Divorce Following Pregnancy Novel Cover

Divorce Following Pregnancy

In the third year of their marriage, Liam became infatuated with his new secretary, Lindsay Price. She was open and bold. Her personal motto was "Fortune favors the bold." In bed, she knew countless different positions, and outside of it, she accompanied Liam in various thrilling activities. While he went out with Lindsay, he maintained the facade of a devoted husband by fabricating where he had been to Lillian Walsh. "I'm not coming home tonight. I was drunk, so I'm sleeping at the office." Lindsay chuckled beside him. She said with a hint of teasing provocation, "When are you going to divorce that boring old woman?" The call ended abruptly. Unbeknownst to them, Lillian was sitting in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department and staring at the pregnancy report at her fingertips. She had been pregnant for six weeks. After she left the hospital, she called her brother, Ricky Walsh, who was a lawyer. "Ricky, I need you to make a divorce agreement for me." Ricky paused briefly and then asked, "Are you sure about this?" Lillian replied calmly, "Yes. I'm pregnant. I plan to keep the baby myself."

Chapter 4

The doctor learned that Lillian was six weeks pregnant and took her case seriously. After bandaging her wounds, the doctor immediately arranged for a thorough check-up for her.

"Ms. Walsh, don't worry. The baby is alright. You are slightly bleeding. I'll prescribe some medication to help stabilize the pregnancy. Have a good rest during this period."

Lillian breathed a sigh of relief and nodded gratefully. "Thank you, doctor."

A long time later, Liam finally showed up at the hospital when Lillian was lying listlessly on a hospital bed and staring blankly out of the window.

She didn't look like the spirited young princess she once had been. Instead, she seemed as fragile as porcelain at that moment.

Liam hesitated before walking to her bedside and taking her hand. "Lillian, I've broken up with her. I promise it won't happen again. Please forgive me this time, won't you?"

Lillian looked at his hand, but what surfaced in her mind was her life, which felt like being trapped in a cage for the past three years.

Her expression was cold as she forcefully withdrew her hand. Then she shut her eyes and ignored him.

There was no future for her and him anymore.

The next day, Lillian returned home. Liam deliberately put away his work to stay with her at home. He even followed her around.

He watched as Lillian was busy handling many things. She threw away keepsakes of their shared past and then packed her things into a large suitcase.

It looked like she was leaving him forever.

Liam grew anxious.

He pointed to the items Lillian had thrown into the trash, and his face turned pale. "These are all gifts we exchanged before. Why are you throwing them away?"

Before Lillian responded, he pointed at her suitcase and asked anxiously, "And this. Where are you going, Lillian?"

Lillian replied casually, "It's been a rough patch lately. I want to travel and relax."

Liam looked at her expression carefully, but Lillian met his gaze without flinching.

He couldn't see anything from her intentions, so he breathed a sigh of relief and said with a smile, "It's good to have a trip. Let me join you. It's been ages since we traveled together."

Before Lillian could refuse, his phone rang abruptly.

Liam glanced at it, and his expression changed slightly. He instinctively tried to conceal his phone before stepping aside to answer the call.

Unfortunately, Lillian had already seen the name "Lindsay" on the screen.

Just then, a servant handed her a document. "Ms. Walsh, someone delivered the document for you just now."

Lillian opened it, only to see their divorce certificates were there.

Just at that moment, her phone vibrated with a ticket purchase notification, accompanied by a message from Ricky. "Lillian, congratulations on starting anew. Welcome home."

Lillian's eyes reddened slightly as she tucked the divorce certificates into her handbag.

Liam finished the call and turned around. He only saw the corner of the divorce certificates disappearing from view.

A sense of unease welled up in him as he walked up to her. He asked, "What is that?"

Lillian didn't reply. Instead, she changed the subject and asked, "Whose call was that?"

Liam's gaze flickered, and he sounded guilty. "Sorry, honey. Someone from the company says there is something I have to handle there. I can't go with you. So we'll have to postpone our trip together."

Lillian had anticipated that and replied flatly, "That's okay."

Liam couldn't have the trip with her, so he drove her to the airport.

On their way, he frequently checked his phone and responded to messages with it. And he always had a subtle smile on his lips.

He was likely already fantasizing about spending romantic days with Lindsay while Lillian was away.

Lillian's gaze turned cold. When he wasn't paying attention, she placed his copy of the divorce certificate in the glovebox of the passenger seat.

At the airport, Liam hugged her. He said gently, "Don't stay away too long, honey. I'll be waiting for you to come back."

Lillian felt the familiar embrace, and her eyes reddened slightly.

"Liam, I had a gift for you. It's in the glovebox. Don't forget to check it." With that, she took a long look at him and then left without hesitation.

Liam stood there and watched her figure disappear before returning to his car.

He was joyful and was about to open the glovebox, only to notice a piece of paper left in the passenger seat.

He raised his eyebrows and picked it up. His eyes widened in shock as he read the words "6 weeks pregnant." Then he became excited.

"Lillian is pregnant? I'm going to be a dad!"

His elation was abruptly interrupted by the sudden ringing of his phone.

As soon as he answered it, his assistant's tense voice came through. "Mr. Anderson, there's trouble. You need to come to the office immediately. Your private video with Lindsay has been leaked, and it's currently the top trending topic. Now the company account is being bombarded with reports and flooded with negative comments. Many business partners are demanding to terminate their contracts with us. We're doomed."
