I Put My Ex-husband and His Beloved Woman in Jail
I had been married to Landen Patel for three years. He suddenly got down on his knees in front of me one day, and his eyes were filled with tears.
"Honey, could you... temporarily divorce me?"
I froze, as if someone had hit me over the head without warning. A chill ran through my body.
"Jaynie is back, and she brought a five-year-old boy. I just found out today... that I am the father.
But he has leukemia. The doctors said the only way to save him is if Jaynie and I have another child so that we can use the newborn's embryonic stem cells.
Looking at his pained face, I gave a bitter smile. "So you're saying you want a divorce... to have a child with her?"
He shook his head, crying. "It's only temporary! Once the boy is saved, I'll come back to you. Honey, please... think of it as saving a life..."
Just then, his phone rang.
Jaynie Payne sent him a revealing selfie with a message.
"Landen, I'm ready. Has Lydia agreed? The doctor said it is the best time for me to get pregnant tonight."

Chapter 5
The video showed it was inside a VIP room of a casino.
Jaynie was in a revealing slip dress and leaning intimately against a man's chest. She swayed the dice cup in her hand, her charming laughter rippling through the air.
As she pushed some chips forward, she kissed the man and said in a sweet voice, "After I get the money from Landen's ex-wife, we'll elope and never have to live in hiding again. Landen is really a fool."
The man wrapped his arm around her waist and pinched the face of the boy in her arms. "What about this boy?"
Jaynie blew a smoke ring with an air of nonchalance. "Of course, we'll dump him. He is a stray we picked up, and how can you actually think he is precious?"
"He's our personal ATM now—we've got to be nice to him."
There was a deathly silence in the living room.
Flashbulbs flashed wildly and captured the moment the faces of Landen's family turned ghostly pale.
I threw a paternity test report in Landen's face, and the paper scattered everywhere. Each word was clear.
"Take a good look. This is your beloved woman and your so-called son. How do you like being the fool now, Landen?"
Landen seemed to be thunderstruck and trembled violently.
He looked disbelievingly at Jaynie on the screen, then at the panic-stricken woman in front of him. His lips quivered, and he was unable to utter a word.
In the next moment, he seemed mad as he lunged forward to grab Jaynie's neck tightly. "You lying witch! How could you deceive me?"
Jaynie's eyes rolled back as she was choked. Under the live broadcast of countless cameras, she screamed and scratched Landen's face furiously with her nails. "You idiot. Did you really think I was interested in a loser like you? You just rely on another woman. "If it weren't for your wife being rich, I wouldn't even spare you a glance."
Selah collapsed on the ground in fear and muttered repeatedly, "My money… and my grandson… are fake… Everything is fake…"
I watched coldly at the cutthroat betrayal broadcast by major media. I was so calm.
I turned to the cameras and the reporters, who were shocked. I said in a clear and powerful tone, "Everyone, I've invited you here today to expose a meticulously planned marriage scam. I believe that from the moment they stepped into this house, every word they said and every expression they made has been broadcast to the public through your lenses."
Landen and Jaynie froze instantly.
The comment sections of all the major news live streams exploded instantly.
"Oh my! The plot twist of the year! The wife set a trap and lured them in. It's like a plot twist from a soap opera."
"What leukemia? And saving the boy? It is just a scheme with the ex-girlfriend and the mother-in-law to swindle Lydia's money."
"Lydia is a lawyer, right? She is incredible! What a comeback! It's so cool."
"The scumbag and the fraudster deserve each other! They are shamed in front of everyone. How gratifying the story is!"
The faces of Landen and Jaynie appeared clearly on countless screens.
Their terror-stricken expressions drained of color as they faced the reporters around them.
It was over.
Everything was over for them.
Landen seemed to have all his strength drained from him and collapsed to his knees.
He crawled to my feet and clutched my legs while pleading desperately. "Honey, I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I was momentarily blinded by that deceitful woman! Forgive me, please. Give me another chance. "Let's not have a divorce, okay? Let's go back to how we were."
I looked at his tear-streaked face and felt only disgust.
I kicked him away with enough force to make him roll over on the floor.
I took out another divorce agreement, which was exactly the same, from my handbag, along with a pen. Then I threw them in front of him.
The term that he got nothing after the divorce was boldly highlighted in red. "Sign it. Otherwise, my legal team will make sure that you both rot in jail."
With trembling hands, Landen picked up the pen and signed his name at the bottom of the agreement.
Faced with the choice between total disgrace and having nothing, he had to sign it.
The next day, I received a call from the HR director of Landen's company.
The voice on the line was polite yet firm.
Landen had been formally dismissed for "seriously damaging the company's reputation."
Meanwhile, Jaynie, having lost Landen as a shield, was quickly cornered by debt collectors at her rented apartment.
I heard one of her legs was beaten broken.
By evening, the police formally filed a fraud case and arrested Landen and Jaynie, who were treated in the hospital.
I sat in the top-floor office of the law firm. With a glass of red wine, I gazed at the myriad lights outside the window.
Our marriage had lasted for three years, and it ended completely in three days.
I took a sip of the wine, and the liquid burned down my throat.
It felt good.
