Fated to the Alpha’s Redemption

I abandoned him at his lowest point. Later, when he made a comeback, we ran into each other at a bar. I was wrapped in another man's embrace. **Alpha Kelvin Jones**, the leader of the Shadow Moon Pack, fought fiercely, pulling me away from that embrace. Everyone said that **the Alpha** was the type of man who would go to battle for a woman, and that I must have been the one he cherished most. Yet later, he flaunted countless women before me to humiliate me, making me the butt of jokes. But I neither cried nor complained, nursing no grudges. Infuriated, he kissed me roughly and growled, "You're not my Marilyn Edwards, give her back to me!" But I couldn’t. His Marilyn was sick. Gravely ill.

Chapter 1

Each day, I silently questioned how much longer I could go on.

Late at night, **the Alpha** was pressing down on me. He gripped my waist and pinned my arms, holding me against the bed, overcome with desire. But the moment his phone rang, he stopped abruptly. I heard him softly reassuring the person on the other end. I tugged at the hem of his shirt. "Where are you going?" It was the first time I wanted him to stay. He pushed me away without hesitation. "Marilyn, know your place." I knew he was telling me I had no right to question the Alpha. I forced a smile and said, "Stay, please, just this once." **Alpha**, my mother is gone, and I can’t hold on much longer. He looked displeased, gripping my chin tightly as he coldly replied, "Marilyn, you made your choices back then, and now you must face the consequences. You have no right to say such things." I heard the sound of his car starting. Lying in bed, I fell into a daze. A whirlwind of noise filled my head, and I turned to bury my face in the pillow, trying to escape reality, the damp and salty smell revealing the tears I’d shed these past days. Until dawn broke, **the Alpha** never returned. Staring at my reflection in the mirror. Sleepless the entire night, I looked ghastly, my eyes red and swollen. I quickly washed my face and prepared to leave. Today I needed to go to the hospital to handle my mother’s death certificate.

My mother, an Omega in the Shadow Moon Pack, died in a tragic car accident. The pack’s healers said she had sneaked out of the hospital in the middle of the night when the nurse wasn’t paying attention. She was hit by a speeding truck while crossing the street. They told me that she had been recovering well over the past few years and couldn’t understand why she suddenly ran out. My mother only had me. She spent her last years in the hospital, having no friends. Her funeral was simple. As I finalized the death certificate, I ran into **Alpha Kelvin Jones**. His step faltered slightly, his brow furrowing as if my presence there was an unforgivable sin. "Why are you here?" Today wasn’t a scheduled day for me to visit my mother. Naturally, **the Alpha** assumed I was stalking him. I didn’t want to waste time with him, turned away to leave, but was blocked by **Beta Layla Mitchell**. Her smile was bright and slightly provocative. "Marilyn, I twisted my ankle yesterday when I tried to rescue a kitten hit by a car. With no one else to turn to, I called **the Alpha** to take me to the vet. Unfortunately, the kitten didn’t make it, which is why he accompanied me here today." I looked at Layla with a blank expression. Whatever their relationship was like now didn’t matter. Neither of them was marked or bonded to anyone else, so it wasn’t my concern. I lowered my head and chuckled, "You don’t need to explain anything to me. Rest assured, soon enough, no one will bother you anymore." Mom’s gone, and I can’t hold on much longer either. "You should go home." **The Alpha** shielded Layla protectively, as if afraid I might harm her. In the past, I would have argued with him, but now, I had no desire to speak with him at all. Let him think whatever he wants; I’m exhausted. "Alright." I didn’t want to waste any more time with **the Alpha** and brushed past him. After just a few steps, everything went black, and I fainted amidst the noise. Before I lost consciousness, I heard **the Alpha’s** anxious voice, "Marilyn! Marilyn! Please…"

