River Lockhart I watch as Officer Damian drives away. He really hates me. But at the same time, he's concerned, too, although we are mere strangers to each other. Even last time, he let me go with just a fifty-dollar fine, and this time, he didn't even do anything about my presence in an adult bar. Well... I look down at my phone and quickly save the number that he has typed. I can't believe my night turned around and twisted like this. Whatever shit has happened since the call from that woman(Julia), I managed to get Officer Damian's number although I don't know what I am supposed to do with it. I can do plenty of things with this acquired power. I can give him a call. A booty call. Or I can send him a flirting message. Damn. What should I actually do with it?? I send my hand through my hair and kick at the pebbles on the ground in frustration. I don't know how I am supposed to enter his inner circle anyway. I feel lost because he has a high wall around him and he keeps everything really professional. ~.~ I walk back to my penthouse and enter my place before falling asleep on the living room sofa as I am too tired to go to my room. When I wake up, it's around nine in the morning, and I realise I am quite late for the gender reveal party. I quickly run to my room while looking through my phone to check whether anyone has contacted me regarding it. But as I see no one has made any calls, I take a quick wash, brush my teeth and go to the parking space to get in my Porsche. Then I quickly speed to the venue of the event to find a lot of luxurious vehicles in the parking space. I toss my key to the doorman and quickly run inside. I notice a lot of guests in the hall as I enter and the conversations echo in the room. As I walk through the room, their eyes shift to me, and I silently look for my dad. I find him among the crowd, holding his wife's. I walk up to him although I don't really feel like talking with him. But there's nothing I can do but talk with him because I am still living off his money. He turns to me as he notices everyone looking in my direction. His eyes take a darker tone as he looks down at me with cold eyes. He masks it off with a fake smile and gives me a side hug. "You are really late, you know?" he asks. "That's surprising cause who holds these parties earlier than 10 am?" I ask back. "10 am?" he questions me again. I check my phone and my eyes widen when I see that it's 1 pm. I have no idea how I lost track of time and when I lost track of time, how did I see 9 am at the penthouse and the time shifted to 1 pm in that short time? "You reek of alcohol, and you decide to come this late-" he lowers his voice so others won't hear him talking to me. "Before anything, I am a businessman do you get that?? I have a face, a dignity, an image to protect so use your brain for once!" "I am at least here! Chase is not even present at the moment. It might be Summer break there you know!" I argue back. "Watch your damn mouth before anyone hears!!" I flinch at his voice and quickly look away. Gladly, I feel less oppressed and pressured because of the crowd around us. I move away without talking further and watch from the side as the event slowly ends. As it's over, I leave the hall and walk down the corridor while scrolling through my phone. I might've come to the event hours late and everything. But there's something else that I have to give more thought and time to. How to flirt with the police officer and get his attention!? Yeah, I kind of like him already.
