Dr. Claire wriggled her brows playfully, she stepped forward with an unexplainable smile on her lips. Her eyes went to the tv but it stayed only for some moments before it returned back to Elena.
Elena wondered what Dr. Claire was thinking of when she turned away from the tv. "The mysterious singer seems to have some kind of connections in the industry."
"Even without showing her face, she managed to get contract deals and beat the princess of the city in getting signed." Dr. Claire remarked thoughtfully.
Dr. Claire was not surprised at the result, she wanted the mysterious singer to win but it was quite surprising how she did without much stress.
"A good name is better than gold. I believe the mysterious singer has made a proper name for herself and so she doesn't have to work too hard to earn favors." Elena muttered talking for the first time since Dr. Claire walked into the room.
Dr. Claire raised a brow, it seems their new mistress was a fan of music too. "Are you a fan of the mysterious singer? You are defending her without knowing her fully well...."
"Sometimes we don't need to know people before we support them. Also, I only said a good name is better than anything else." Elena replied, rolling her eyes in her head.
Dr. Claire chuckled, the new mistress was not a fool either, it was nice. "Alright mistress, do you need someone to help you change ? Your clothes will be arriving in a few minutes."
"No I don't. I can change on my own, my hands and legs work perfectly well." Elena remarked, the sarcasm in her tone couldn't be hidden.
Dr. Claire nodded, her expression turned neutral and plain. "Whatever you say, I will take my leave now." Dr. Claire said and left from there without sparing a minute there.
After Dr. Claire left, Elena rolled her eyes. She had been holding back the urge to do so, her eyes turned toward the tv again. She knows better than to support her own sister, even a stranger was more cultured compared to her.

Vanessa paced back and forth in her room biting her nails, her career was going to fall into shambles if nothing was done now. Her father is upset too, there is no way he's helping her out.
While Vanessa was lost in thoughts, the sound of a blaring ring tone rang in the room. Vanessa was brought out of her thoughts, Vanessa hissed in anger when she saw the contact ID.
"What do you want?" Vanessa asked unhappily after picking up the call.
"You seem pissed off my dear, is everything alright? What's wrong?" The guy asked Vanessa, taking notice of her upset tone.
Vanessa rolled her eyes, "Even if I tell you, you won't be able to provide a proper solution for me. So why bother?" Vanessa questioned.
"You can speak about it to my first baby, I might just have a solution for you. By the way, I heard about some news on some blogs on social media. Is it about that?" Bluce asked.
The guy named Bluce was a reporter who had been interested in Vanessa for years, since she started her career but Vanessa had never given him a chance. Blue was willing to do anything to earn her favor, he genuinely cared and loved her but she didn't care about it because she felt he wasn't up to her social standards.
"Of course it is. What kind of problem will I be having if it's not something related to that?" Vanessa responded, clicking her tongue in anger.
Bluce sighed, "I just got some juicy news about a B list Actress. I can spread that out to cover the issue about you, the news about you will be pushed below and soon it will disappear."
"What are you waiting for? Of course you should release the news, I am grateful to you." Vanessa muttered with excitement in her tone.
Vanessa felt happy, she could find a solution without getting herself involved in it and people will also forget about her once the news about the girl was spread for all to see.
"I will do that now. Will you come out to see me today? Remember I am giving out this confidential information because of you." Bluce remarked in hope of getting her to come to see him.
Vanessa opened her mouth ready to reject him like she always does but then she realized he was doing her a huge favour. Of course she had to compensate him for this.
"Fine. Send me the time and location and I will be there. A secluded place please, I don't want people to see me." Vanessa said, not forgetting to add the last part to keep her secret safe.
Bluce felt excited over the phone, this was the first time she was agreeing to let them meet privately. He would not blow up this perfect opportunity, maybe this could be his opportunity to get her to fall in love with him too.
"Alright I will. I should get the news published now." And just like that the call ended.
Vanessa burst into a fit of laughter after he ended the call, finally her father would not be disappointed in her anymore.
Outside Vanessa's door, Vanessa's mother stood outside without making any sound, she had heard all her daughter had said over the phone and she felt so proud and happy.
Her daughter was talking after her footsteps and not acting dumb like others. She smiled and walked away from the door of the room.
By evening, the news of the B list Actress was all over the internet and people had something more fun and interesting to argue and talk about. When Vanessa saw the news, she was content and happy that the attention of the public had been moved to another person other than her.
Bluce sent the location and time to Vanessa after the job was done preparing to meet her. Vanessa got dressed and sneaked out of the house under the guise that she wanted to sleep early and rest.
Leaving through the windows, Vanessa bypassed the security guards and left the mansion. She hailed down a taxi once she got outside the house and left from there in haste.

