Legend of Icaros
He was born from the void between stars - a being of immense power, forged from cosmic origins.
For thousands of years, he walked among humanity, protecting them and keeping his true strength hidden. After losing the only family he had, grief led him to seek his own end... only to wake up in a world entirely unlike his own.
Here, cultivation is the main path to power. Those who master spirit qi gain superhuman strength, speed, and abilities that place them far above ordinary people. Four great sects rule the land, competing for resources, secrets, and dominance over each other.
Icaros joined the Li Sect, where he found companions he came to trust and care for: the capable and easygoing Li Han, the sharp and composed Su Yan, and the spirited Nelly. For a time, he felt he had found a place to belong, even as he kept his true nature hidden and wondered whether he could ever learn to cultivate like those around him.
Everything changed when their voyage was suddenly attacked. A powerful figure floating in the sky cut their ship apart with sharp, devastating energy strikes, leaving only destruction in his wake. Believing his friends had been lost in the disaster, Icaros chose to stop holding back any longer.
> "I am done hiding!"
He unleashed his full power: golden light blazed from his eyes, he flew at incredible speed, and he broke through every barrier and enemy in his way. On the shores ahead, he tore through hordes of powerful jade monsters, destroying them completely before flying deep into the interior of the island.
Meanwhile, survivors washed up scattered and alone. One young cultivator found himself on the shores of Jade Island - a place most cultivators avoid, as it holds no treasures or useful materials, only danger and endless deposits of ordinary jade. Yet despite the risks, ordinary people have built settlements here, finding safety from the conflicts and power struggles of the outside world.
This island works by different rules. Spirit qi is scarce and unstable, making cultivation far less effective than elsewhere. Instead, the people here rely on advanced technology - weapons and explosives that can injure or even defeat those with great physical strength. Here, skill and preparation can be just as powerful as raw strength, and even the strongest cultivators must move with caution.
Now, Icaros has vanished deep into the island. His companions are lost somewhere across this dangerous land. And the mysterious swordsman who destroyed their ship has already arrived here, searching for an ancient map said to lead to the legacy of a being from another world.
Will they find each other again? And can anyone survive in a place where the usual rules of power no longer hold true?

