Fake Heiress? I'm Actually Their Creditor
Chapter 3
The guests began discussing the car.
I shot an amused glance at Brandon. It seemed he had finally realized that his family couldn't afford such an expensive car. It shouldn't take long for him to realize that I wasn't Millie and that he and Sienna had humiliated the wrong person.
Unexpectedly, a steely expression appeared on Brandon's face as he pointed a trembling finger at me.
"You really are something else. How dare you convince Mom and Dad to buy such an expensive car for you? How shameless can you be, Millie? You're not even a Jensen. How dare you use Mom's and Dad's money to buy this car?"
He then pulled out his phone and snapped a picture of the car to identify it. His eyes widened when he learned the cost of the car.
"This car costs so much? Did you drain all of their savings to buy it? I was wondering why they've been reducing the amount of money they send to me every year. Turns out that you've been spending all their money, you faker!"
Furious, Brandon tried to lunge at me, but Sienna grabbed his hand and held him back.
"Calm down, Brandon," she said in a faux-considerate tone. "Besides, I came here to settle the score with her, so why don't we calculate how much of our family's money she has spent and get her to return every single penny at once?"
Sienna lifted her chin and brandished the ledger again. She raised her voice and began listing everything off in a sharp tone.
"I've compiled everything in this ledger, including the clothing, food, housing, and transportation bills during your stay at the Jensen residence, your school fees, as well as your expenditures for your daily necessities.
"Everything has been listed down clearly. An outsider like you must pay us back for all of the Jensen family's money that you've spent!"
I nearly burst into laughter when I took the ledger and glanced at it.
I hadn't expected Sienna to be so meticulous and calculating. She even listed down the number of sanitary pads that were used every month as if she was so averse to the thought of spending even a single dime on Millie.
"Your calculation skills are quite extraordinary, Ms. Jensen. You even calculated the price of every single drop of facial cleanser that was used daily down to the decimal. I'm quite impressed."
The onlookers' faces twisted upon hearing my words. None of them had expected Sienna to be so meticulous in her calculations. Truth be told, her behavior was rather unpresentable.
Realizing that something was amiss with the way the onlookers were looking at her, a glint of malice flickered in Sienna's eyes. She then threw herself into Brandon's arms and began crying pitifully.
"You don't have to be sarcastic, Millie. I grew up in the sticks. A few dollars might mean nothing to you, but it's enough to cover my expenses for a few days!
"You grew up in a life of luxury, so I know that you look down on a woman from the mountains like me. But you don't have to be so mean to me, do you?"
A steely expression appeared on Brandon's face upon hearing Sienna's words. He pulled her behind him and pointed an accusing finger at me.
"What's with the sarcastic tone, Millie? If you didn't take Sienna's place and steal her identity, do you really think that you would be standing here in your tailored clothes right now? You stole everything that you have now from Sienna. How shameless do you have to be to keep antagonizing her?"
The crowd began discussing among themselves again as they shot looks of disdain and contempt at me.
"I really wonder where this fake heiress is getting the confidence to act so arrogantly. If I were in her shoes, I would have made myself scarce ages ago."
"Does she really believe that the Jensens will take her side because they took care of her for so many years when Sienna is their flesh and blood? A fake is still a fake. It doesn't matter that they raised her for years. She should know her place and leave now that the real daughter is back."
"No one in the world would be willing to give up a life of riches to live a tough life instead. She's such a malicious woman."
I took a deep breath and stared into Brandon's furious eyes.
"I'm not Millie Jensen," I said coldly. "You've got the wrong person."
