Chapter 4

One of the girls complained for my sake, "I think we're going too far…"

"Too far?!" Susie's lackeys promptly shrieked in retort. "So it's not going too far when she steals Ken from Susie?! This is just payback with interest! Someone like her would never become Ken's girlfriend if she didn't cling to him all the time!"

I snorted. "Heh."

How hilarious, when it was Ken who kneeled under the rain outside my house for 24 hours, begging me to date him.

He managed to trick my parents into footing the bill for his tuition too, and suddenly, I was now the one who had stolen him from Susie?

Back in the day, Susie had sent her clique after me.

They would flush my textbooks down the toilet, put chalk into my drink, and even burn my hair with lighters.

And when the boys saw me, they would jeer, "Look! It's the pig who gives herself too much credit!"

As for Ken, he refused to defend me even though he was supposed to be my boyfriend.

If anything, he loved it when I was being bullied, as it meant Susie, his beloved goddess, still cared about him.

From the very start, I was a tool in their love game.

Susie waved her hands impatiently just then. "That's enough! Let's stop wasting our time on that jinx! Let's go already—I can't wait to bare my skin and enjoy the sun!"

I sneered icily, watching as they hurried to the bus and squeezed their way into it.

'Go ahead, enjoy yourselves as much as you can! Let's see if you're all still laughing soon!'

However, no sooner had they left when Mrs. Dent entered.

Seeing the empty conference room, her face dropped. "Where did everyone go?! I've repeatedly told them that we're having a forum at this time!"

I hung my head as I mumbled tearfully, "Sorry, Mrs. Dent… Susie and Ken led everyone to the beach… I couldn't stop them…"

As I sniffed, I quietly rolled up my sleeves, revealing the swelling and bruises on my arms. "They beat me up… to take the bikinis… It hurts so much…"

Mrs. Dent slammed her palm on the table, her face ashen as she bellowed, "Incorrigible! I've always borne with Ken and Susie for their poor grades, and now, they won't even listen to me!

"How would I explain myself to their parents if things go bad?! Those two brats!"

Pacing around anxiously, she suddenly stopped. "How long have they gone?"

I pursed my lips. "A-Almost three hours now…"

Mrs. Dent's face turned pale. "No! The mayor usually patrols the beach with the guidance patrol! Quick, we need to go!"

We quickly dressed modestly, making sure there were no laws violated whatsoever before driving straight to the beach.

When we finally arrived, the scene that greeted us left us dumbfounded!

Marrying My Runaway Groom's Powerful Father Novel Cover
9.0
I was sitting in the Presidential Suite of The Pierre, wearing a Vera Wang gown worth more than most people earn in a decade. It was supposed to be the wedding of the century, the final move to merge two of Manhattan's most powerful empires. Then my phone buzzed. It was an Instagram Story from my fiancé, Jameson. He was at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with a caption that read: "Fuck the chains. Chasing freedom." He hadn't just gotten cold feet; he had abandoned me at the altar to run across the world. My father didn't come in to comfort me. He burst through the door roaring about a lost acquisition deal, telling me the Holland Group would strip our family for parts if the ceremony didn't happen by noon. My stepmother wailed about us becoming the laughingstock of the Upper East Side. The Holland PR director even suggested I fake a "panic attack" to make myself look weak and sympathetic to save their stock price. Then Jameson’s sleazy cousin, Pierce, walked in with a lopsided grin, offering to "step in" and marry me just to get his hands on my assets. I looked at them and realized I wasn't a daughter or a bride to anyone in that room. I was a failed asset, a bouncing check, a girl whose own father told her to go to Paris and "beg" the man who had just publicly humiliated her. The girl who wanted to be loved died in that mirror. I realized that if I was going to be sold to save a merger, I was going to sell myself to the one who actually controlled the money. I marched past my parents and walked straight into the VIP holding room. I looked the most powerful man in the room—Jameson’s cold, ruthless uncle, Fletcher Holland—dead in the eye and threw the iPad on the table. "Jameson is gone," I said, my voice as hard as stone. "Marry me instead."

I had transmigrated into the body of an exiled, sadistic noblewoman who was three million coins in debt. The original owner was an absolute monster. She had purchased beastman guards just to torture them for fun. In the corner of the filthy room, a golden retriever boy cowered, his back shredded by her barbed whip. In the basement, a snake guard was frozen and scarred from constant electro-shocks. When the white tiger guard returned from hard labor, he looked at me with pure, murderous hatred, ready to tear me apart to protect the others. Even the local elites kicked down my door to mock my pathetic life and try to steal my men. I was a decorated commander who bled for humanity. Why was I trapped in this ruined vessel, bearing the sins of a degenerate abuser? It was all a setup by her sweet-faced cousin, Debera, who stole her royal life and sent her to this outer-rim hellhole to rot. I gritted my teeth and plunged a military-grade gene repair serum into my arm, letting the agony burn away the black filth and weakness. "The crazy woman you knew before is dead." I tossed a medical kit to the trembling guards, loaded my old electromagnetic pistol, and headed for the deadly Demon Hunting Zone to start my revenge.