Chapter 14
Fuck! That guy's speed is insane-I guess that's the effect of using spirit qi to empower his body. Too bad for him, I can't use super speed while on foot. Still, he's completely screwed. Even with his high strength, enhanced by that magic treasure-the gauntlet-and the physical boost from his spirit qi, he still can't harm me.
Icaros analyzed the situation at lightning speed while tearing himself free from the wall of the ship where he had been embedded.
Just then, the male cultivator wielding the shield and sword charged at him. His movement was undeniably superhuman, shield raised to absorb any impact, sword hand tensed and ready to strike.
Icaros braced himself, choosing to rely solely on his fists and raw, superhuman strength. The cultivator arrived in the blink of an eye, his velocity terrifyingly fast.
But Icaros, who had focused his senses to their peak, had already tracked every motion. He shifted his body, preparing to dodge and then strike back with lethal force.
However, the cultivator was clearly a seasoned warrior. At the very last instant, he leaped upward, evading Icaros's punch. While suspended in mid-air, he frantically channeled spirit qi into his arm and blade. With a blinding flash, he swung down, aiming to cleave straight through Icaros's neck.
In his mind, he already saw the boy's head flying off in a spray of blood.
CLANG!
Instead, his sword struck Icaros's neck like metal against diamond. The impact produced a heavy thud, but the blade failed to even scratch his skin, let alone sever his head.
By the time the cultivator landed, he was standing right next to Icaros. His eyes widened in utter disbelief. The last thing he saw was Icaros grinning at him before a fist moving at superhuman speed shattered through his skull.
Nelly forcefully repelled the two small demonic dragons. She sidestepped swiftly, then snatched something from a pouch at her waist. A green whip materialized in her palm, which she instantly infused with spirit qi. She lashed out, looping the weapon around one of the approaching beasts.
With superhuman strength, she yanked it forward, sending it flying straight onto her waiting sword-which was already coated in roaring green flames. The demonic dragon screeched in agony before dissolving into smoke.
Seizing the moment, the second dragon lunged to finish her off. But Nelly was prepared. She released a pulsating green aura made of pure spirit qi, blasting the creature away for a crucial moment before the field faded.
Her female opponent chuckled darkly at the sight.
"What are you laughing at?" Nelly spat, venom lacing her tone. "Is it because I'm about to beat the crap out of you?"
The woman chuckled again, shaking her head. "My, my... the fight is just beginning."
As she spoke, her neatly trimmed fingernails elongated into sharp, black claws. Her legs tore through her footwear, transforming into powerful, beast-like limbs that gripped the floor with unnatural strength. Scales began to spread across her visible arms and legs, even creeping up her cheeks. Her teeth sharpened into vicious fangs, bared as if ready to tear into flesh.
She had transformed into a lithe, terrifying demon. With a single tap of her foot, she vanished and reappeared atop a destroyed cannon. A wicked grin spread across her face.
"We are just getting started, honey."
Witnessing this, Nelly's expression hardened. She recognized the technique immediately-this woman was definitely from the Nine Transformation Demonic Sect. Nelly steeled her resolve, circulating her spirit qi throughout her entire body, ready to meet this new threat.
With a sharp burst of energy, Su Yan blocked her opponent's attack, allowing the force to push her back and create some distance.
The female cultivator noted this unusual defense but already had a sinister plan. As Su Yan prepared to unleash her qi techniques, she intended to plunge her daggers into her, delivering a fatal wound.
But Su Yan knew better. In combat, speed always reigned supreme.
Instead of wasting time on a grand technique, she simply assumed a stance and fired off condensed arcs of spirit qi. Their destructive power had been amplified by her secret art.
"Fuck!" her opponent gritted out, immediately shifting to defend herself.
I can't cut through his axe? Fine. Let's see how he survives overwhelming power, Li Han thought, deciding to go all out.
Holding up both hands, two fingers on each arm extended, releasing terrifying purple energy shaped like blades. They crossed before him in an 'X' formation, his legs coiled like springs ready to launch.
Without warning, the floor shattered as Li Han burst forward. His first energy sword slammed against his opponent's block, sending the man flying backward in shock.
Not one to be outdone, the enemy twisted his body mid-air and brought one of his axe crashing down, aiming to split Li Han's skull in two.
Li Han raised his other hand to block, but unexpectedly, the axe sliced straight through his energy sword.
However, that was exactly what Li Han wanted.
While the axe came down, his other hand-instead of forming another blade-was now spinning a condensed, drill-like beam of energy. He released it instantly. The projectile shot through the narrow gap in the opponent's defense, piercing straight into his skull and drilling inward with devastating speed.
The axe fell weakly against Li Han's head, but it lacked the force to break through the layer of spirit qi protecting him.
A smile bloomed on Li Han's face. Thankfully, the trick worked. During our clash, I dispersed the energy from one hand to form the drill while using the other sword as a decoy. It cost a lot of energy to hide the fluctuation, but it was worth it.
Meanwhile, moments after Icaros had killed the swordsman, the remaining cultivator saw his chance. He leaped high into the air to maximize the force of his blow, aiming to crush Icaros where he stood.
BOOM!
Icaros crossed his arms effortlessly, taking the hit directly to his forearms. Contrary to the cultivator's expectations, he dealt zero damage. He barely even budge an inch, the ship's floor sinking some inches from the raw power.
Now fully focused, Icaros wasn't about to be caught off guard again. As his opponent's fist landed, Icaros countered instantly with a casual punch of his own.
The force was cataclysmic. The cultivator was sent flying backward, crashing violently into the ship's reinforced walls.
Gasping and spitting blood, the man struggled to stand up. His mind was in turmoil as he scanned Icaros with his divine sense.
How? He shows no signs of cultivation base. He doesn't even look that muscular, yet he sent me flying like a ragdoll. If he were a cultivator, I would sense it, but there is absolutely no trace of spirit qi within him... unless he's using a supreme secret technique to hide it? But that should be impossible once battle begins!
Shaking his head, he pushed the confusion aside. I don't care how he does it! I'll just hit him harder and harder until he falls!
Gritting his teeth, he saw Icaros walking toward him calmly. The cultivator roared, exploding forward with every ounce of speed he possessed. His muscles tensed, core burning, ready to unleash everything he had.
He closed the gap instantly and threw a massive punch. Icaros blocked it, merely shifting his weight slightly.
Enraged, the cultivator continued his assault, trying to overwhelm Icaros with close-quarters combat.
But his confidence shattered completely when their fists collided head-on.
CRACK.
A sickening sound of metal bending echoed. The cultivator's priceless gauntlets were actually dented by Icaros's bare knuckles, sending a jolt of pain shooting up his arm.
The pain broke his rhythm. In that split second of hesitation, Icaros grabbed his wrist, drove his fist forward, and punched straight through the man's heart.
Coughing up a torrent of blood, his body went limp. As darkness claimed him, his last lingering thought was filled with incredulity: My gauntlets... they were used to shatter skulls... yet they were crushed by bare hands...

