Chapter 6

Cynthia POV It's been five days of endless questions and confusion about what happened that day. I keep getting lost in thought while thinking about him. I can't get him off my mind no matter how hard I try to. "You look very beautiful your highness," the maid uttered, grinning from ear to ear as she helped me pass my both hand through my night robe. I turned to her and gave a small smile, one that I knew didn't reach my eyes. I was lonely and this feeling had become a usual thing in my life. I shifted my gaze to the window and that's where my eyes landed on the twinkling stars that shoned bright and peaceful in the star They seemed peaceful. "Is there a place I can stand to look at the stars?"i asked, not glancing at the maid but fixing my gaze on the stars. "Yes your highness," she responded and I turned to her "Please take me there," I instructed softly and she nodded on agreement She lead me to a long dusty stairs that had cracks and seemed to break. Finally we reached the roof top of the royal pack house and I exhaled deeply when the gentle breeze of the night passed through my skin, sending shivers down my spine It was peaceful and quiet over here and once again, I shifted my gaze to the dark sky, filled with twinkling bright stars. If given a choice to be a human or a star, I would choose to be a star in the sky. "Leave us," I froze the instant that voice reached my ears. Cold, commanding yet soothing. I could recognize his voice anywhere. What the hell was Benson doing here? I meant it's his home but... "I've been looking for you," his soft voice made me relax, my once rigid shoulder slightly relaxed. I turned around slowly and fixed my gaze on his face. "I was just trying to clear my head," I said "From what happened that day in the bedroom?" He asked and my heart raced. We still haven't talked about that day till now and I can't help but feel nervous whenever we were both alone His voice was cold yet soothing, his aura was commanding yet I felt as ease by his side. But it wasn't right feeling this sort of way toward someone who I'm only supposed to stay with for six months. It just wasn't right. The only man who made my heart race so much like this was Jackson and he was my mate. "I don't know if my head is playing games or if we are truly mates but it sounds absurd if we say we are and I can't _" I stopped talking, my heart pounding loudly against my chest as I felt his warm body against mine. My eyes widened while my body remained frozen. Alpha Benson hands were wrapped around me in a hug and I didn't know what to say or think. He slowly loosened his grip around me and stared at my face. I could feel his eyes on my eyes and my eyes moved on their own, fixed on him and that when I realized how handsome he was. His toned jaw with his blue eyes and perfect thin lips left me hypnotized. His face drew closer until his lips were only an inch away from mine. Is he going to kiss me? No I don't think he would do that. That's impossible. Those thoughts died in my mind as his lips came crashing down on mine. I froze again for the third time, heart racing in a mix of excitement and trepidation, breath hitched and eyes widenened in shock. His cold hand came to my face, holding them between his hand and kissing me deeply. My eyes began to flutter close, my lips opening up gradually to feel the warmth of his tongue against mine. "Your highness," That voice sounded familiar It was the maid, my maid. Does that mean she caught us My eyes snapped open again and my eyes landed on Karen, my maid. "You've been sleeping for so long your highness," she uttered softly with a genuine smile plastered on her lips. Sleeping for so long? What did she mean? I turned my head to the window and realized It was day and the sun was shining so brightly from the window Not the stars. The curtains were neatly tucked at a side. Shifting my gaze to my body, I was dressed in my night wear with no robe. "Good morning your highness," Karen greeted warmly, bowing slightly in respect and that's when it hit me Morning sun, day as bright as the sun, no stars, no robe. F*ck. It was a dream. A very real and hot dream "Where's his majesty?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper "He's in the throne room your highness," she responded and I sighed in relief This meant that the kiss really didn't happen and it was all in my head. "That's good to know," I uttered breathlessly. "Are you alright your highness,?" She asked, her eyes filled with worry roaming my face. I sighed in deeply "I'm fine," I stammered, my voice trembling as I tried to calm myself That dream was unexpected and hot. Would it be bad to say a part of me wished it wasn't a dream? ★★★★★ "Messages have been sent countless times to the Alpha Lord for the weapons and yet, nothing has been delivered to us," One of the oldest pack elder, elder Taylor chipped in I was in the throne room, sitting beside Benson as he and the elders talked about different activities and occurrence in the pack. I felt like I was invisible. Just sitting pretty with my mouth shut. Not like I had anything to say in the first place. I still couldn't even get why I had to be present for every council meeting. Back in the supreme dynasty, I wasn't involved in meeting with the elders and the alpha Lord. "Could it be that he isn't receiving those messages?" Elder Maurice uttered, narrowing his eyes like he was in deep thought "That could be possible too, right?" Elder Chris asked, staring at Alpha Benson "He is intentionally avoiding our messages. There's no way a message from any of the packs doesn't get to the Alpha Lord," Benson uttered and in that moment, the door burst open Three men who I recognize as alpha from the other pack stormed in. Their eyes roamed the room and the instant their eyes landed on me, they pointed in my direction with fury eyes "There she is. Seize her and punish her," one of them barked and some guards instantly ran toward me "What!" I exclaimed in shock, fear gripping me. "You will not touch her," Benson ordered coldly and thefe was a swift silence in the room. "How dare you barge into my throne room without any respect? How dare you come in here without informing me?" Benson asked, authority laced in his tone "We are sorry alpha Benson for not informing you before coming here but this is urgent and it must be treated as such. We are here go take her away," "By who's order?" Brian asked "We discoverd something that we think you should see," the other alpha said and walked to Benson, handing a paper to him Benson glared daggers at him before collection the paper and opening it roughly. Staring at the paper, there was a frown on his face and confusion in his eyes "What's this?" he asked, his brows knitted in a frown. My heart raced in trepidation, curiosity engulfing me like a blanket What could be in that papar and why were they here to take me? What did I do? I had so many questions in my mind and yet, no answer to them. "That's is evidence that Luna Cynthia is a spy working with Alpha Lord Jackson to seize your pack and have control over it," I froze the instant I heard these words. My eyes shifted to the paper in Benson hand and only one question rang in my thoughts. How the hell did they get their hands on that?
