Chapter 8

He approached his desk and discovered scribbled paperwork. It was a script.

He attentively read it. The plot was elegant. He frowned at the notion that she was writing it.

William was skeptical. As he was replacing the papers and going to seek for the lady, a note dropped out.

I apologize for invading your study without permission.

My carelessness soaked your papers. I've attempted to recover your papers. Here's my apology for soaking your papers.

His fury over her selfishly entering his study had subsided.

The nice story made him intrigued about the

William set the note down and grabbed two papers.

He was leaving for work. Ada awoke at midday.

Rose made her meals.

Ada stopped wasting her life after failing to land that job. She needs a steady job. She can't get her mother's belongings for now.

Her mother needed money, even though she didn't spend much here.

She left after eating. she struggled to find a good job. Ada figured she could only look for a low-paying job after repeated rejections.

A high-end bar was hiring waitstaff. This job required no education. She can do this if she's quick-witted and reactive.

Ada didn't finish university, but she had attended.

She's witty. Chef hired her. She can start tomorrow.

She finally found work. Ada was relieved.

She left the bar and walked outside.

Under the sun, Ada's shadow was infinite. She was out alone.

"Ada" Ada turned to find the voice.

She saw Jonson from across the street.

"Jonson"

"Why are you still here?" Ada asked.

"I'm here for more work," he said, examining Ada.

Ada remembered a hospital scene.

good the pay was. In this country, he'd rather forget many people and things.

Ada admired the sky. Gradually, night fell. Two months had passed. She felt helpless and uncertain.

Reclaiming what was hers wasn't easy.

Jonson brushed her messy hair behind her ear and asked, "Any problems?"

Ada shook her head when she remembered when he helped her.

He knew what she was thinking, despite their short time together. She didn't want to rely on anyone.

"You're stubborn".

Ada pouted after hearing that. She didn't refuse help. She feared she couldn't repay hisr kindness.

"It's getting dark, Dr. Jonson, are you leaving?"

"Stop calling me Dr. Jonson."

"Call me by my name or Brother," he said.

"Are you my brother?"

"Yes." Jonson embraced her.

"Call me your brother," he said meekly.

" Ms. Wood?" William ignored pedestrians while driving. He turned after Jean reminded him...

When she came to herself, she struggled to wiggle away from his hold.

From William's viewpoint, they were like a couple who were wooing each other.

His brows couldn't help but frown.

Jean added lightly, "I didn't think that she truly had a boyfriend."

William immediately felt quite restless.

He stomped on the pedal hard and the car zoomed away.

Jean pursed her lips and questioned, "Are you furious about that?"

William snickered coldly, "Why should I be angry?"

She was now pregnant, thus it was reasonable that she was intimate with other males also!

He was merely being irritated for no reason after really watching her with other males!

Soon, the car halted in front of Jean's apartment.

She didn't get out of thecar quickly as she glanced wistfully at William,

"don't you want to come to my apartment for a while?"

As though she was terrified of being rejected, Jean said,

"William, I have prepared your favourite food-"

"Jean."

William interrupted her. He was perplexed by his irritation at the time.

He touched her hair and added, "I'tm not going to drop by today. Rest earlier."

"But." Jean didn't continue her remark but decided to alight his car meekly,

He took shorter time than typical to come home.

By the time he entered his house, Ada hadn't come home yet.

He unzipped his shirt while asking, "What time did she go out?"

"She went out at noon." Rose accepted his coat and said,

"Do you want to eat supper now?"

"Later." He didn't have any hunger at the time.

The two buttons next to his neck had fallen off. He didn't feel crushed by his shirt anymore,. It was a pretty bizarre sensation.

He pushed open the door to his study. Ada's memo was still laying on the table

. He snatched it up and let out a frigid chuckle,

"you're making yourself appearing really miserable in front of me, while behind my back, you are messing about with other guys. Ada , you definitely are different!"

He crumpled the document angrily after saying that.

Ada hailed a cab back home. Initially, Jonson had offered to bring her home, but she didn't want him to know about her link to William. Therefore, she had rejected him. There was just Rose at home, so Ada guessed that William hadn't returned yet.

Rose questioned her, "Are you thrilled about anything recently?"

Ada generated a grin, "I feel more at peace without him about here."

Rose didn't know how to answer her.

"Do you imply that I shouldn't be here?" Suddenly, his tall and thin form came at the entrance of his study.

He was resting against the hinge casually, and his tone sounded indifferent and sarcastic at the same time.

Ada swung around stiff, and her eyes rested on that guy who was resting on the door hinge.

He had a somber look on his face. Why was he at home at that moment?

There wasn't any trace of his arriving home before this, so Ada believed that he was not home yet. That was why she could speak so lightly.

"I." Ada attempted to explain, but William pushed by her and walked for the dining room.

He was asking Rose to serve the dinner. Ada carefully slid into her place beside the dinner table. She tried to speak for herself multiple times, but nothing came out of her lips.

William never once cast a look in her her throughout the entire session.

"Come into the study with me."

Ada instantly laid down her chopsticks and followed him inside his study area.

William sat down beside his desk and put the stack of her scripts in front of her. He peered at her slightly, "You know how to write a script?"

Ada nodded enthusiastically.
