Chapter 6
" What did you just say?" Elias asked just to make sure he heard her clearly.
" I said let's get married...or are you no longer interested in the marriage?" She replied while looking at him with determination in her eyes.
" Of course I am,I just wanted to be sure I heard right" he said staring at the little woman in front of him. By now she was looking pale probably because she was crying. " So when do you want to get it done, now or we could wait till tomorrow?" He asked her.
" Let's do it now, before I change my mind" Ava replied.
"Alright then,as you wish" Elias said as he signalled to Mathew who was watching them from a distance.
"Yes boss" Mathew said as he ran up to them. He was surprised to see the same woman with his boss again but he dare not ask any question.
"Prepare the car, we are leaving" , Elias said to Mathew as he turned to look at Ava. "Let's go"
When they got to the car Ava got inside while Elias followed after her.
"Take us to the registry court" Elias said to the driver. Mathew was taken by surprise when he heard this,he wondered what his boss was up to.
On the way to the registry office Anna finally said something. "I don't have my ID card with me, how are we going to process the certificate?" She asked as she turned to look at Elias.
" We will drive to your house first so you can get the necessary documents. Just give the driver your address" Elias replied without turning to look at her. When they got to the address, Elias was shocked to find out that she lived in a rented apartment. Why will the first daughter of the Lin family live in such apartment. There was a lot for him to find out about this little woman,he thought.
" I'll go up and get it myself, just give me few minutes" Ava said as she got down from the car and went into the building. Ava moved into the apartment when she turned eighteen, her stepmother and sister made life a living hell for her at the Lin residence after her mother death so she decided to move out as soon as she got into college. Since then she has been living in that apartment alone.
When she got to her apartment, she went straight to her room to get her documents, after retrieving the document she looked around her room, this was the place that has served as her home for more than five years now. It wasn't that well furnished but just enough for her to live comfortably. She quickly locked the door and went down to the car.
" What took you so long?....for a moment I thought you had changed your mind" Elias said to her as soon as she got into the car.
" No I haven't" Ava replied to him and looked out of the window. The drive to the court was quite long and the car was silent all through. Everyone had thoughts running through their minds. Elias turned to look at the little woman beside him,she seemed tired and her body looked fragile. He wondered what was going through her mind but didn't try to disturb her.
The car finally stopped, they had gotten to the registry office. Elias tapped Ava who seemed to be lost in thoughts.
" We are here already" he said to her.
" Ohh... alright" Ava said as she looked at the building in front of her. She had been doing a lot of thinking all through the drive down there. She was having a double mind if she had made the right decision. Marriage was not a child's play and she felt she wasn't ready for it. Ava turned to look at the man beside her, her husband to be, he seemed relaxed like getting married was something he did every day. She turned to look at the building, took a deep breath and said.
"Let's do this"
They both got down from the car and began to walk towards the entrance of the office. Mathew went ahead of them to make enquiries and prepare everything before hand. As they got to the entrance of the office, Ava could see couples who had just gotten their marriage certificate. They all seemed happy with smiles and laughter plastered on their faces as they took pictures with their partners.
She looked at Elias who was walking ahead of her,he didn't seem to care. She started to regret her decision, but at this point there was no going back. She could only hope for the best.
When the got inside, they sat on the bench at the reception as they had to wait for their turn. Elias turned to look at the woman beside him.
" Are you sure you're ready....after this there's no turning back?" He asked her.
" I am ready" Ava said as she held tightly to the helm of her dress as if seeking reassurance from it. She was about to become a wife to a man she barely new nothing about, the thought of that sent chills down her spine.
After waiting for few minutes it was finally their turn, the lady at the front desk directed them to an office. When they got inside the office they met an elderly woman sitting behind a desk. She smiled as she saw them walk in. They both sat in front of her.
"Another young couple again..you both look good together" she smiled and said while she collected the documents from them. The process of issuing the certificate didn't take up to two minutes. The elderly woman handed them the certificate and told them to go through it before signing. They both signed and gave it back to her to stamp. After stamping it she gave it back to them and said.
" Congratulations to you both....I wish you the very best in your marriage" she said, " you can proceed to the front desk for the final step.
When they got to the front desk, they were asked to take a couples photo for the passport which they did reluctantly. In the picture, Ava managed to force a smile while Elias kept a straight face. The lady at the front desk attached the picture to the certificate and handed it over to them.
" Congratulations once again... It is done" she said to them. Elias thanked her and collected the certificate from her and began to walk out. When they stepped outside the building he handed Ava a copy of their marriage certificate.
Ava collected the little book and stared down at it with mixed expression.
She was married.
From now on she was no longer Miss Lin....she was now Mrs Ward.

My fiancé, Drake, didn't hesitate. He called me a disgusting gold-digger and threatened to pull my mother's medical funding to force me into an abortion.
The shock of his cruelty sent my mother into cardiac arrest. She died right there in the hospital.
They demanded I abort a child that could never exist, a lie built to destroy me.
But they didn't know my secret. After my mother' s death, I finally told him the truth that shattered his world: I was born without a uterus. And with her last letter in my hand, I walked away from him forever.

