Author Message

Schedule: 2-4 chapters daily is the plan while working on my other ongoing novel.

Talentless for those who are reading it will be back up to normal updates by the end of the weekend.

I'll also be adding more onto this as time goes on to answer any questions people may have. Feel free to ask away on this chapter.

But there is no harem! Just to make that clear. But talentless does have a harem.

I'll add whatever I forgot later on this weekend :)

Ending with A Bang

Gunshots were all I could hear around me, from every direction. I didn't really know it was going to happen like this but everyone dies at some point.

I can feel the hand tugging on my shoulder. "Zero, we need to go already." Renji said with worry in his voice.

"What? Do you think I'm a bitch or something?" I responded with a bit of irritation in my voice.

"I-I.. We just don't have a way to beat them right now." Renji said nervously.

Renji, my younger brother. He was always a bit scared when it came to handling problems. Being pinned down by a gang like this isn't something we run from though.

"Shut up already. I'll handle it." I responded confidently.

The glowing neon signs around us were lighting up enough for me to see where the shots were coming from. Dead ahead were the gang who started this shit.

A group of dickheads thought we stole their equipment so that's how this all started to begin with. It didn't surprise me since we get lumped in with the common street rats around here.

The Vantablade were a pretty well known group around here with enough pull to easily kill someone like me without alerting the cops.

I loaded my pistol and pressed up against the cover, listening for the pause. That pause would be the most ideal moment for me to take a shot at them.

The traces of blue light going throughout the sky finally came to a sudden stop as I looked over at Renji. My brother was shaking as he held onto his legs.

Renji really is a bitch when it comes to violence like this but I won't let anything happen to him. It always falls to the big brother to handle shit when it gets messy like this.

"I'm going to cover your ass, so get as far as you can." I said while making sure my pistol is ready.

This gun wasn't anything special like what the gang ahead has, but it'll have to do.

"I can't just leave you behind..." Renji replied with fear evident in his voice.

"Everything will be fine. Just get going before something happens dumbass." I assured him while getting ready.

The gunfire finally came to a pause and I didn't even hesitate to peek above the cover. Bang!! Bang!!! I was firing off shots without wasting a single second, hoping I'd take a couple of them down in the process.

I looked to my left to see Renji still sitting there. "Get going!!" I shouted with a bit of anger in my voice.

Clang! Clang!! Clatter! I could hear the bullets hitting something and then falling onto the floor but nothing seemed to be going on. It was still quite the quiet scene.

They wouldn't just run away so what the hell is going on all of a sudden? If they think we stole some of their cybernetics then we aren't going to get out of this alive.

CRACK!!! A flash of blue light tears through the haze, breaking the silence in a matter of seconds. It only took a moment but then I realized my right arm was just gone.

Vaporized in a burst of plasma and smoke, blood was spilling onto the floor from where my arm used to be.

The pain was jolting throughout my whole body from where my arm used to be but I couldn't let it stop me. Renji needs to make it out of this alive.

"Ngh—damnit! Go!!!" I shouted while trying to ignore the pain.

I could see the look of shock on his face but he finally listened, he started running with all the strength that he could muster. At least Renji can finally make himself useful enough to get out of a situation.

My arm being gone didn't stop me from shooting with my other hand so that's exactly what I did. Firing off shot after shot without a second to waste.

Drip. Drip. Drip. Blood continued to spill onto the ground as I fired off my pistol. Click! Click!

"Hahahaha. Of course I run out of ammo." I laughed before getting back into cover.

The gunfire was going once again, no more silence was lingering about. I was positive the sniper was getting into a better position as well.

CRACK!!! Another sound of the sniper went off without a moment to react.

I could feel the pain immediately go throughout my body as I looked down to see that the shit went right through my chest. Splurt!! Blood immediately came pouring out from the wound in my chest.

Ending with a bang huh, this is how Dad said to go out. I doubt I killed any of them with this shitty pistol. It doesn't add up to any of the weapons that these gangs have.

I'm going to die here without being able to get anywhere in this damn city. I did absolutely nothing with my life up until this point.

Thud!! Finally I fell over, my vision was beginning to fade with each passing second. The gunfire was still going on which confused me quite a bit.

Why would they still be firing if the shot already pierced through the cover? That was something that didn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

It doesn't matter at the end of the day, I'm going to die here anyway. Renji made it out of this alive so I don't need to worry about that at least.

I hope he knows that I did give a shit about him.

It just wouldn't be right if I let him grow up too soft in a world like ours, they'd eat him alive.

"Look at those pricks starting to run! Wooo!!!!" A man shouted distantly.

Maybe another gang showed up, good luck to Vantablade if they even manage to survive. Kairox is full of dangerous people.

"Boss, we got a live one over here." A younger man said while kneeling down beside me.

A live one he says.... Yeah. F*ck off with that, this kind of damage is too much for someone with no modifications.
