He Chose The Precious Healer, I Awoke The White Wolf Queen

A rogue's silver blade stole Arianna's unborn pup, but the deeper wound came when her mate, Alpha Chase, hung up on her plea for help. Instead of pack business, he was hosting a banquet for Carly, the Pack's Healer, holding her with a tenderness he never showed Arianna. When he returned at 2 AM reeking of lily perfume, he rejected her on the spot, expecting her to shatter. For three years, she had buried her identity as a genius tech developer and endured his abuse to be his perfect Luna. In his eyes, she was a pathetic maid who couldn't survive without him. But her love had already bled out. Staring into his merciless eyes, she accepted the rejection, felt their mate bond snap, and walked out to reclaim her tech empire—leaving him to drown in his own delusions.

Chapter 3

Arianna Pierce POV

The freezing night air whipped against my face, but I barely felt it. Standing by the iron gates of the Alpha's Estate, I waited for the Uber I had hailed using a human app.

Through the cracked living room window, the voices of my former mate and his Gamma drifted into the night. The dormant White Wolf bloodline, momentarily awakened by the trauma of the severed bond, made their conversation crystal clear.

"How could you do this, Chase?" Brandin's voice was laced with disbelief. Even from out here, I could sense his Grey Dire Wolf pacing in distress. "She just lost your pup to a Rogue's silver blade. And you Rej—"

"Keep your voice down," Chase snapped. Beneath his arrogant tone, I could hear the frantic, erratic thumping of his heart. His Black Dire Wolf was thrashing in unprecedented panic over the permanent loss of our bond, but Chase's colossal ego refused to acknowledge it. "I already had the separation papers and the fifty-million-dollar compensation card drawn up. A wolfless who can't even carry an Alpha pup isn't fit to be my Luna."

There was a heavy pause. "I bet she's actually done this time," Brandin muttered. "Three years of devotion, Chase. You broke her."

Chase let out a dark, mocking laugh. "She's just throwing a fit over the pup. A wolfless bitch with no inner wolf can't survive a day outside the Pack's borders. I bet you by sunrise, she'll be on her knees at these very gates, begging me to take her back."

Standing in the shadows, a cold, liberated smile touched my lips. I slipped my hand into my coat pocket, my fingers brushing against the cold plastic of the fifty-million-dollar compensation card. I had taken it without a second thought. It was the absolute least he owed me for three years of emotional abuse.

Headlights pierced the darkness as a standard black sedan pulled up to the curb. I opened the door, slid my suitcase into the back, and got in.

"Free No.1 Luxury Penthouse Complex, please," I told the human driver.

As the car sped away, leaving the suffocating pine and storm scent of the Wilder Pack behind, the massive gap between Chase's delusion and my reality almost made me laugh out loud. He thought I was playing a game. He had no idea the board had already been flipped.

An hour later, the taxi pulled up to the heavily guarded gates of the Free No.1 complex in the heart of the human city. The security here was impenetrable, completely isolated from the noise and prying eyes of the werewolf world.

I took the private elevator straight to Building 7, Penthouse 1.

When I pushed the heavy mahogany door open, I stepped into nearly three thousand square feet of pristine, minimalist perfection. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the glittering city skyline.

The air smelled of fresh linen and faint citrus. Not a single trace of an Alpha's oppressive pheromones.

I dropped my suitcase in the hallway. The place was spotless, completely ready for me to move in. And that wasn't a coincidence. I had used the early dividends from my Lugi-X defense system to secretly purchase this property months ago.

More importantly, I had used my AI system to schedule a human cleaning crew to prep the penthouse *before* I went for my walk near the territory borders this afternoon.

Even before the Rogue attack. Even before the silver blade destroyed my pup. Even before I saw the video of Chase holding Carly.

I had already planned to leave him. The tragedy of today hadn't sparked a sudden tantrum; it had merely killed the last pathetic, lingering ounce of pity I had for my own broken heart.

I walked into the massive marble bathroom, stripped off my blood-stained clothes, and stepped under the scalding spray of the shower. I scrubbed my skin until it was raw, washing away the stench of hospital bleach, wolfsbane, and the ghost of Chase's touch.

When I finally crawled into the center of the massive king-sized bed, the silence in the room was deafening. But for the first time in three years, the emptiness in my chest where the mate bond used to be didn't feel like a wound. It felt like a sanctuary.

I pulled the silk duvet over my shoulders, letting the profound, absolute peace of my new reality pull me into a deep, dreamless sleep.

The drill's whine was the only thing in my world, vibrating through my skull and drowning out my own screams. I was strapped to a cold metal table, paralyzed by wolfsbane, while surgeons bored into my hip bone to siphon my essence. "Just a little more," the surgeon muttered. "Isabella needs the boost for the wedding photos." They weren't saving my sister's life. They were harvesting my marrow just to make her skin glow for a picture. I looked at the observation window, begging with my eyes. Dante, the Alpha I had dragged from the jaws of death, stood there. He wasn't looking at me. He was holding Isabella's hand. He didn't know I was the one who healed him. He believed her lies. "Take it all if you have to," Dante's voice drifted through our fading mate bond. "Don't let her fade." The drill punched through. My heart stuttered and stopped. I died on that table, a hollowed-out husk used to feed my sister's vanity. "Seraphina! Are you deaf?" A sharp voice snapped me back into existence. I gasped, clutching my hip. No blood. No drill. No pain. I looked at the calendar on my father's desk. I was alive. And I had exactly one year before the surgery that killed me. I looked at my trembling hands and felt the ancient anger of my White Wolf stirring. I wasn't going to be the sacrifice this time. I was going to be the arsonist.
