Chapter 1

I once gave blood for him and donated my corneas for him,

and even got a kidney removed for his white moonlight.

He thought I was hopelessly in love with him.

In reality, I just wanted to die as quickly as possible.

If I died, I could go back.

'Even a dog wouldn't want to be stuck in this over-the-top, angsty CEO novel anymore!'

1

I once prayed to God for good health.

But now, I just hope heaven will take this disaster of a person off the world's hands.

In the third year of my failed mission to win him over and the start of my path to being tormented, I still hadn't died.

Seriously, does anyone get what I'm going through? Right before I was transmigrated into this over-the-top, angsty CEO novel, I had just won 300 million dollars in the lottery.

My life was just about to set sail.

I was all set to live it up on the bustling streets as an ambitious youth ready to let my dreams fly.

But then a piece of glass fell from the sky, and I was the only one who got hit.

The System bound itself to me and told me to win over the male lead of this angsty novel, Henrik Drakon.

He has a frail and sickly 'white moonlight', and I, the tragic heroine, am needed to donate blood, corneas, and even a kidney.

I had originally planned to just follow the plot. As long as I kicked the bucket, the mission would be over, and I could go back to being a little rich girl.

But it seems this world has quietly started to change.

Everyone has started to become self-aware.

For example, the butler, who was only supposed to say things like "It's been so long since Young Master Drakon has smiled like this," silently spoke up when he heard Henrik Drakon demand I give blood to his white moonlight.

"Young Master Drakon, Miss Shaw is type A, but Miss Linton has Panda Blood. Their blood types are incompatible."

Henrik Drakon frowned and was about to say something, but the butler spoke again.

"Panda Blood is a rare blood type, not the blood of a panda. Furthermore, pandas are a National Treasure. A thought like that is illegal."

Then there was his doctor friend, the one Henrik Drakon would summon to the villa late at night for his white moonlight's every little ache and pain. When he heard Henrik Drakon trying to force me to donate my corneas, he righteously refused.

"Forcing someone against their will is illegal. If I performed this surgery, I'd lose my medical license. Besides, I studied my butt off for over a decade, all the way to a Ph.D., and I've already lost half my hair. Giving up my entire future for you over this just isn't worth it."

So, time and time again, I managed to dodge these heart-wrenching plot points and have survived, alive and kicking, to this day.

Unwilling to give up, I checked with my System again.

"I can't complete the mission by killing myself, right?"

"Correct, Host. Your death must be logical and come at the hands of the male lead."

'Great. Just brilliant.'

'It's time for a new approach.'

At 8 AM, I knocked on Henrik Drakon's door with his breakfast.

In the original book, my family went bankrupt, and I owed Henrik Drakon a huge sum of money, forcing me to work as his maid to pay off the debt.

Just like always, Henrik Drakon didn't even give me a proper look and made things difficult for me, telling me to take the breakfast downstairs.

"I want to have breakfast downstairs today."

'And just yesterday, he said he wanted to eat in his room.'

I nodded and carried the breakfast downstairs.

Once I was sure no one was watching, I took out the laxative I'd prepared earlier and mixed it into Henrik Drakon's congee.

The pharmacist who sold it to me said one packet would be enough to clear him out completely.

But Henrik Drakon always has this dead, constipated look on his face, so I thought about it and added another packet.

Finally, even the System couldn't watch anymore.

"Host, are you trying to poison him, or... thicken a sauce?"

I stirred with all my might, finally mixing the last of the laxative thoroughly into the congee.

And then I watched with my own two eyes as Henrik Drakon ate it.

'Excellent. Step one of the plan is a success.'
