BLACK TIE BILLIONAIRE Novel Cover

BLACK TIE BILLIONAIRE

Scott grabbed Vivian's arm as she turned away from him. “Don’t you ever walk out on me like that again!” he said angrily. Vivian let her eyes settle on his hand for a few seconds before she yanked her arm away from his grip. Noticing that she missed his touch, she shook the thought away. “The only time you have the right to tell me what to do is during working hours, and the last time I checked…. No one is working right now." His eyebrow lifted, as if calling her bluff." Really?" he asked. One side of his lips curled up in a smirk. Vivian didn't care. She was finding it very hard to keep her mouth sealed tonight, and she didn't even try to stop herself." Yes. I am not your employee right now so I can do exactly as I please!” “That's funny?” He said, but there was nothing funny about the look in his eyes. His mouth hardened with lust. “Well, since we're going with that, it also means that I can do the same, right?” Without giving her a chance to respond, he grabbed her waist and he pulled her right up against him—so close that she could feel every hard muscle in his body. His body heat warmed her, and his palm settled at the base of her spine. She couldn't think straight… Not when he bent and nipped at her bottom lip, then sucked it, soothing and enhancing the sting before returning to devour her mouth. As if she was something he knew he shouldn’t have but couldn’t resist. “Let's stop playing games,” he said as he drove his mouth down onto hers. "We both want each other…. Why don't you come up with me so we can get this thing… whatever it is… over with?" _____________ ____________ Scott grabbed Vivian's arm as she turned away from him. “Don’t you ever walk out on me like that again!” he said angrily. Chapter 9

Scott McCall studied her for a few seconds before he replied. "You're welcome, and that's fine. The vacancy opened up quite suddenly and I need a replacement urgently. Well, you already told me that you were interested, so I gave it a shot"

"I completely understand, sir," Vivian replied. "And I'm still very grateful. Can I get you something to drink or eat?"

Scott looked around. "Yeah, I guess so. I haven't really been here before so I don't know what the food is like, so I guess I should trust you. What do you recommend?"

Vivian actually blushed. "Ermmm, the cheesecake is really great….and it would go well with a glass of white wine."

Scott nodded. "That sounds perfect" he said, "I'll have that…"

"Great. I'll be back soon" Vivian said, and almost ran out of the restaurant.

As she turned to leave, Scott took the opportunity to take a good look at her. Never in his life had he looked at a waitress in her uniform and thought that she looked sexy, but that was all he could think of as he watched her.

He had been right about her, he thought. That backside of hers was just as he'd imagined-Round and perfect. Even in her simple white shirt and short skirt, she stood out. She had a small apron tied around her waist and the ropes dangled behind her as he moved. He found himself wanting to pull and untie them.

He didn't know what to do with this inconvenient attraction, but being the kind of man he was, he told himself repeatedly that he could handle it. She was gone, but even now, her scent—the fresh, wild lushness of rain right before a storm and roses in bloom— still lingered, making him imagine being insanely close to her, until his hard body was pressed against her soft, sensual curves.

He shook his head. Common sense told him to dismiss those feelings. This woman could be working for him soon enough, and being his personal assistant meant that they would be working close together, but he couldn't stop picturing himself reaching for the thick strands of hair that was still tied into her ponytail. Did she ever wear her hair down? He also noticed that the glasses were gone, and that she was even more beautiful without them.

He pinched himself as he saw her coming back to the table. The last thing he wanted for his thoughts to get out of control. He watched as she dropped his order in front of him, and he heard the slight catch of her breath as she leaned closer to him. Noticed the erratic beat of her pulse at the base of her neck..

From what exactly? he wondered… Was it nerves? Desire? Whatever it was, his body responded in the way he absolutely didn't want it to.

"You didn't bring any for yourself?" he teased. "Well, don't you think it would be weird if you just sat there watching me eat?"

Vivian sat down." Oh that's fine. I assure you." She said," Besides, this is still a job interview… no matter how different the circumstances are. "

"You could join me?" Scott persisted." Would that be weird?"

Vivian opened her mouth, but no words came out. She saw Scott smile, but it lasted for only a second, and she wondered if she had imagined it. But God, did he look good when he smiled. She took the opportunity to have a good look at him and noticed that he had a dimple on his left cheek. It was sexy as hell.

Dressed in another black designer suit, he looked spectacular. Everything about him gave him this air of a powerful and successful man who always got what he wanted when he wanted it.

"Don't mind me" he said, "I just think that even if we have met only twice, and given how our first meeting went, we have past the point of being embarrassed about anything."

Vivian leaned back in her seat. "I would like to apologize once again for my behavior that night. It's not something I do all the time or anything like that… I was just so… desperate. The fact that you are here, willing to give me a chance after all that means so much to me."

Scott nodded as he took a sip of his wine." That's alright, and it's in the past. I'm a man who likes to focus on the present and the future. I'm here now because I found myself in sudden need of a personal assistant. My current assistant is away for the time being, and I have no idea when she will be back. "

He took a bite of his cheesecake and Vivian tried hard to concentrate on what he was saying rather than how amazing his lips looked. She also noticed that his dimple became even more visible as he chewed.

"The position is temporary," Scott continued. "Depending on when my assistant returns, but something can be done to make your position at my company permanent…. That is, If you do well. Now I understand that being a personal assistant was not your initial intention when you came to me, so I will understand if you turn down the offer, but this is just the only position open at the moment, and so I'm offering it to you. What do you say?"

Vivian was speechless for a while. It wasn't exactly what she wanted, but at least it was something. But she also had other things to think about, like her current job at the cheesecake shop. He said the position was temporary for now, and she didn't want to quit her job without being sure that she had a permanent place at his company. She would have to work evening shifts here instead. It was going to be more stressful for her, but at least it was extra money, and she could do with more money at the moment.

"I'm very grateful for the opportunity, sir," she said. "And I accept the position."

"Do you have any experience with bring a personal assistant?" Scott asked.

Vivian shook her head. "No I haven't." she said truthfully. My only experience is with advertising, but I really am a fast learner, sir and I can also take courses to improve my skills when necessary."

"Great. I would like you to start tomorrow, because like I said, it's urgent. Is that alright with you?"

The video loaded. The stream counter showed 47,000 viewers and climbing.
