Chapter 1
Athena's pov
"I'm sorry, Luna Athena, the pregnancy results came out negative," I took the envelope with shaky fingers, licking my top lip nervously, wetting it as rapid thoughts spiraled through my mind.
"Are you sure this wasn't a mistake?" I asked the pack doctor desperately. "I haven't seen my flow for 2 months now, I was sure–"
"It's not a mistake," He affirmed with a hint of impatience. "I've already done this test for you three times, every time it's negative because you're not pregnant,"
His words felt like a death sentence, my fingers reached for the closest thing, his oak desk. The rims of my eyes burned with unshed tears.
"What will I tell the Alpha?" I whispered, my heart slowing down.
"What else can you tell him? The truth," the pack doctor said dismissively, " I pushed myself up to my feet, they nearly gave out under me.
"Don't overthink it, this is probably why you have not been able to get pregnant and why you have not been seeing your monthly flow. Stress can be a huge factor and..." he was blabbing when I walked out of the consultation room, swaying like a reanimated corpse.
One of my 'bodyguard's' read despondent look off my face like a book, he placed two fingers on his ear probably mind linking the others outside the pack hospital.
In moments, Raphael would know that I had failed him once again.
Cold shiver ran from the tip of my fingers all across my entire body, freezing me please until the bodyguard nudged me with his bull sized body, pushing me towards the elevator.
I knew that he was employed not because Raphael was really concerned about my safety, but just to keep me in line. To make sure I never ran away and remained his puppet forever.
Several years had passed, but I still remember the day my stepfather summoned me. He called me into his inner chambers then took me to the balcony ranting some nonsense about pack politics and needed to stay loyal no matter what.
All in all I was more than relieved when he finally shut up for like 2 seconds, but that was when he pressed a heavy hand on my shoulder and told me that I would be marrying the Cold Alpha king of the silver moon pack.
I chuckled at first, assuming he was trying to mess with me with his usual morbid humor.
He wasn't joking.
"Why? Why me?!" I cried out.
He laughed, "You didn't actually think that I would send my own daughter right?"
A lump the size of a fist formed in my throat.
I never truly saw him as family, and I knew my feelings weren't one-sided. But to think that he would do this to me.
Alpha Raphael had a reputation that preceded him, a bad one, to say the least. He was cunning, cruel and vicious. The type of person one would bring up in a horror story that would send pups to sleep with nightmares.
"I will not marry him!" I stood my ground at first, "not now not ever!"
But I didn't have a choice, my stepfather, Alpha Chris told me for formality sake. I was tied down with silver ropes and shipped off like nothing.
And after I got to Silver moon things only managed to get worst, as desperate as it was I tried to console myself that at least I would no longer be living on that same with my obnoxious stepsister, Isabella and no matter how cruel an Alpha was they were bound to show some respect to their Luna.
Boy, was I wrong.
On our first meeting I was pushed down to my knees by his men, still bound by the ropes.
He raked his eyes across my body like I was just a piece of flesh, wearing a hungry look in his eyes that frightened me.
"Are you pure?" He asked in a voice that matched his eyes perfectly.
"W-what do y-you mean?" I stuttered like an idiot because of how scared I was.
"Are you a virgin?" He said and some of his subordinates chuckled amongst themselves, enjoying the show and making little effort to hide it.
"N-no," I said.
His eyes suddenly darkened in an instant, "What?! After all the money I gave to your scumbag father for his company–he didn't tell me that he was bringing a used up slut to be my breeder!"
"Breeder?!" I repeated his words as my eyes bulged in their sockets.
A look of sickening amusement rolled through his eyes.
"Oh, so he didn't tell you? The name of Luna is just a cover up, your role is to give me a pup, specifically a boy. I don't have any use for girl pups, until you are able to provide me with an heir, you will remain here."
"Maybe I should send your head back to him to show him I don't play around," He grabbed my neck, an electrical feeling ran through both of our bodies.
He was my mate, why him. I knew he felt it too. He was thrown aback for a moment. He yanked his hand off of my neck like he just touched a snake unknowingly.
But he didn't acknowledge the mate bond. Was I mistaken?
He might have not said anything about the mate bond but he still let me stay.
Years had passed and Raphael had called me every other name other than the one my mom had given to me because I 'failed' to give him an heir. But I wouldn't have minded if his punishments only ended with verbal abuse.
Returning back to the pack house, I lost a few years of my life just walking towards the front door with guards standing at all sides like walls, ready to barricade and eradicate any chance of an escape.
With my heart in my throat, I walked in. Heading over to his office as I always did with the envelope in my hand.
His eyes followed me, studying me carefully as I placed the envelope on his desk while I remained on my knees–another sick fetish of his that I always had to deal with.
Raphael already knew the contents of the letter, this entire humiliation ritual was just to put me down in front of his staff, to remind them I was only Luna on paper and the truth was that I was just his breeder.
He went through everyday detail on the results, then placed it on the table like it would shatter.
"Gerald, bring her cage."