For three years, I hid my identity as the sole heiress of a multi-billion dollar tech empire to live in a cramped apartment and support my boyfriend, Ben.
But the day before our engagement, I stood outside a meeting room and overheard him talking to his wealthy boss, Haylie.
"She's just a stepping stone," Ben laughed, his voice full of contempt. "A poor, ambitionless distraction while I work my way up to where I really belong."
He mocked the cheap silver ring he gave me, calling it a necessary prop to keep a naive fool happy.
He bragged about the multi-million dollar merger proposal he was presenting, planning to use it to secure his promotion and build a future with her.
He had no idea that I had secretly negotiated that entire deal using my real connections just to give him his big break.
I had sacrificed my family's comfort, my true identity, and my own career just to watch him rise.
I poured my heart and soul into our humble beginnings, only to realize he saw my love as a pathetic joke and me as disposable trash.
I calmly picked up a pen and voided the merger agreement, tearing my hard work into tiny pieces.
I went home, slid the cheap ring off my finger, and dropped it into his mug of cold coffee.
"Soon, you'll find out exactly who is nothing."
Walking out the door, I pulled out my phone and texted my billionaire father.
"I'm in. Announce the merger."

The last thing I remembered was the blinding flash of my starship crashing. But instead of a rescue crew, I woke up tied to a wooden post, surrounded by hostile beastmen.
My universal translator kicked in just in time to hear their priestess, Chelsea, declare that I was a cursed demon who ruined their hunt. To save the clan from winter starvation, I was to be burned alive.
The flames were already blistering my legs, and jagged stones hurled by the crowd gashed my forehead. I barely negotiated a three-day reprieve to find them food, venturing into the deadly primeval forest.
I found a massive supply of wild potatoes and even gained the protection of Bronson, a terrifyingly powerful saber-toothed tiger beastman.
But Chelsea wouldn't stop.
She labeled my food as poisonous, tried to sentence me to starve in a penitent's cave, and when my agricultural knowledge proved her wrong, she invoked an ancient law. She incited the tribe's savage warriors to fight over me, turning me into breeding property.
I was a scientist offering them endless food, yet their primitive ignorance and one woman's vicious jealousy kept pushing me toward a brutal end. I was terrified, completely powerless against their monstrous physical strength.
As five ruthless challengers drew their bone axes to claim me, I begged Bronson to leave me and run.
Instead, he pulled me against his scarred chest and kissed me fiercely in front of the entire clan.
"She is my mate," he roared, unleashing a soul-crushing aura. "Anyone who wants her, come at me together."

Hannah came home under a false identity, ready to keep her head down and avoid trouble. Then a near-drowning opened her eyes, and the family she had wanted gave her nothing but disappointment.
She severed every tie, shed the disguise, and rose in revenge as a miracle doctor, brilliant hacker, and feared underworld ruler. Shock followed her family at every turn.
Her parents regretted everything. Her eldest brother clung desperately to the bond of their shared blood, while her second brother gave up his entire fortune just to earn her forgiveness. Her third brother offered up his own body for a surgery-all to save her.
But Hannah stayed cold and built her empire alone. Only one deadly rival refused to be ignored.
"I was hired to kill you, mister."
"Then take my heart, too."

