HIS FORBIDDEN LUNA Novel Cover

HIS FORBIDDEN LUNA

Kane Rivers has always lived a life of caution. Orphaned at a young age and raised in the quiet town of Silverwood, she believes she understands the world: people betray, pain follows, and love is a dangerous game. But everything changes the night she encounters a wolf unlike any she has ever seen. Adrian Wolfe is the Alpha of the Silverwood pack, feared by enemies and respected by his own. Dark, commanding, and impossible to resist, he has a secret: Kane is not just any human. She is the Luna his pack has been waiting for, the mate bound to him by fate, and the key to a prophecy that could save, or destroy, their world. Their connection ignites in tension and fire, a dangerous pull neither can resist. But enemies lurk in the shadows, a rogue pack thirsts for revenge, and secrets buried in Kane's past threaten to shatter the fragile bond between them. To survive, Kane must embrace the power within her, trust the Alpha she fears, and face the darkness that is coming for them both. In a world where the line between love and possession is razor thin, Kane will discover that some bonds are inevitable, some hearts are unyielding, and some wolves are forbidden.

Chapter 6

The sun was dipping low in the sky, casting long, slanted rays across the forest floor as Kane followed Adrian through the familiar path to the training grounds. Her muscles still ached from yesterday's confrontation with the rogue wolves, but the ache was a reminder of progress, a symbol of her growing strength and resilience. Every step felt more purposeful now, more attuned to the energy of the forest, as if the trees themselves were guiding her.

Adrian's presence beside her was both grounding and electrifying. He did not speak much as they walked, letting the quiet of the woods envelop them. But Kane could feel his gaze on her, a constant awareness that was neither oppressive nor distant. It was a tether, a connection she had grown to rely on, a silent reassurance that she was never truly alone, even when facing the unknown.

"We will begin with combat drills today," Adrian said finally, his voice cutting through the stillness like a blade. "Yesterday you faced rogue wolves alone and succeeded. Today, I will push you further. You will face multiple opponents, anticipate attacks, and maintain control under pressure. You will learn to strike not just with power, but with precision and strategy."

Kane nodded, her heart quickening. The thought of facing more danger was both thrilling and terrifying. But she felt a fire within her that had not existed before, a desire to grow, to prove herself, to harness the strength that pulsed through her veins. She had tasted the power of the Luna, and she hungered for more.

The clearing opened before them, sunlight filtering through the canopy and illuminating the practice area. Adrian gestured for her to take her position, and Kane felt the weight of expectation settle over her. Not as a burden, but as a challenge. She was ready.

"Focus on your senses," Adrian instructed. "Feel the rhythm of the forest, the flow of energy, and anticipate rather than react. Your power is not just strength-it is awareness, instinct, and control. Let it guide you."

Kane closed her eyes briefly, drawing in a deep breath. She felt the energy of the forest, the heartbeat of the world around her, and the pull of Adrian's presence like a lodestar. When she opened her eyes, she felt different, sharper, more attuned, more aware of every subtle shift in the environment.

The first opponent stepped forward, a trained wolf from Adrian's pack, moving with speed and precision. Kane's instincts took over. She dodged, twisted, and struck, her movements fluid, controlled, and deliberate. Each strike was measured, every step calculated. She was no longer reacting blindly; she was anticipating, reading the rhythm of her opponent, and flowing with it rather than against it.

Two more wolves joined the exercise, forcing Kane to divide her attention, to manage multiple threats at once. The challenge was exhausting, her body pushed to its limits, yet exhilarating. She felt her power expanding, her control sharpening. Every movement reinforced her connection to the forest, to the Alpha, and to the bond that tied them together.

Adrian observed silently, correcting her stance, offering brief guidance, and letting her experience the flow of combat on her own. The intensity of the training was unlike anything Kane had experienced, but it was transformative. She could feel herself growing stronger, faster, and more attuned to the power that had always been part of her.

After what felt like hours, Adrian called a halt. Kane's chest heaved, her body slick with sweat, but her mind was sharp, and her spirit was invigorated. She had faced multiple opponents, anticipated attacks, and maintained control under extreme pressure. She was no longer a novice; she was a warrior, a Luna stepping fully into her power.

"Good," Adrian said, his voice filled with approval. "You are learning quickly, Kane. But there is more than physical skill at play here. Your bloodline carries knowledge, history, and responsibility. You must understand it to fully harness your abilities."