I married the Alpha of the top pack, but he hasn't touched me for a year. Yet by chance, I heard him crying to his younger brother. "She actually ordered three of the strongest warriors to accompany her, and the four of them went to train alone." He was so upset that he burst into tears. "Ron, if you're too scared, wait until sister-in-law is tempted by those guys and orders them to get intimate with her, you'll cry with no tears left." He immediately stopped crying: "What do they count for? Those outside are just wild grass; nothing's as sweet as one's own." "As long as she's still willing to come back, she can do whatever she wants." Roger rubbed his forehead and sighed:”Ron, why don't you ask the shaman to take a look?" Later, I secretly asked the shaman. The shaman gave me a note written by Ron himself: "I have... intimacy addiction. I love my wife very much, but I'm afraid of scaring her. What should I do?"

The dawn light filtered through the heavy curtains of my father's chamber, casting long shadows across his gaunt face. Beta Ashford, once the strongest wolf in Silvermoon Pack, now lay withered against silk pillows, his breathing labored. The rare illness consuming him had stolen his vigor, leaving behind only a shell of the man who had raised me. "Victoria," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "Come closer, daughter." I knelt beside his bed, taking his frail hand in mine. His skin felt like parchment, thin and cool to the touch. "Father, please rest. The healer said—" "The healer cannot save me." His amber eyes, though clouded with pain, fixed on mine with startling clarity. "My time grows short, Victoria. Before I join the Moon Goddess, I must see you secured." My chest tightened.

Beta Marcus, I want to reject Alpha Kai and leave this pack forever. Please draft the rejection papers for me." Marcus's face darkened with worry. His voice was careful, almost fearful. "Elena, your bond wasn't simple to form. I watched you nearly die three times before your wolf accepted him. Think carefully before you destroy what the Moon Goddess gave you." I had been Alpha Kai's mate for three years—and his greatest disappointment for just as long. A month ago, I collapsed during a pack ceremony. My body was shutting down from severe anemia, my wolf so weak she could barely keep me breathing. The pack doctor made seventeen calls to my mate that night, begging him to come to the hospital because shared the same rare AB-negative blood type. But Kai never answered. That night, while I was dying alone on a cold hospital bed, my mate was in our bedroom with Sophia, my adopted sister. Through the mate bond, I felt every moment of passion that should have been mine given to her. The pack doctor found a traveling healer with compatible blood just in time. And this time, I was ready to disappear for good. "I've made up my mind," I told Marcus. "And Kai won't fight it. He's been waiting for an excuse to get rid of me since our mating ceremony." I had always known the truth—not once in three years had my mate looked at me with anything but duty. But I had loved him since we were children. When the pack elders announced our engagement, I sobbed with happiness, thinking my cursed life had finally found its purpose. How stupid I had been.

Sabrina left on a Tuesday night. She didn't say goodbye. She didn't leave an explanation, not really — just a folded note on top of her packed suitcase that said she refused to be auctioned off like livestock. The handwriting was neat and unhurried, like she'd had time to think about it. Like she'd been planning it for a while. I found out the same way I found out most things in our house. I was summoned. "Kitchen. Now." My mother's voice through the door, flat and clipped. I came downstairs in my socks to find both my parents standing at the kitchen island.

The mirror reflected a stranger in the blood-red gown Caden had selected for tonight's anniversary gala. Five years of pretending to be something I wasn't—his Luna, his mate, his everything. My fingers traced the intricate neckline, wondering if he'd chosen this dress because it matched his eyes when he was angry. "You look beautiful," I whispered to myself, practicing the smile I'd wear when I told him about the baby. After all these years, the Moon Goddess had blessed us with a miracle. The pack doctor had confirmed it just yesterday—a pregnancy that should have been impossible given my suppressed Omega nature. I touched my still-flat stomach, feeling a flutter of genuine joy beneath years of carefully constructed composure. "Tonight will change everything," I promised my unborn child. "He'll finally see us." The grand ballroom of the Blood River Pack house glittered with champagne flutes and power players from neighboring territories. As Luna, I'd spent weeks orchestrating this fifth anniversary celebration of Caden's reign.
