HIS FORBIDDEN LUNA Novel Cover

HIS FORBIDDEN LUNA

Kane Rivers has always lived a life of caution. Orphaned at a young age and raised in the quiet town of Silverwood, she believes she understands the world: people betray, pain follows, and love is a dangerous game. But everything changes the night she encounters a wolf unlike any she has ever seen. Adrian Wolfe is the Alpha of the Silverwood pack, feared by enemies and respected by his own. Dark, commanding, and impossible to resist, he has a secret: Kane is not just any human. She is the Luna his pack has been waiting for, the mate bound to him by fate, and the key to a prophecy that could save, or destroy, their world. Their connection ignites in tension and fire, a dangerous pull neither can resist. But enemies lurk in the shadows, a rogue pack thirsts for revenge, and secrets buried in Kane's past threaten to shatter the fragile bond between them. To survive, Kane must embrace the power within her, trust the Alpha she fears, and face the darkness that is coming for them both. In a world where the line between love and possession is razor thin, Kane will discover that some bonds are inevitable, some hearts are unyielding, and some wolves are forbidden.

Chapter 4

The night sky stretched above Silverwood like an endless canvas, the full moon hanging low and luminous, casting silver light across the forest. Kane Rivers felt a strange exhilaration as she followed Adrian deeper into the woods. The events of the past days had shifted her entire perception of reality, and though fear lingered at the edges of her mind, it was tempered by a growing awareness of her own power and the undeniable pull of the Alpha at her side.

"You must understand something before we begin," Adrian said, his voice calm but filled with authority. "Being Luna is not a title or a destiny you can take lightly. It is responsibility, strength, and sacrifice. You will be tested, not just by enemies, but by yourself. Your mind, body, and spirit must align with the bond we share. Only then will you be truly capable of defending the pack, and yourself."

Kane nodded, her chest rising and falling steadily despite the nervous flutter in her stomach. She had come far in the past twenty-four hours, but the gravity of Adrian's words grounded her. She had witnessed her own strength and seen the truth of the rogue wolves, but she knew instinct alone would not be enough. Discipline, training, and control were required, and Adrian's presence was both comforting and electrifying, a tether she could not ignore.

They reached a clearing, the moonlight illuminating the space in pale silver. Adrian turned to her, his golden eyes reflecting the ethereal glow. "This will be your first lesson. Control. Awareness. The essence of Luna is in how she commands her power, not just in using it. You must feel, sense, and act as one with the world around you. The forest will respond if you can truly connect."

Kane took a deep breath, closing her eyes as she let the cool night air fill her lungs. She focused on the pulse beneath her feet, the subtle rustle of leaves, the hum of life in every living thing around her. At first, it was overwhelming, an avalanche of sensations that threatened to consume her. Every heartbeat, every whisper of wind, every distant movement was amplified. She stumbled slightly, her senses screaming with intensity, and opened her eyes to find Adrian watching her with an unreadable expression.

"You are aware," he said softly, "but you are not yet in control. Let the energy flow through you without being consumed by it. Focus, Kane. Feel the pull of the moon, the rhythm of the forest, and let it become part of you."

She concentrated, inhaling deeply, letting the silver light of the moon wash over her. Slowly, the cacophony of sensation became a symphony. She felt the forest's energy as an extension of herself, a living pulse that moved with her breath, her heartbeat, her intent. When she moved her hand slightly, the underbrush responded, swaying as if acknowledging her presence. Her breath caught in awe, a thrill of power surging through her veins.

Adrian's voice broke the silence. "Good. That is progress. Remember, your power is a reflection of your connection, to me, to the pack, to the world around you. The stronger your bond, the stronger your abilities. Now, let us continue."

The training moved into physical exercises, tests of agility, strength, and reflexes that pushed Kane to the limits of her newfound capabilities. She leapt over fallen logs, ran across uneven terrain, and responded instinctively to simulated attacks from Adrian, who was both mentor and challenge.

Each movement reinforced the bond between them, an unspoken rhythm developing that drew them closer in ways Kane could not yet name. Every touch, every glance, every correction of posture carried electricity, a magnetic tension that left her breathless and aware of the unyielding attraction between them.

