Chapter 2

The air hostess didn't know how to react. However, since Conan was a platinum member, she could do nothing to protest.

The other passengers on the plane wouldn't have it, though. Someone threw a bottle at Conan and yelled, "Is this your own plane, you idiot? How could you be so ridiculous? People like you don't deserve to be a father!"

Conan dared not argue this time. He simply nodded toward the air hostess while stubbornly gripping the door handle.

I said calmly, "I won't need it anymore."

Fiona, a nice lady whose seat was next to mine, suddenly spoke up. "Come back here. I'll shield you while you feed your baby. Then I'll formally complain about that air hostess for discrimination!"

I smiled appreciatively and nodded at Fiona as I returned to my seat. She then shielded me with her coat while I fed Finley.

A while later, Finley finally stopped crying after he was done feeding. He then slept like a log until it was time to land.

I exited the departure hall. When Conan saw that I wasn't getting into his car, his face darkened, and he flew into another rage, thinking I was still playing mind games with him.

"Sabrina Lockhart, you can take the cab if you want to, but I refuse to let my son take it. Are you trying to use my son to garner my sympathy?"

I stared at Conan. He was simply being ridiculous.

"Finley is not your son."

Conan reacted as though he'd just heard the funniest joke in the world. He threw his head back and laughed loud and hard.

"Wow, I never thought that you'd stoop so low to talk such nonsense with me. Do you even hear yourself? You're talking rubbish!"

Conan wanted to continue his tirade, but Queenie suddenly shivered hard and sniffed loudly next to him.

He immediately approached her and asked concernedly, "Are you cold?"

Without saying another word, Conan took off his coat and draped it around Queenie's shoulders. Then, he personally escorted her into the front passenger seat.

When he looked back at me, I could tell that he was holding on to his last bit of patience. He frowned and said, "If you want to stand in the cold wind, fine! Just stay there until you freeze to death!"

Then, he turned away and sped off in his car.

A short while later, Gary Brosnan stopped his car beside me and got out to help me with my suitcases. Gary was the butler to Conan's father, Joseph Hamilton.

"Mrs. Hamilton, Mr. Hamilton Sr. has been wanting to meet his eldest grandson for a long time. Please, get into the car."

A year ago, Conan's brother, Dylan Hamilton, rescued me from the nunnery. That was when we decided to spend the rest of our lives together.

At first, Joseph had been entirely against our relationship, but Dylan used his advantage as the eldest son in the family to threaten his father, saying that he would kill himself if he couldn't marry me. Joseph ultimately relented.

Now that I had Finley, Joseph had no more reasons to oppose my relationship with Dylan.

The roads were brightly lit all the way back to the Hamilton residence.

Joseph carefully took Finley from me, his eyes full of love and adoration for the baby in his arms. Then, Joseph glanced behind me briefly.

"Where's Dylan? I thought that we could discuss the wedding together."

I explained, "Dylan's still busy with the overseas headquarters, but he told me to come home first to see you. Then, we'll also settle the issue with the branch company here at home."

Joseph lowered his head in deep thought.

I walked into the house with him and saw that everyone else from the Hamilton family was there. They were eager to discuss our wedding details, planning to make it as grand as possible.

Conan's background was slightly complicated. He had been born out of wedlock to a mistress, so the only thing Joseph could do for him was to provide him with wealth. However, Conan had no status or say in the family matters.

After we were done discussing, Conan's aunt, Anna Lysander, who was the head of a radio station, released the news of our wedding that very night.

Conan immediately called me up. With a trace of sarcasm, he sounded like he was interrogating me.

"Sabrina Lockhart, how dare you secretly discuss wedding plans with my father and the others! I haven't even agreed to marry you yet!"

I answered coldly, "Did you really think your opinion mattered?"

I hung up after that and ignored him. Then, I picked Finley up and entered Dylan's bedroom.

The next morning, I bumped into Conan as soon as I came out of the room.

He had an icy aura to him as his face became devoid of color. His eyes turned dark as he asked me, "How could you sleep in Dylan's bedroom?"