I was the dedicated, "wolfless" Luna of the Blackwood Pack, bound to Alpha Damien for seven years.
Just three days before our marriage contract expired, Damien burst into my clinic carrying his mistress, Allena.
He used his Alpha Command to clear the room, humiliating me in front of my own medical staff.
The ultrasound revealed Allena was suffering from internal bleeding due to their uncontrolled mating frenzy.
Instead of feeling shame for his weakness, Damien shoved me brutally against a metal counter to protect her.
He threw a $100,000 check at me to buy my silence, treating my broken soul like a cheap transaction.
Later, when I refused to kneel and apologize to his mistress, he pushed me again, shattering my arm against a glass table.
As my blood soaked the pristine white rug, he stood over me, demanding my absolute submission.
He thought I was just a pathetic, weak Omega who would endure his cruelty forever because I had nothing else.
He didn't know that five years ago, after he threatened to kill any pup I bore him, I secretly built a massive offshore empire.
I calmly tied a tourniquet over my bleeding arm and wiped my blood right over his heart.
"I am done with you."
Then I liquidated his thirty-five-million-dollar penthouse assets and walked out into the night, ready to show him who the real monster was.

I woke up alone in a cold hospital room after a near-fatal car crash.
My husband of three years, Bryant, claimed he was too busy with back-to-back meetings to visit me.
But when I dragged my bruised body into the hallway, I caught him pinning his pregnant mistress against a vending machine.
"As soon as my company IPOs next month, I'm dumping my useless wife."
"She's so pathetic. She'd be living on the streets if it wasn't for my charity."
For three years, Bryant and his mother had humiliated me for being an orphan, treating me like a penniless burden while he secretly bought a multi-million-dollar townhouse for his new family.
A cold knot formed in my stomach. I had almost died in that wreckage, yet my husband was disgusted by my very existence, eagerly waiting to throw me away.
But Bryant didn't know about the damp, sealed envelope the paramedics had recovered from my wrecked car.
The DNA report inside proved I wasn't a nobody from the gutter.
I was the biological daughter of the Beaumonts—New York's wealthiest, most ruthless billionaire dynasty.
I didn't scream or confront them.
Instead, I calmly pulled out my phone, recorded their affair in high definition, and dialed a Wall Street financier I hadn't spoken to in years.
"I'm done playing the happy housewife. Pull his algorithmic backdoors and drain the accounts."

Alexa Thorne was just an eighteen-year-old girl trying to survive her wealthy friend's sweltering summer pool party.
But a violent asthma attack, triggered by heavy cigar smoke, forced her to confront the man smoking it—Armando Holmes, a ruthless Wall Street billionaire and her friend's older brother. She begged him to put it out. He complied, but his cold gaze instantly shifted into a terrifying, predatory obsession.
From that moment, her quiet life was over. Armando cornered her in a dark hallway, staking a terrifying claim. He forced her into his Bentley, practically kidnapping her to his secluded Hamptons estate, a gilded cage he called the Rose Manor. When he offered her a dark rose and declared his "enchantment," the sheer terror finally made Alexa run. But she tripped, tumbling down the hard stone steps, breaking her arm and severely gashing her face.
Waking up in the hospital, facing the horror of a permanent, ugly scar, Alexa wept in sheer despair. She didn't understand why this dangerous, powerful man had targeted her, tearing her away from her modest life just to lock her in his terrifying grip.
"I swear to you, you will not have a single scar."
Armando vowed, his eyes burning with dark possession as he effortlessly dismissed her own brother's attempts to protect her. As he personally tended to her most humiliating needs with trembling hands, Alexa realized with chilling clarity: the real nightmare wasn't the fall, but the inescapable, obsessive love of the monster who had claimed her.

For two years, Emmie’s marriage to Daxton Ellis was nothing but a cold medical contract. She was merely a living vessel, kept around to provide a bone marrow transplant for his true love, Hortensia.
When Emmie's grandfather was dying in the ICU, she desperately begged Daxton to save him. Instead, he coldly refused, ordering his bodyguards to trap her so her surgery wouldn't be delayed.
To completely destroy Emmie, Hortensia maliciously faked a severe allergy attack and then intentionally threw herself down a steep flight of iron stairs.
She perfectly framed Emmie for attempted murder right in front of Daxton's eyes.
Believing his lover's lies, Daxton violently choked Emmie and locked her in a pitch-black room, cutting off all her communication with the outside world.
Trapped in the freezing darkness, Emmie received a secret call from the weeping butler.
"Master Silas... his heart stopped. He was calling your name. He died calling your name."
The phone slipped from her fingers, the agonizing realization hitting her that because of Daxton, she didn't even get to say a final goodbye to her only family.
The raw, guttural scream that tore through her throat marked the absolute death of her six years of unrequited love. Clutching the signed divorce agreement and the key to her grandfather's hidden billionaire trust, Emmie wiped her bloodstained hands and prepared to make them pay.

The fragile illusion shattered when she found microscopic holes systematically poked through her entire box of condoms.
When she confronted Dante, he coldly accused her of trying to trap him with a baby, then immediately abandoned her to comfort his ex-girlfriend.
But the truth was far more twisted.
At the hospital, Helena overheard her mother-in-law's horrifying plan.
"She has to get pregnant. We need the stem cells to save Julian."
They didn't want an heir. They needed Helena to be a walking incubator to harvest spare parts for Dante's sickly younger brother.
When Helena tried to fund her escape, Dante dragged her back, froze all her accounts, and forced a humiliating blood test to prove she wasn't scheming.
"You're nothing without me," he sneered, locking her inside their penthouse.
Sitting in her gilded cage, watching the media parade Dante and his ex as society's "golden couple," Helena felt her heartbreak completely evaporate.
She had sacrificed her prestigious ballet career for a family that viewed her as literal livestock.
The tears stopped, leaving behind only a cold, razor-sharp resolve.
She printed out her divorce papers, marched straight into the crowded headquarters of Velasquez Corp, and prepared to burn his empire to the ground.
