughed. It was a dry, sharp sound. "And you came shopping here? You think I'm a spare part, Ms. Lynn?"

"I think you're a businessman," Kailee said.

She took a step closer. She could see his face now-sharp angles, eyes that looked like black glass. She lowered her voice.

"I know your board is implementing a new ethics and morality clause next month. I know they're using your 'personal life' as leverage to block your acquisitions. They want a stable, traditional family man. You don't have one, you don't have time to find one."

Ervin's smile vanished. The air in the room dropped ten degrees.

Viktor, the guard in the shadows, took a step forward, his hand moving to his jacket.

Kailee didn't look at the gun, she looked at Ervin.

"Marry me," she said. "I'm the solution. I'm being investigated as part of my family's financial scandal. That means I'm already under a dozen NDAs. I'm legally incentivized to be silent, stable, and spotless in public. I am the perfect, controllable, temporary wife, and in return for your legal protection and clearing my name, I will sign over the voting shares in my trust. The ones that give you a controlling interest in the Lynn-Hendricks merger."

Ervin stared at her. The cigar smoke curled around his face. He looked at her dress, then at her eyes. He was looking for fear.

He didn't find any.

"The shares," Ervin repeated softly.

"And my complete, legally-bound silence," Kailee said. "A perfect public image for you. A lifeline for me."

The CEO's Pregnant Genius: No Escape Novel Cover

I spent six years as a "shadow asset" for the Holmes family, a brilliant scholar living in a cramped Queens apartment on a secret scholarship. I was their silent investment, a ghost in their machine, until the day a fluorescent orange eviction notice appeared on my door. The legal documents from Holmes Holdings were brutal. They were terminating my sponsorship and demanding immediate repayment of every cent of my tuition. The reason was buried in the fine print: a moral turpitude clause. I was pregnant with a Holmes heir, and in their world, that made me a liability that needed to be erased. Ingram Holmes, the family’s cold-blooded CEO, didn't see a woman; he saw a line item on a balance sheet. He offered me a million dollars to disappear, abort the child, and sign away my existence. He had me escorted to a private clinic like a criminal, ready to finalize my erasure. But the plan shattered when his grandmother, the matriarch of the family, collapsed in a sudden cardiac arrest. As the doctors failed, I stepped out of the shadows. I diagnosed the toxicity they couldn't see and brought her back from the brink of death. I wasn't the helpless charity case they expected. I was a genius who knew their medical secrets better than their own surgeons. "Who are you?" Ingram growled, pinning me against a desk in his frozen office. I didn't blink. I had just secured the family's ancient signet ring and a seat at their table. Now, I’m living in his manor, sharing his bed, and holding the keys to the vault that contains their darkest sins. "I'm the problem you can't afford to solve," I whispered. The game has changed. I’m no longer the asset—I’m the hunter.
