Chapter 3

I followed the pinpoint schedule from the comments and began my "interception mission" for the next three days.

It was a Tuesday afternoon, and Henry was going to meet his second target offline. "MoonShadow" was the top-ranked assassin in all of "Shimmering Starfield".

I swapped into a black leather biker jacket and showed up at Enthrall Bar half an hour ahead of time.

"MoonShadow" was a rebellious young woman with silver hair who had a raw, untamed energy about her. She was visibly stunned as she reached the table and caught sight of me, her pace faltering slightly.

I merely swirled the cocktail in my glass and said softly, "You lost that open-world duel last time and owed me ten thousand gold. When do you plan to pay it back?"

Just that one piece of inside information from the game made "MoonShadow" drop her defenses. She—the unruly, high-ranking assassin in-game—blushed deeply as she hesitantly called out my in-game ID. "W-WindListener…"

Just as we were hitting it off, Henry burst through the door of the bar, huffing and puffing.

He had gone out of his way to wear an irresistibly cute, city-boy-style outfit, fully expecting to reel in his second target. He was, however, completely stunned and stood rooted to the floor the moment he looked toward the table and spotted me sitting there with "MoonShadow".

He was baffled as to how I met up with Yvonne the previous day and "MoonShadow" today. He finally understood that I hadn't just happened to pass by—I was systematically hunting down his targets with precision.

He trembled with fury, his eyes turning bloodshot as he clenched his fists until his nails pierced his skin. He saw "MoonShadow" treating me with such devotion and compliance that he couldn't bring himself to face me. He turned and fled the scene in a hurry instead.

It was a Wednesday night, and Henry planned to meet his third target—the game's top healer, "MiracleTouch".

I put on a refined, casual button-down and took my seat in the upscale restaurant early. "MiracleTouch" turned out to be a sophisticated, mature woman with gold-rimmed glasses. I simply told her that her bad positioning in the previous dungeon almost wiped out the party twice and that she owed us an apology for that, for her to gladly serve me my steak and wine.

Henry, all dressed up and arriving at the scene, saw me laughing and talking with "MiracleTouch". He was beside himself with rage.

"Oh no! It seems like the supporting male lead has snatched all of the male lead's targets!"

"He's absolutely livid! He's already smashed three glasses in his dorm room out of pure rage!"

"That supporting male lead is too cunning! He's using his inside knowledge to snatch the targets first!"

"You shouldn't back down now, Henry! You should just gather all four of them and have a face-to-face showdown!"

"That's right! You have to expose the supporting male lead for the account-stealing fraud he really is!"

I looked at the frantic scrolling of the comments in the comment section and smiled deeply, thinking that Henry had finally reached his breaking point and was ready to lash out in desperation.

Just as I expected, Henry sent me a message on Friday evening. "I've booked a private room at Peninsula View, and all four of them are coming. Do you have the guts to show up and confront them, Vincent?"

I looked at the message and almost laughed aloud, wondering if this was a case of the guilty accusing the innocent. Did Henry actually plan to assemble all four targets for a public condemnation meeting? He was practically begging for a quicker downfall.

I arrived at the designated spot at a leisurely pace and opened the door to the private room of Peninsula View at 8:00 pm.
