Chapter 5

He didn't want to get him angry. The Beta and Gamma who also knew the truth couldn't help but keep quiet.

Sienna smirked.

Dera, who had already thought of a perfect way to frame Sienna, spoke out. "She threatened to kill me ever since I came back as Alpha Gray's mate. I've known no peace."

"Will you shut up, you liar!" Sienna growled. She narrowed her eyes as she walked towards Dera. She couldn't understand why Dera of all people was doing this to her.

"You're saying this before the president? Faking up a statement I never made in my entire life?" She was about to slap her when Gray grabbed her arm, pushing it hard away.

“Apologize to Dera right now! You can't be a threat to her life, which I've been keeping quiet for some time now thinking you will change, only for you to attempt to assault her before everyone."

"This is an insult to my face!" He rose, heading towards Sienna who stood still, not showing a single sign of fear.

The Beta rushed to grab him, he couldn't be present and watch him beat up the real Luna whom he knew she had been enduring.

"Sienna, did you say that?" Patrick asked as he was watching the event as they unraveled in surprise.

“I will say no such thing!” Sienna retorted.

Gray pulled her by the hair and forced her to her knees in front of everyone.

“You will get to apologize on your knees since you don't want to stand up!” Everyone gasped, and Dera grinned. This has never happened before, it was the greatest insult to womanhood and the secret office of Lunahood

Sienna stood up with force, giving him a hard slap on his face. She spits directly to his face.

"I'll die rather than submit to you. Come on, kill me!"

Cheers arose from the table, Gray was shocked, with Dera. It couldn't be kept secret any longer that people didn't support him on what he was doing. Sienna herself couldn't take it any longer. She was planning what to do next.

Alpha Gray got so furious that she defied him, making fun of him that he grabbed her neck, shaking her, then he hit her on her face. He was so angry that his eyes shifted to yellow and he felt his wolf coming up. He was about to shift into his wolf and tear her to pieces but he feared the Cursed Alpha who didn't take it kindly with murderers. He was regarded as the Alpha Prince after all.

Should he kill Sienna, he will be executed. The Alpha President here would be a witness who would have to speak about what he saw. Only this made him control his temper, but still, he was so furious.

“This will teach you a lesson not to insult my fated mate again! It doesn't matter who she was to you before, what matters now is that she's your superior, she's my fated mate and as a fated mate, she's greater in rank than you."

“Fuck your stupid sense, you can't even see the truth.” He lashed at her.

"Useless woman!" He spit at her, leaving her side. Sienna stood with such a furious face, she was determined to deal with them no matter what it took her.

“Leave!"

But before he could even say this, Sienna was out of the door with her plans in mind.

“She can't hurt you, my love, not while I am around and still the Alpha.” Gray consoled his little mate, Dera who snuggled into his arms, enjoying the way one of his hands was draped around her chest.

Sensations were dribbling inside of her, she felt the urge to go to bed with him.

“I just hope she won't beat me up when you are not around, honey.” She whispered amid her moans.

“She can't try that!" Gray growled, sending courage into Dera who grinned happily.

"You know how much I love you, alright? Calm down, my baby.” He asked, patting her on her back.

A lot of thoughts were on Sienna's mind, she was greatly worried. If the start was this way, what would happen when Dera has pups into the marriage? She wondered.

Even if she leaves now, where is she gonna go?

She was just confused.

She was really in pain as she poured out her anger with no one there to listen to her. She burst into bitter tears out of frustration. Her wolf was getting weaker and weaker with the maltreatment she was receiving both from her husband and his mate.

It was such an insult for her husband to make her kneel before everyone. She bit her lips as the President couldn't even say a word of caution to him.

"He doesn't deserve to be the president!" She growled. “Both of them are a bunch of fools!”

Sienna sobbed all through the evening in her room until she attempted to force herself to sleep at night. She tried her best but couldn't sleep. She didn't want to call the attention of Carla who was always working as a scriptwriter.

She was a full-time worker and didn't even have much time for herself.

When the door to her room flung wide open all of a sudden, she jerked up in shock. She realized she hadn't pulled over the bolt. She was hurting so madly inside that she forgot to do the necessary.

Gray walked in.

“Pretending to sleep, huh?” He asked her.

“Well, there is always no peace for the wicked. So you think that you can just come to bed after causing so much trouble earlier, right?” He proved right the more as Sienna didn't give him any response.

“Keep ignoring me but I have come to warn you!” He continued as her silence was infuriating him.

“If you ever cause any trouble here in this estate again, I promise you that will be the end of our marriage! I will file for divorce and make sure you pay me any amount I stipulate."

