Chapter 4

Then, Cynthia cackled. “She’s getting worked up! Look! She’s rambling now! Juliet is in another country. She wouldn’t come back for no reason.

“Do you see it? She’s so shameless! She’s lying without batting an eyelid!”

Her brother pointed the camera in my face.

Cynthia tore my designs apart and stomped on the haute couture gowns.

With Cynthia spurring them on, the onlookers rushed forward and snatched my jewelry and cut up my haute couture gowns.

I coldly watched the lunatics grabbing stuff from my luggage bag and wished to reach my phone in the coat’s pocket and call the police.

Just a little more, and I would be able to grab it…

Once I reached it and unlocked my phone, a chatter suddenly alerted one of the streamers.

“The kept woman is calling the police. Everyone, stop her!”

Everyone fixed their eyes on me again. Cynthia’s brother grabbed my arm and crushed my phone under his foot.

“You were trying to call the police? They wouldn’t care about a homewrecker like you.”

“Looks like we didn’t beat her up enough. She still hasn’t realized her wrongdoings.”

“Let’s cut her hair and shave her eyebrows. She won’t be able to seduce men after that.”

Two of the people pulled out the scissors and eyebrow shaver they had brought to the event. The chat started sending loads of donations to support their actions.

They grabbed my hair. I shook my head to break free, but someone pinned my shoulders down. After they cut my hair, they did not think it was enough and shaved me bald.

“You did great! Witches like her should be bald!”

“Homewreckers like her stink of shamelessness. Since she’s so despicable, there’s no need for her to have her face intact.”

“Everyone, keep up the donations. We’re going to rip this kept woman to shreds today and let all the other ones out there know that this is what will happen to them one day too!”

I gnashed my teeth together. “You better pray you won’t regret this!”

“Heh. Why would we? You’re the one who should be regretting your actions. Do you regret seducing other people’s boyfriends now?”

I said nothing and just shut my eyes. I refused to cry.

I was going to make sure they paid for their actions.

I would not spare a single one of them.

“Are you done? There’s still a bracelet on her wrist. Crush it too!”

I instinctively tried to pull my hand back.

They crushed everything else and tore up my drafts, but I could not let them ruin this bracelet.

“Aw, you’re pulling back your hand. Are you feeling guilty now? You must have gotten this bracelet from seducing a man!”

Cynthia pushed her way through the crowd. The more I fought back, the more excited she became.

“Don’t. If you want money, I can give it to you, but don’t touch the bracelet.”

She put her hands on her hips and sneered. “Look, everyone! The kept woman seems to care about the bracelet a lot. What should we do?”

The streamers shouted smugly behind her, “Crush it, duh!”

Cynthia grabbed my chin and stared at me with an enigmatic look. “You seem to care about this a lot. Let me guess. How many men did you sleep with to get it?”

This was an heirloom, but it was not just an heirloom to me.

I would not allow anyone to ruin it.

I ducked my head and bit her hand.

She slapped me. “You bit me, witch?!”

“Get her! She’s far too high on her horse!”

I glared at the people around me and growled, “Come at me if you dare!”

Cynthia’s parents came over and slapped me. Her mother scoffed. “Hmph. You dare bite my daughter? But you’re going to behave after I slap you, aren’t you? Dear, crush the bracelet.”

Her father grabbed a hammer and swung it at the bracelet.