Hours passed, though it felt like minutes, and Kane's muscles ached in ways that were unfamiliar but invigorating. She realized she was learning not just to control her abilities but to trust them, to trust herself. And as she caught her breath, her mind drifting for a moment, a whisper of memory surfaced, images of her parents, shadows in her childhood home, a sense of something hidden, something powerful that had been kept from her.

"You are thinking of your past," Adrian said, his voice breaking through the fog of thought. Kane turned, startled by his insight. "It is natural. The blood in your veins carries legacy, and the prophecy tied to you is connected to your family. You must embrace it, Kane, not fear it. Only then will you understand your place, and only then will you be truly unstoppable."

Kane swallowed hard, a mix of curiosity and trepidation twisting in her stomach. "What exactly does the prophecy say?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Adrian's gaze softened, but his tone remained serious. "It speaks of a Luna who will awaken with the rise of the blood moon, whose bond with the Alpha will determine the survival of the pack. There are those who will seek to manipulate, control, or destroy that bond. Your strength, your courage, and your loyalty will be tested. You are central to a balance older than Silverwood itself. Your actions will echo far beyond these forests."

Kane's mind reeled. The quiet life she had known, the routine she had clung to, the world she had believed she understood, all of it was gone. In its place was a destiny she had never asked for but could no longer deny. The weight of responsibility pressed on her, but beneath it was a thrill she could not suppress, a sense of awakening that coursed through her veins like fire.

"You will face enemies," Adrian continued, his tone low and serious. "Rogue packs, hunters, those who do not understand or respect the bond between Alpha and Luna. You must be vigilant. The moment you falter, the consequences will be severe."

"I understand," Kane said, determination threading through her voice. "I will not fail."

Adrian studied her for a long moment, then nodded. "Good. That is all I ask for now. But remember, Luna, strength alone will not save you. Wisdom, instinct, and trust are equally vital. You are not alone, Kane. Whatever comes, we face it together."

The night deepened, the forest alive with the sounds of nocturnal life, and Kane felt a strange peace settle over her. She was tired, physically and emotionally, but for the first time, she felt capable, powerful, and aligned with something larger than herself. Her bond with Adrian was more than attraction; it was a connection she could feel in every fiber of her being, a tether that anchored her as her world expanded in ways she could never have imagined.

As they prepared to leave the clearing, Adrian paused and placed a hand gently on her shoulder. "Tomorrow, we begin the next phase of your training. You will learn not just to react, but to anticipate, to harness your power in ways that will protect yourself and the pack. You will learn to fight with strategy, to sense danger before it arrives, and to trust your instincts implicitly."

Kane nodded, her chest tight with anticipation and fear. She had already learned so much, and yet she knew the path ahead would be more challenging, more dangerous, and more transformative than anything she had experienced.

Walking back through the moonlit forest, Kane felt the energy of the night settle around her like a cloak, both protective and exhilarating. Her senses remained heightened, her body humming with awareness, and the bond with Adrian pulled her forward, unyielding and magnetic. She realized she had crossed a threshold she could never return from.

"Adrian?" she asked hesitantly, breaking the comfortable silence between them. "Why me? Why now? Why did all of this have to find me?"

He glanced at her, his expression inscrutable.

"Because it was always meant to, Kane. Your parents' bloodline, the prophecy, the pack... it all led to you. And because you were ready. You may not have believed it yesterday, but now you are beginning to understand. You are stronger than you know, and the world needs that strength."

Kane drew a deep breath, letting the words settle into her consciousness. She had always lived cautiously, hiding behind the safe boundaries of Silverwood, but now, with the forest alive around her and Adrian beside her, she felt a fire ignite within. Fear remained, yes, but it was no longer paralyzing. It was a challenge, a signal that she was stepping into her true self, into the destiny that had been waiting for her since birth.

By the time they emerged from the forest and approached the outskirts of Silverwood, the first hints of dawn were touching the sky. The small town seemed unchanged, peaceful, and oblivious to the forces stirring beyond its borders. But Kane knew the truth. She was no longer the quiet, cautious girl who had wandered these streets yesterday. She was Luna, awakened, powerful, and bound to a destiny that demanded everything she was, and everything she was yet to become.

And as Adrian led her toward the town, his hand brushing hers in a fleeting, grounding touch, Kane realized that the bond between them was more than survival, more than instinct, and more than desire. It was destiny.

A destiny that could not be ignored.