The harvest moon hung low over the Silvermoon Pack territory, casting silver shadows across the celebration grounds. I stood at the edge of the main hall, clipboard in hand, watching Grant move through the crowd with the natural grace of a born leader. My heart did that familiar flutter every time his deep laugh carried across the room, every time he threw his head back in genuine amusement at something one of the visiting dignitaries said. Stop it, Harper. You're his assistant, nothing more. But then his eyes would find mine across the room, holding my gaze for just a moment too long, and my carefully constructed walls would crumble. Tonight felt different somehow. The air between us crackled with something electric, something dangerous. "Harper." His voice, warm and commanding, made me jump. I hadn't heard him approach.

The bell above the door of *The Gilded Claw* chimed softly as I stepped inside, the scent of sage and old parchment washing over me. It was a stark contrast to the sterile, modern smell of the Silver Lake Pack House, and for a moment, I let my shoulders drop. Here, amidst the dusty relics and enchanted trinkets, I didn't have to be the trembling, wolfless Omega everyone thought I was. "Miss Hayes," the shopkeeper, an elderly warlock named Elias, greeted me with a bow that was far too deep for a girl in faded jeans and a thrift-store sweater. His milky eyes lingered on me, seeing something no one else in this town bothered to look for. "Your commission is ready." He placed a velvet box on the counter. I opened it, my breath hitching. Inside lay a dagger forged from pure moonstone, the blade shimmering with an iridescent glow that seemed to pulse in time with my own heartbeat. It was a courting gift. A promise.

Just because I accidentally spilled hot water on Bailee Rose, my mate’s Beta, he locked me in the pack’s sauna for eight hours. Right before I lost consciousness, Rhys Kennedy, the Alpha of the Crimson Fang Pack, finally sent someone to get me out. He stood over me, his towering frame casting a shadow, his voice low and commanding, “This is just a small lesson. If I ever see you hurt Bailee again, next time, it won’t be this easy for you.” I lay on the stretcher, my body weak but my voice steady. “Alright,” I said, knowing better than to argue with an Alpha. ============================== On the day I was discharged, I stood outside the packhouse and overheard lively chatter inside. The voices carried through the open windows, sharp and mocking. “Alpha Rhys, if you dislike Adelaide so much, why not just reject her?” Colin Harris, a Gamma in the pack, asked smugly. Rhys made a noise of irritation, his deep voice rumbling. “My mother, the Luna, insists that only Adelaide can initiate the rejection.

The first rays of dawn filtered through the silk curtains of my room in the pack house, painting everything in shades of gold and rose. Today was the day. After ten years of waiting, of growing together, of building something beautiful from childhood friendship into destined love, Elian and I would finally complete our mate ceremony. I stretched beneath the covers, my hand instinctively moving to rest on my still-flat stomach. The pregnancy was so new that even I could barely believe it—a miracle, Dr. Mitchell had called it, given the rarity of Alpha fertility. The timing felt perfect, like the Moon Goddess herself had blessed our union with this gift. Downstairs, I could hear the bustling activity that had started before sunrise. Pack members moved with purpose through the corridors, their voices carrying excitement and warmth. The ceremonial grounds behind the pack house would be transformed into something magical by evening, with white flowers and silver ribbons honoring the Moon Goddess who had brought Elian and me together all those years ago.

I found out Axton had taken a mate when their child was already born. In the pack hall, his friend Stefan asked him how he planned to explain it to me. He just scoffed: “It’s natural for a future Alpha to have a mate and a chosen companion. She has no right to demand an explanation from me.” “Besides, Victoria is possessive. It’s better not to tell her yet, or she might do something reckless to harm my child.” We’d grown up together, and three years ago, I left for a pack ceremony. He promised me, “It’ll always be just you and me. When you return, we’ll have our mark ceremony.” This time, I didn’t cry or beg him to explain why he’d broken his promise. I turned and left, accepting the mate bond with Josue Cruz. Finally, I let go of my love for him. ......

The baby kicked inside me as I sat alone in our barely furnished quarters, my hands resting on my swollen belly. Today was my birthday—not that it mattered to anyone in the Silvercrest Pack. Especially not to Bear. I glanced at the clock for the hundredth time. 8:17 PM. The pack house across the grounds was lit up like a Christmas tree, laughter and music floating through the evening air. Someone was having a celebration tonight. "Did you hear about the Alpha Summit gala?" A female voice drifted through my open window—two pack members chatting as they passed by. "Katherine looks stunning in that new designer dress. Alpha Bear spared no expense." My stomach tightened.