The body of my sister, Annabelle, was found brutally stuffed inside an ottoman in our living room.
The house was locked from the inside, and the police didn't have a single lead.

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong.
Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak.
I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess.
The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years.
I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to.
But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.

I hovered in the corner of the damp Runt Quarters, powerless as a ghost, watching my five-year-old daughter take her last breath.
She died of a fever that a simple medicine could have cured.
But my husband, Alpha Elroy, refused to pay for it. He was too busy dining with his mistress to waste resources on a "runt."
When he finally arrived, there were no tears.
He picked up my daughter’s small body like a bag of trash and tossed her into the incineration pit meant for criminals.
"Stop hiding, Annis!" he roared at the empty woods, thinking I was alive and watching. "Your trick didn't work. The runt is dead."
I screamed at him, clawing at his suit, but my hands passed right through him.
Days later, his mistress gave birth to a son. But the baby was born with a fractured soul, dying.
The doctor said only a bone marrow graft from the White Wolf bloodline could save him.
Elroy didn't hesitate. He looked toward the incineration pit.
"Retrieve the girl's body," he commanded his warriors. "Her bones will save the future Alpha."
He intended to butcher our daughter's corpse to save his illegitimate child.
Enraged, he hunted down the Rogue who had secretly stolen Emma's body before it could burn.
"Give me the body!" Elroy demanded. "And tell Annis to stop spoofing her credit cards in Europe and show her face!"
The Rogue looked at him with cold pity and threw a coroner's report at his chest.
"Annis isn't in Europe, Elroy."
"She has been rotting in a shallow grave for six months. Your mistress paid for the bullet."

My mate, Theron, was a powerful Alpha, and I, a scentless Omega, was his greatest prize. But beneath his adoring facade was a terrifying, possessive monster, revealed when he dragged me home and forced me into our bed after I was late to his challenge match. His golden eyes burned with chilling control, and he whispered a threat that turned my blood to ice.
I'd been stuck on a forest road, my truck dead, racing to reach his challenge match. His mate bond panic had already frayed my nerves, but nothing prepared me for his rage. He'd publicly broken his opponent's shoulder, then stalked directly to me, ignoring the crowd. He marked my lateness with chilling precision, before dragging me away to our rooms for "punishment."
Later, as he tried to force a ceremonial marking pendant on me, he promised, "If you will not accept my mark willingly, then I will wait for your Heat. I will fuck you until your body begs for it, and my wolf will hold you down while I bite." My gaze fell on his open journal, filled with frantic, scrawled words: "SHE IS MINE. PUNISH. CLAIM. MARK HER. BREED HER. MAKE HER UNDERSTAND SHE IS MINE. MINE. MINE."
The man I loved, my only protection, was a captor in disguise, his devotion a gilded cage. Every gentle touch, every soft word, now felt like a brand of ownership, a tightening leash. The terrifying truth of his pathological obsession finally hit me.
A fragile plan formed in the space between heartbeats: I would de-escalate, redefine, and survive, no matter the cost, before his possessive madness consumed me entirely.

Allegra woke up in a sterile alien hospital with no memory, no ID chip, and a terrifying snow leopard General claiming responsibility for her crash.
But a routine ID scan at a local boutique shattered her fragile cover.
The machine shrieked, flashing a fatal red warning: NO NEURAL LINK DETECTED.
She was a "Ghost"—an illegal, unregistered biological entity in a ruthless Hybrid Empire.
The boutique locked down instantly. Heavily armed police swarmed the plaza, laser sights painting her chest red.
She was dragged into a subterranean military black site, where a manic geneticist tested her blood and discovered the impossible truth.
She wasn't a Hybrid. She was a pure Homo Sapiens—an extinct race whose mere presence could cure the Hybrids' fatal Psyche collapse.
To keep her all to himself, the scientist lied to the General, branding her a toxic, mutating bio-weapon.
Forced by Imperial law, the General abandoned her to the scientist's cruel custody.
Allegra was locked inside a reinforced glass cage in the deepest isolation ward, waiting to be dissected.
She huddled on the floor, trembling in absolute despair.
She didn't belong in this nightmare world. Why was she being treated like a monster? Why did this madman look at her like a prize to be torn apart?
Watching the scientist's fox ears twitch in manic stress outside the glass, her human empathy momentarily overrode her terror.
She stood up and pressed her palm against the glass, perfectly aligning it with his.
"Don't be so nervous, Mr. Fox."
Instantly, an invisible wave of human resonance flooded his core, shattering his genetic madness.
The terrifying predator was reduced to a whimpering, devoted puppy, pressing himself against the window in absolute submission.
Allegra slowly pulled her hand back, her heart skipping a beat.
Well, she thought, that changes things.