Kane's curiosity was piqued. "My bloodline? You mean... my parents?"

Adrian nodded, his expression serious. "Yes. There are secrets in your family history, truths that have been hidden from you for your protection. But now, you must begin to uncover them. The prophecy, your awakening, and your role as Luna are all tied to who you are and where you come from. You must know yourself fully if you are to survive what is coming."

Kane felt a shiver run down her spine. Questions she had carried for years now demanded answers. Her parents, gone when she was young, had left fragments of a legacy she was only beginning to understand. And now, those fragments were pieces of a larger puzzle, one that held power, danger, and destiny intertwined.

"Tomorrow," Adrian continued, "we will explore your lineage further. You will learn to channel the strengths that are yours by birth, to recognize the abilities that have been dormant until now. But be warned, this knowledge comes with responsibility. There are those who would seek to exploit it, to destroy it, and to destroy you along with it. You must be prepared."

Kane absorbed his words, a mixture of excitement and apprehension settling over her. She had always been cautious, hesitant to step beyond the familiar boundaries of her life in Silverwood. But caution had no place in the path she was now on. The forest, the power within her, and the bond with Adrian demanded courage, focus, and unwavering determination.

As the sun dipped lower and shadows lengthened, Kane and Adrian began the journey back toward Silverwood. The forest was quiet, yet Kane could feel the pulse of life in every leaf, every tree, every rustle in the underbrush. Her senses remained heightened, her body alert, and her mind sharpened. She knew that the rogue wolves were still out there, lurking in the shadows, waiting for the slightest sign of weakness.

And then, without warning, a sudden movement in the trees drew her attention. Kane tensed, her instincts screaming danger. From the shadows, a figure stepped forward, human in shape but with eyes that glinted unnaturally. Kane's heart skipped a beat as recognition struck, this was no ordinary intruder. The presence radiated malice and power, a darkness she had not felt before.

Adrian's stance shifted instantly, protective and commanding. "Stay behind me," he instructed, his eyes locked on the figure. "This is no rogue wolf. This is someone who has been watching, waiting, and planning. Be ready, Kane. This is your first encounter with an enemy who understands the strength of the bond between Alpha and Luna."

The figure stepped fully into the clearing, a smirk playing across his lips. He was tall, lean, and exuded a confidence that was almost predatory. His eyes, dark and piercing, locked onto Kane, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. He was studying her, assessing, and calculating. She could feel his intent, to intimidate, to test, to probe for weakness.

"You must be the famous Luna," he said, his voice smooth, mocking. "Adrian Wolfe's mate. The girl who awakens power no one truly understands. How... quaint."

Kane's hands clenched instinctively, a low growl escaping her throat. She could feel the energy radiating from him, the subtle manipulations, the threats hidden behind casual words. Her senses flared, every instinct screaming danger.

Adrian stepped forward, his presence magnetic and commanding. "Leave her out of this," he said, his tone sharp, dangerous. "You have no idea what you're dealing with."

The man smirked, shrugging casually. "Oh, I think I do. I've been watching, waiting for the right moment. And now... here you are, fully awakened. How convenient."

Kane felt a surge of anger, fear, and determination. This was the first enemy to confront her directly, and she would not be passive. The power within her flared, her senses sharpening, her instincts screaming readiness. She was Luna. She was bound to Adrian. She was stronger than she had ever known.

Adrian's hand brushed hers, a grounding touch that sent electricity through her veins. "Trust yourself," he said quietly, his golden eyes locking onto hers. "Trust the bond. You are ready."

The figure laughed, a low, mocking sound. "We shall see, little Luna. We shall see."

The tension in the clearing was palpable, a silent promise of conflict, of danger, and of a trial that would push Kane beyond anything she had faced before. She could feel the weight of destiny settling over her shoulders, the pull of power and responsibility intertwining with the threat before her.

And in that moment, Kane understood fully that her journey had only just begun. The rogue wolves, the training, the awakening, they were merely the prelude. True danger, true challenge, and true discovery awaited.

She drew a deep breath, feeling the fire of her power surge through her veins. The Luna within her was no longer dormant. She was awakened, aware, and ready to face whatever shadows the past or present might cast.

And the figure before her would learn, soon enough, that Kane Rivers was no ordinary girl. She was Luna. She was bonded. She was powerful.

And she would not falter.
