Live Stream Death Game:beyond humanity

Millions watch as a group of strangers awaken inside a living structure, their memories erased and the walls pulsing like a heartbeat. A mysterious livestream system thrusts them into brutal psychological death games where fear itself is weaponized. At first, survival means obeying rules and passing trials. But the deeper they descend, the more reality unravels. Memories vanish, emotions bleed between minds, and the system begins synchronizing their thoughts, fears, and identities. Then the horrifying truth surfaces: the system isn't trying to kill humanity—it's trying to evolve it beyond individuality itself. Now the players face an impossible choice: die as humans, or survive as something else entirely. Survival is not enough. Remaining human is.

Chapter 3

The silence that followed the first elimination was worse than the scream.

Aria couldn’t move.

Her eyes remained fixed on the empty space where the boy had stood just moments ago. One second, he had been alive terrified, begging, fighting for something as basic as another breath. The next…

Gone.

As if he had never existed at all.

Her stomach twisted violently, nausea rising sharp and sudden in her throat.

“This isn’t a game…” she whispered, her voice hollow and distant even to her own ears. “This is execution.”

Above her, the screen flickered back to life, cold and unfeeling as ever.

ROUND 1 COMPLETE

NEXT PHASE INITIATING…

A low mechanical hum spread through the chambers, vibrating faintly beneath her feet.

Aria’s body tensed immediately, every nerve on edge. “What now…?” she breathed.

Across from her, PLAYER 001 CLASSIFIED hadn’t moved.

But something about him had changed.

He wasn’t just observing anymore.

He was waiting.

The system voice returned, smoother than ever almost pleased.

“Congratulations, participants.”

A pause.

“You have survived your first vote.”

Aria’s hands clenched into fists at her sides.

Survived.

The word felt wrong twisted into something it shouldn’t be, like she was meant to feel pride instead of horror.

“Now,” the voice continued, “we increase engagement.”

A chill slid down her spine.

Engagement?

The screen split into multiple panels, each displaying different participants. Some were crying openly, their faces streaked with tears. Others had gone completely silent, shock hollowing them out from the inside. A few were already breaking mentally unraveling under the pressure.

Then a new message appeared.

PHASE 2: INTERACTION ROUND

Aria frowned, unease tightening her chest. “What does that mean…?”

The answer came immediately.

“Participants will now be given the opportunity to influence audience perception.”

Her breath caught.

Influence?

“How?” she asked under her breath.

The system responded anyway.

“By making choices.”

The floor beneath her shifted slightly, and a sleek black panel rose smoothly in front of her, its surface glowing faintly. Aria hesitated before stepping closer, her reflection staring back at her—pale, shaken, but still standing.

Then the panel lit up.

CHOOSE:

[A] SAVE ANOTHER PLAYER

[B] SACRIFICE SOMEONE FOR BONUS VOTES

[C] REVEAL A PERSONAL SECRET

Aria froze, her heartbeat slamming violently against her ribs.

“No…” she whispered. “You can’t be serious.”

But the system didn’t answer.

It didn’t need to.

The audience already had.

Comments flooded the screen, relentless and chaotic:

Pick sacrifice!!

Let’s see if she’s selfish.

Secrets are boring. Kill someone.

Aria stepped back as if the panel might burn her.

“They’re insane…” she muttered, shaking her head.

Across from her, the masked man finally spoke.

“Pick carefully.”

Her head snapped toward him. “Are you kidding me? There is no ‘carefully’ here!”

“There is,” he replied calmly.

Aria let out a sharp, bitter laugh. “Oh really? Which option keeps me human?”

His silence answered her.

None of them.

Her throat tightened painfully as she turned back to the panel.

Three choices.

All wrong.

All dangerous.

Her hands trembled as she forced herself to think.

“If I save someone…” she said slowly, “the audience might like it…”

“They might,” he agreed.

“But?”

“They may also find you predictable.”

Her jaw clenched.

“And if I sacrifice someone?” she asked, her voice barely steady.

“They’ll love you.”

The words hit like a slap.

Aria swallowed hard, her stomach twisting. “And hate me at the same time.”

“Yes.”

Her chest rose and fell unevenly.

“And the secret?”

This time, he paused longer before answering.

“They’ll get attached,” he said quietly.

“Attached?”

“To your pain.”

Her breath caught as the meaning settled in.

Heavy.

Unavoidable.

“They don’t care about us…” she whispered.

“No,” he replied.

“They care about how we make them feel.”

Silence filled the space between them, thick and suffocating.

Aria stared down at her trembling hands before lifting her gaze back to the panel.

Three choices.

One life.

Her life.

“What would you pick?” she asked suddenly.

For the first time, he didn’t answer right away. Instead, he stepped closer to the glass, close enough that her reflection blurred into his mask.

“I wouldn’t play their game,” he said softly.

Aria let out a hollow laugh. “That’s not an option.”

“No,” he agreed. “It isn’t.”

A timer appeared above the panel.

DECISION TIME: 00:01:00

Aria’s heart dropped.

“One minute…?”

The comments exploded again:

CLOCK’S TICKING!

DO SOMETHING!

SACRIFICE! SACRIFICE!

The noise became overwhelming too loud, too fast, too much.

She pressed her hands against her temples, forcing herself to focus.

“Think… think, Aria…”

Her eyes moved between the options.

Save.

Sacrifice.

Reveal.

Her chest tightened.

She didn’t want to become what they wanted.

But she didn’t want to die either.

Slowly, her gaze lifted to PLAYER 001.

He was already watching her.

Like he knew.

“If I don’t play… I die,” she said quietly.

“Yes.”

“If I play… I lose myself.”

A pause.

“Only if you let them decide who you become.”

The words struck something deep inside her something fragile, but not broken.

Not yet.

The timer dropped.

00:00:20

Her breathing slowed just enough.

Enough to think.

Enough to choose.

“I won’t kill someone for them,” she said firmly.

The decision settled in her chest heavy, but right.

Her finger hovered over the panel.

Then moved.

Not to sacrifice.

Not to save.

But

[C] REVEAL A PERSONAL SECRET

The screen flashed.

CHOICE LOCKED

Silence followed.

Even the comments paused.

Waiting.

Watching.

“Participant Aria Vale has chosen to reveal,” the system announced.

Her throat tightened.

“Please state your secret.”

Her hands trembled again but this time, she didn’t step back.

She stepped forward.

Into the light.

Into their gaze.

“I…” She swallowed hard. “I was supposed to die before this.”

The silence deepened.

“I was in a car accident,” she continued, her chest tightening. “I survived.”

Her fingers curled into fists.

“But someone else didn’t.”

Her voice dropped, fragile but steady.

“I was the reason.”

The words felt like glass tearing through her throat.

“I’ve been living like I borrowed someone else’s life,” she whispered. “And I don’t even know if I deserve it.”

For a moment, everything stood still.

Then the screen flickered violently as comments began to return slower this time, heavier.

…wait.

That got dark.

I didn’t expect that.

The system responded.

AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT: INCREASED

VOTES UPDATED

Her number dropped.

Not gone.

But lower.

Safer.

For now.

Aria exhaled shakily, her legs threatening to give out beneath her.

Across the glass, the masked man was still watching her but something in his gaze had shifted.

Not calculation.

Not curiosity.

Something deeper.

Something dangerous.

“Now they care about you,” he said quietly.

Aria met his eyes. “Is that a good thing?”

A pause.

Then, softer than before

“No.”

The countdown reset.

00:59:59

And as the next round began, a terrifying realization settled into her chest.

She wasn’t just surviving anymore.

She was becoming the audience’s favorite.

And in The Stream…

Favorites didn’t live long
