Chapter 3

Aurelie turned to Vincent and smiled.

Vincent was captivated. He had never seen such clear, though empty, eyes.

The eyes were shaped like almonds, and the eyeballs were dark bluish purple. It is a unique and very beautiful color combination.

Taking advantage of their proximity, Vincent examined Aurelie more closely.

This blind girl was very beautiful. Not a sharp kind of beauty, but delicate like a rose petal.

Her skin was pearly white, with a subtle pink hue. Her hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes were a mocha brown, all in perfect proportion to her petite face and petite body, only halfway up Vincent's upper arm

With her wavy hair flowing down her back, if she were wearing a short, lacy dress, she might have been mistaken for a fairy.

"Alpha Vincent, she smells so good," Varn said, sniffing the air. "Like roses and baby powder."

Vincent cleared his throat. "You might--"

"You're my husband, aren't you?" Aurelie replied softly. "We've signed the marriage certificate, and that officially declares us husband and wife."

"By the Moon Goddess, Alpha Vincent, this woman makes me feel weak," Varn murmured. "Her tenderness is truly enchanting."

Vincent felt his blood rushing to a single point in his body. Aurelie's voice was so soft and melodious. His desire rose uncontrollably.

"You know that-"

Aurelie nodded, cutting him off. "Yes, I know, and I think you should be at our wedding, right? Would you like to come to our wedding party?"

Vincent was surprised to learn that Aurelie had actually sensed it when he was sitting next to her during the photo session and the certificate signing, not Mathew, but she still went along with the wedding register without any hesitation.

"Hmm, this is interesting," Varn said. "The fact that she knew she was being lied to, yet she kept quiet and did it all."

"Do you really think she's blind?" Vincent asked. "Why do I feel like her eyes are too beautiful to be blind?"

"Test it," Varn said. "I'm curious too. Besides, I can't see any signs of her inner wolf."

Vincent then tested Aurelie using gestures. He waved his hand in front of her, as well as other methods to see if she was just pretending to be blind.

"She really is blind, Varn," Vincent said.

"And she's wolfless," Varn replied. "I didn't sense any inner wolf in her at all."

"This is getting interesting," Vincent said with a grin. "An make me curious."

The car that was picking Aurelie up arrived. Vincent helped her into the car.

"I'm coming to our wedding," Vincent said with a chuckle. "You go on ahead."

When Aurelie arrived at the Damon family home, Caroline Lyman, her stepmother and Fiora, immediately greeted her impatiently.

They pulled Aurelie into the living room, where she tripped over a table leg and sat her down on the sofa.

"How is it? Have you finished registering your marriage with Mathew?" Caroline asked curiously. She glanced at Fiora and smiled.

Aurelie nodded. "Everything is over, and my marriage is officially registered."

Fiora took Aurelie's bag and forced it open. "Where's the marriage certificate?8 I want to see."

Fiora took Aurelie's marriage certificate and stared wide-eyed. She nudged her mother's arm and showed it.

Upon seeing that the groom listed on the document was Vincent Alexander Keagan, mother and daughter could barely contain their satisfaction and triumph.

Everybody knew that Vincent was a Casanova. He lived a carefree life, disliked ties, and only played around with women. He changed women every month, if not less.

Worse than that, no woman, human or werewolf, could stand him.

Rumors circulated that he was a sexual sadist, adding that many women had met their end in his bed.

Caroline grinned. A terrible fate at Vincent's hands seemed almost inevitable for Aurelie, especially since she was an Omega who had no inner wolf whatsoever.

Caroline was certain Aurelie wouldn't last more than a month with Vincent.

"We did it, Mom," Fiora whispered. "She'll be kicked out soon and was humiliated after Damon's family found out that she had--"

"Aurelie, are you here?"

Suddenly, Mathew entered the living room of his family's house, waving the marriage certificate in his hand.

"What's this? Why is the name on this certificate Vincent Keagan? Aurelie, have you changed my name to Vincent?" Mathew asked angrily.

Caroline and Fiora held back laughter. They knew Mathew was acting.

Aurelie didn't answer at all.

"She must have changed my name while I was taking care of the stamp duty and payment for this marriage certificate," Mathew said coldly. "You're really too much, Aurelie. You're blind, yet you can do something this cunning?"

Caroline and Fiora felt they had succeeded, quite easily getting rid of this "thorn in the flesh" named Aurelie, working with Mathew.

"Why would you do something like this, Aurelie?" Fiora said. "You'll embarrass Mathew!"

"This is no joke, Aurelie," Caroline retorted. "You're going to mess this whole thing up!"

The mother and daughter fully expected Aurelie to be kicked out of the Damon family without ceremony, leaving Fiora free to take her place and become the heir's wife of Damon family.

"What should I do?" Mathew muttered, feigning confusion. "I never expected Aurelie to treat me like this. If you really didn't want to marry me, couldn't you have just refused from the start, Aurelie?"

Fiora touched Mathew's shoulder and squeezed gently. "This is an important matter, and the wedding ceremony should be taking place soon. Your father needs to know about this before he receives his important guests."

Before Fiora finished speaking, Reynold Damon entered the living room with a beaming smile.

"Are the bride and groom ready? The blessing ceremony is about to begin, and I need to announce the bride and groom's names to the guests," Reynold said excitedly.

Matthew approached his father with a sad expression on his face.

"Dad, actually-"

"Mathew, just give the marriage certificate to your father," Fiora whispered from behind him.

"What's going on?" Reynold asked with a raised eyebrow. "Mathew? What's going on?"

Impatiently, Fiora handed Aurelie's marriage certificate to him.

Caroline gave Fiora a thumbs-up, and they both waited with bated breath, anticipating the moment when Aurelie would be humiliated and thrown out of the Damon family home.

Aurelie, on the other hand, remained calm. She simply listened intently as she waited to see what would happen.

"You're confusing me," Reynold said. "The guests are starting to arrive, and you're not even ready yet!"

He opened the marriage certificate and his eyes fell on the couple7 photo on the certificate and read the names Aurelie Shane Lyman and Vincent Alexander Keagan.

As Caroline, Fiora, and Mathew had predicted, Reynold immediately exploded in anger.

"WHAT THE HELL? AURELIE, EXPLAIN WHY VINCENT KEAGAN'S NAME IS ON THIS MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE?" Reynold shouted thunderously. "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO MARRY MY SON!"

"Dad, calm down," Mathew said, pretending to reassure his father, but the corners of his lips quirked up in a smile.

"Maybe Aurelie doesn't want to marry me and-"

"IF SHE DIDN'T WANT TO MARRY YOU, WHY DIDN'T SHE REFUSE FROM THE FIRST!" Reynold shouted. "FURTHER THAN, SHE'S ALSO MARRIED TO VINCENT KEAGAN, OUR ARCH ENEMY!"

Caroline pulled Aurelie's hand, causing her to fall to the floor.

"Aurelie, you must explain your intentions and apologize to Mr. Damon," Caroline snapped fiercely.

Reynold's loud voice caught the attention of the guests already present in the foyer, and they gathered curiously at the threshold of the living room.

Vincent had just gotten out of his car when he heard Reynold's shout. He calmly entered the Damon family home and stood behind the other guests who had gathered to watch.

Vincent's above-average height made it easy for him to see what was happening in the living room.

His heart throbbed with emptiness when he saw Aurelie sitting on the floor, surrounded by the shouts and screams of the people standing around her.

Vincent's fists clenched tightly, and he stepped forward, pushing through the crowd and open his mouth...