After five years in a federal prison, framed by my stepmother and fiancé, I was finally released.
Instead of a welcome home, my stepmother tossed me a one-way ticket to Geneva and a threat: renounce the family name and disappear, or end up in the Hudson River.
When our limo was suddenly ambushed by military-grade SUVs on the highway, their cowardice almost got us killed.
I took the wheel, crashed the attackers, and saved their lives.
But the moment the danger passed, my stepmother tried to slap me, called me a psycho, and abandoned me on the desolate roadside.
My ex-fiancé later cornered me in public, trying to assert his dominance by grabbing my arm.
They still thought I was the broken girl they sent to a cage just so they could steal my dead mother's biochemical research.
I didn't feel heartbreak, only a cold, absolute certainty.
They threw me to the wolves, not realizing the federal penitentiary had burned away my capacity for mercy.
I hacked into the dark web and found out Dante Meltoni, the most dangerous Mafia Don in New York, was tearing the city apart to find a legendary underground doctor.
I am that doctor.
I walked straight into his heavily guarded fortress, pulled out a syringe, and saved his dying grandfather.
Then I looked the terrifying Don right in the eye.
"Marry me. And let me use your empire to wipe my family off the map."

For six years, I worked myself to the bone to support my "struggling artist" boyfriend, Kasen. I paid the rent on our leaky Brooklyn apartment and believed in his dream, thinking our love was real.
That all ended one rainy night when I delivered documents to an exclusive club and overheard him with his wealthy friends. Our life, he said, was just a "sociological experiment."
He wasn't poor at all. He was a trust fund heir with a fiancée in the Hamptons, waiting to close a corporate merger.
"Kaia is just a naive pet who voluntarily pays my rent," he laughed over a three-thousand-dollar glass of scotch.
He told them girls like me were so desperate we'd come crawling back for a scrap of affection. My entire world shattered.
I packed my bags and walked out that night with eighty-four dollars to my name, ready to start over. But escaping one monster only threw me to another. The next day, a predatory client tried to drug me during a business meeting.
My boss, the terrifyingly powerful CEO Camden William, intervened. But after a night of drug-induced chaos, I woke up in his bed.
He didn't offer an apology. He offered a contract. "Marry me for three years," he commanded, "and I'll give you five million dollars and make sure Kasen can never touch you again."

I returned to the Reeves estate after five years in exile, not as the rightful heir, but as an outcast. My father had been dead for only a month, and my uncle Julian had already claimed his mahogany desk, his face tight with a greed he no longer bothered to hide.
Julian didn't even look up as he slid a check for a hundred thousand dollars across the wood. "A settlement," he sneered. "Sign the waiver, take your bastards, and disappear. We don't want you embarrassing the family name anymore."
One hundred thousand dollars for a legacy worth billions—it was an insult designed to draw blood. When my five-year-old twins, Leo and Mia, ran into the room, Julian looked at them with pure disgust, calling them vermin and ordering them out. He threatened that if I didn't sign, I’d be on the street in a week, stripped of the Reeves name and every penny of protection. Even the family lawyer looked away as he helped facilitate my ruin. I tore the check to shreds and walked out into a freezing deluge, shielding my children while the doors of my childhood home slammed shut behind us.
I spent years building a secret life as a high-level corporate fixer, yet when I crossed paths with Branson Reeves—the man who shared my son’s eyes—he treated me like a common gold-digger. He outbid me for the "Midnight Orchid" painting, the only piece of evidence that could bring Julian down, mocking my "thrift store" clothes while my children slept in a borrowed guest room. How could they all be so blind? How could a family be so ready to destroy its own blood for the sake of a ledger?
I was done hiding in the shadows. When Julian finally launched a hostile takeover to seize the entire empire, I walked into Branson’s penthouse, dropped my "poor niece" facade, and threw a decrypted file onto his desk.
"The game is over, Branson. Give me that painting, and I’ll show you exactly how to bury the man who thinks he's already won."
