Lost to a Playful Companion

Kyle's childhood playmate Anna and I were both attacked by Rogue. For Anna's reputation, he lied that she was accidentally injured during training. And I became the shame who was kidnapped by Rogue and was considered dirty. Facing my questioning, Kyle coaxed me softly: "Anna has been a noble since she was a child, and she can't bear such rumors. Dear, you and I know that you are stronger than her." Looking at Kyle, whom I have loved for ten years, my heart is full of bitterness. Later, the elders thought that I tarnished the reputation of Silvercrest Pack. On the day they forced me to leave, he was busy healing Anna's wounds. When he found out, I had already disappeared. Kyle, now, I don't want you.

Chapter 3

I wiped the tears off my face and took a deep breath.

"Then let me leave, we cancel the Mate bond."

"No, Adele, my Mate can only be you."

Kyle covered his chest, his voice full of sorrow.

Then, Kyle left sadly.

The next day, there were more than a dozen guards around my residence, and he didn't let me go out.

He confiscated my phone and cut off my contact with the outside world.

I don't understand why he didn't want Anna to suffer any grievances.

Why did he keep this Mate he didn't care about.

I was trapped here by Kyle and spent a long period of recovery.

Until one day, a team of cleaning staff came here.

When they saw me, they sneered:

"Some people are really thick-skinned. They were kidnapped by Rogue, how dare they occupy Kyle's Mate position! Miss Anna and Kyle can bear it!"

Another cleaning staff coughed unconsciously, looking at me with contempt in his eyes.

"Okay, you're not afraid of dirtying your eyes after looking at this kind of person for a long time, so hurry up and clean up."

The group of people started cleaning up, and deliberately threw the dust and spider webs at me.

Seeing that there was no one around, Anna suddenly put away her weak posture.

"Do you think you are great because you are the Mate chosen by Moon Goddess? Look at your current situation, you can't even get the most basic respect." She said contemptuously, "Do you know why? Because you are not worthy of Kyle at all."

I looked at her coldly: "You are right, I am indeed not worthy of such an Alpha."

For some reason, this sentence stimulated her, and she wanted to come over and hit me.

In order to avoid being hit, I threw the remaining water on the table at her.

The water droplets splashed her carefully selected beautiful dress.

"Help! Adele is going to kill Anna!" Joy, the assistant Kyle had just assigned to Anna, screamed, "She poisoned the water!"

Kyle rushed over and saw this scene, worry flashed in his eyes.

"Adele, how could you do this?" He asked softly, with a distressed tone, "I know you are jealous, but you have to believe me, the person I love most will always be you."

I was numb and even too lazy to smile bitterly.

"Sir, look how vicious she is!" Joy knelt down and cried, "If I hadn't discovered it in time, Miss Anna would have been injured."

Anna lay on the ground sobbing: "Kyle, I'm so scared."

Kyle checked the glass of water and confirmed that it was just ordinary water.

He gently embraced me in his arms: "Adele, I know you are not such a person. But for Anna's safety, you can temporarily live in a remote place for the next few days, okay? When the storm is over, I will pick you up."

"That's it?" Joy insisted, "She wants to harm Miss Anna!"

"I have my own plan." Kyle said softly, "Adele needs to be quiet. I have asked someone to clean up the small house next to the water dungeon. Although the environment is a bit poor, it can at least calm her down."

He walked in front of me and gently wiped away the non-existent tears on my face: "Why do you do this? You know I love you the most."

"Because I finally see clearly." I said calmly, "Your love has always been just talk."

Finally, I was taken to the small house next to the water dungeon. It is damp and cold here all year round, and thick water beads are on the walls.

Kyle comes to see me every day, bringing the most expensive supplements and saying the most gentle love words. He said that when I admit my mistakes, he will let me move back to my original room.

But I know that from the moment he used gentle lies to cover up the hurt, it was over between us.

An Alpha who can't even give the most basic trust is not worth my continued waiting.

The full moon hung like a silver medallion in the night sky, casting an ethereal glow over the Silvermoon Pack's gathering grounds. I stood beside Cayden, my fingers intertwined with his, feeling the strength of his Alpha presence beside me. For five years, this had been our ritual—standing together as fated mates before our pack during the sacred lunar cycle. "Are you comfortable?" I whispered to Cayden, noticing his tense shoulders. "You've been distracted all evening." He squeezed my hand but didn't meet my eyes. "Just pack business on my mind." Before I could press further, a collective gasp rippled through the crowd. Heads turned toward the entrance of our gathering grounds, where a slender figure stood silhouetted against the moonlight. My wolf stirred within me, a low growl building in my chest. *Something's wrong.* The woman stepped forward, her movements hesitant and unsteady. Even from a distance, I could see her pale face and trembling hands.

The morning light filtered through the curtains of our bedroom, casting golden streaks across the empty space beside me. On the day I left, Alpha Kayden stood silently to the side, watching as I folded the few belongings I had into the small bag I’d brought with me when I first arrived at the Silver Moon Pack’s mansion. He stepped closer, his Alpha aura faintly brushing against me, and said in a calm voice, “There’s no need to rush. The envoy won’t arrive for a few more days.” I wrapped a familiar pen in a handkerchief before looking up at him. “Today is a good day for travel. I don’t have much, so it won’t take long to pack.” It was too calm. Too easy. Compared to the messy rejections or affairs among the high-ranking wolves, my departure from the Silver Moon Pack was just a few words and a rejection letter. I carefully wiped down my old books and placed them in the corner of the bag, wondering if I’d forgotten anything. I didn’t notice the two Omegas’ contracts clutched in his hand. After a long hesitation, he finally stepped forward and offered them to me.

Leighton Gilbert, the Gamma of our pack, urged me to find my mate, Jaxson Mendoza, a Delta warrior who had experience with explosives. But I shook my head, refusing to go. In my past life, I had run ten kilometers to the nearest town to drag Jaxson away from his date with Camryn Lawrence, a manipulative Beta, and begged him to save Kensley. Kensley was saved, but Camryn was later killed by her ex-mate in a rogue attack. Jaxson had praised me in front of others, but on the anniversary of Camryn’s death, he used the same landmine to blow me to pieces. “Why didn’t you die instead? Go to hell and atone for Camryn!” he had screamed. Now, reborn, I let Jaxson and Camryn enjoy their lavish meal at the finest diner in town. But when he found out what had happened at home, he would regret it deeply.