My retirement was finally approved, and I was supposed to be sipping drinks on a sunny beach.
Instead, a cold system voice forced me into a nightmare scenario: "Cursed Mates Who Want Me Dead." I woke up in a stinking cave, trapped in the body of a psychopathic tribal princess.
The memories that flooded my brain made me sick. The original owner of this body had forcibly marked seven of the continent's most powerful beast-men and reduced them to tortured pets. She had ripped the shimmering scales off Jordi the Merfolk prince, gouged out a proud wolf-man's power crystal, and snapped an eagle-man's magnificent wings.
Now, Jordi was a mutilated, terrified mess hiding in a corner. He was so traumatized that he tried to slit his own throat just to escape me. His sister was actively trying to assassinate me.
To make matters worse, the system warned me that if I didn't heal these seven ticking time bombs, my soul would be erased. Yet the future timeline clearly showed that these men would eventually unite, burn my tribe to the ground, and dismember me alive.
I was paying for a monster's sins. Every time I tried to show mercy, they thought it was a sick new torture method. Words were useless, and my very presence was a trigger.
But I am a Tier-S operative, and I don't play the victim. I forced the system to unlock my powers and strapped on my tactical gear.
"Stay here and don't starve."
I left the trembling Merfolk behind and walked into the deadly primitive forest, heading straight for the powerful Oasis Tribe to take back his stolen scales by force.

For two years, I was trapped behind my own eyes, a prisoner in my own skull.
A crazed fan had hijacked my body after a brutal car crash, wearing my skin like a cheap suit.
When my soul finally locked back into my flesh in a cramped hospital room, I realized she had destroyed everything I built.
This parasitic stalker had drained my massive fortune to zero, buying luxury gifts for a mediocre actor and turning me into the internet's most hated woman.
My phone was flooded with death threats, and the hashtag demanding I go to hell was trending at number one.
Even the hospital nurses despised me. One marched into my room, raising her hand to violently slap my pale cheek.
"You psychotic bitch, you make me sick!"
Worse, my sprawling Beverly Hills estate had been foreclosed and sold to a mysterious billionaire named Kasey Dominguez.
I had absolutely nothing left. No money. No reputation. No home.
The sheer violation of watching a psychotic stranger ruin my life while I was locked in the passenger seat of my own mind made my blood boil.
I refused to let her destroy my legacy.
As the nurse's hand descended, my atrophied muscles snapped into action.
I twisted her wrist until the joint popped, grabbed the keys to my freedom, and slipped out into the cold Los Angeles night.
I was going to take my life back, starting with the billionaire who thought he owned my house.

Eleanora arrived at the city's most exclusive club with a custom cake, ready to surprise her boyfriend of six years, Kason, for his birthday.
But when she opened the suite door, she found him pressing her cousin Brielle against the sofa, kissing her passionately.
Brielle splashed red wine over Eleanora's silk dress, mocking her as a passionless dead fish.
"Get out. Don't stand there and ruin my night."
Kason didn't even look guilty as he waved her away like a nuisance.
Fleeing in tears, Eleanora accidentally drank a spiked cocktail and stumbled into a dark penthouse pool.
She was pulled from the water by Horace Reeves—Kason's terrifying, billionaire uncle and the ruthless black sheep of the family.
Drugged and hallucinating, she clung to him and whispered Kason's name.
"Since he didn't want you, I'll be happy to take his place."
That single word triggered a dark, possessive fury in the billionaire as he pinned her to his bed, claiming her completely.
Waking up covered in bruises, she realized her six years of blind loyalty had been a complete joke. She had escaped a cheating boyfriend only to be trapped by the most dangerous predator in Manhattan.
Forced by her mother to attend a family dinner that very night, she was suddenly dragged into a dark VIP room by Horace.
He kissed her brutally against the door, just as Kason and Brielle walked by and pushed it open.
Seeing his uncle pressing his ex-girlfriend against the wall, Kason's jaw went slack in absolute shock.
Horace slowly lifted his head, his eyes like chips of ice as he looked at his nephew.
"Get out."
